Assemble with Care News

Plug your headphones into your Walkmans, here comes the soundtrack!

Happy 1 month anniversary everyone! Well, not quite, but close enough. On the 26th of March we released Assemble with Care on PC and we wanted to say thank you for your support so far! Our reviews have been very heartwarming to read. Some of you highlighted a few bugs (more on that below). And some others mentioned you really liked the soundtrack!

This leads us to our first update: The soundtrack is now available for free for anyone who purchases (or already purchased) Assemble with Care on Steam. What's more, it's also available on major music streaming platforms! All credit goes to Thomas Williams who worked with us on the project as well as composed and recorded all the music in the game and the soundtrack. We hope you enjoy it!

Second, when we shipped we discovered little bugs remained in the game. Thank you to all of those that pointed them out to us! Most of them are small and most of you wouldn't have seen them or noticed they were a bug. The biggest issue we ran into occurred during the Music Box level and some of you also reported running into softlocks (a situation where you can still play but progress in the game becomes impossible) at that stage. This has now been fixed and the playthrough should be a smooth experience for everyone. If that's not the case, please let us know!

Lastly, we're continuing to work on Assemble with Care! There was an object we really wanted in the game but was too big to finish it for release. It will be ready soon and will be included in the base game.

And that's it! It's been a trying time for many of us and we recognise we're luckier than most. Thank you for all the support and kind words during this time and we hope that, at least for a short time, our games made your lives a little brighter!

Assemble with Care now live on PC!

Steam is familiar territory to us as players but finally releasing a game here as developers we feel giddy and excited! In 2017 we released Monument Valley 2 and started prototyping a few different games. Being an eclectic bunch with different tastes and inspirations, we found it hard to define what it was that an “ustwo games game” was and with Assemble with Care, we feel like we found out what connects all of our games. One aspect of that is bringing what we love about videogames to as wide an audience as possible, and what better way to reach millions of people than Steam?

When Assemble with Care released on Apple Arcade we had the challenge of creating a game that worked on mobile devices (iOS), Apple TV and Mac. Making the game work in Portrait and Landscape was not without its difficulties but thanks to our crafty programmers we shipped a version that we felt proud of across all devices. However, we like to take pride in our work and the moment we started creating the port for PC we saw an opportunity to make our landscape version even better so we played around with inputs on mouse and keyboard, graphic settings and making sure the build ran smoothly on a variety of PC builds. We even managed to get to 2,000 FPS on some configurations, we spent so much time thinking if we could that we never stopped to think if we should… Anyway, the end result is a new version of the game that we’re proud of and has much improved since we shipped it last September. We hope you enjoy it and if you do like it, check out our other games!

Nervously excited,
