Patch v1.0.3

New patch with some importance fixes, balance changes and new events!

  • Flux Defluxer was nerfed, and now costs more shield capacity to deal damage and the other option gives less shield capacity
  • The old Temple Ruins event is now back. It was previously removed because a new temple event was coming soon, but until then, the old one is back on the table. The new redesigned temple ruins event will probably only come in the 1.1 content patch
  • A new random event: A friendly Aylon ship is giving you free cards!
  • Other existing events can now appear on the yellow random event mark
  • Devious Escape is now being scrapped correctly, in both boss and non boss cases
  • The Void Box card will work correctly when you draw Rocket Rain
  • The Drone Missile can now be correctly targeted when their intent is attack
  • The enemy damage on the hardcore mode levels has been reduced from level 3 to 7, and now only caps at level 10. There is still probably more balance changes for the hardcore levels difficulty.
  • Other minor fixes

Thank you everyone for the feedback!

Patch v1.0.2

Time for a new patch:

  • The Tempestra achievement should be working now
  • Restart the Core now correctly deactivates when played
  • Orbiting Shield Drones was buffed, now gives +4 shield capacity
  • When you have a dual card option to choose and you skip your turn, the pop up should go away
  • Hardcore level no longer increases when you win a game in regular mode
  • Counter Maneuver now works on ships that have the 'ion attack' intent
  • Now there is always the option to buy fuel on regular stations
  • The Slot Upgrade equipment card should now appear on your Collection after you get it

That is all for now and thank you for the feedback!

Patch 1.0.1

Small patch with one important fix:

  • Memory leak issue was fixed, and probably other minor fixes because of this
  • Some missile cruiser enemy ship have now correct names
  • Other minor fixes

Thanks!

For The Warp 1.0 is out now!

For The Warp is now out of Steam early access!

Version 1.0 brings new cards, equipment, a new ship and many other small changes.

But this doesn't mean the end of updates and at least one big update will be coming this summer with content that didn't make the cut.

The Missile Cruiser is now available to unlock, but you need to defeat the big boss at the 'secret' system Tempestra.

It has an onboard antimatter cruise missile factory and an antimatter cannon to deliver time sensitive mayhem.

There are 7 new cards:

And also 5 new equipment cards:

And other features and fixes:

  • Steam Achievements!
  • The Boss on Achlys system now might reveal its true form!
  • Some new cards got new art
  • Balanced some repair and scrap card costs in the later systems
  • Events are more unique and don't repeat that often.
  • Infinite hardcore levels are available and got some balances

What is next?

This is not the end of the updates!
A small list of things coming in the next few months:

  • Steam Deck and controller support
  • New events that didn't made the cut for 1.0
  • Translations! (should arrive soon)
  • At least 5 new equipment cards
  • QOL updates, more options and customizations

And finally you can also check the game on Nintendo Switch, that might be a bit behind on the latest updates but will be patched in the coming months also.

Thank you!

Content Updates & 1.0 Release Date

Hello!

First I want to announce that For The Warp is leaving early access this Monday, March 28!

Also the game is now available on Nintendo Switch!

The 'Infinite Update' was released last week so here is the short change list:

  • 'Infinite' Hardcore levels. Each time you beat the game the hardcore level increases
  • Changed keyboard shortcuts during combat. 'E' - Ends turn, 'A' - Play Deck, 'D' - Deck, 'ENTER' - Use selected card
  • Minor fixes and changes for upcoming updates

With the 'infinite' hardcore mode levels you get increasing difficulty after you beat the game with any ship.

Hardcore Mode levels:

  • Enemies give more damage as each level increases with a cap at level 5.

And these are specific difficulty modifiers that unlock once you reach that level:

3: Only repair 25% arriving at new systems
5: Repair costs increased
7: Lower credit rewards on victories
10: No repair at new systems
11: Repair costs increased
13: Regular enemies gain higher shield
15: Bosses gain higher shield
17: Aggressiveness for all enemies increased
20: All Bosses and Elites deal more damage
23: All Bosses deal even more damage
25: Final Boss deals ludicrous amounts of damage
27: Enemy Support ships heal more
30: All Bosses deal ludicrous amounts of damage

If you're interested in testing the upcoming 1.0 version, there is already a build in the test branch!
Just right click on the game in your Steam library -> Properties -> Betas -> Select 'test-test' on the drop down.

While the 1.0 version will be mostly feature complete, there is still at least one planned update to be released later this summer, with some events that didn't made the cut and Steam Deck support.

Thank you!
