The demo offers 3 game modes:
  • Full experience - The game as it was created. It contains both story, exploration and card based combat.
  • Story mode - if you don’t fancy card games, you can still enjoy the story, visuals and music. This mode will auto resolve the encounter.
  • Combat mode - for those who want to explore the combat system more thoroughly. In this mode, you can choose your deck variant and go straight into the fight.

Story
Magin is the story of two characters - Tolen and Elester - Magins, mediums of the Essence. Though holding few things in common, they are bound by a fate that neither of them suspects. We want to tell a story that stays with you, one where important choices are yours to be made.

Setting

A dark fantasy world, where magic is directly tied to the desires and fears of its inhabitants. A world that stands on the verge of an industrial revolution, where races and cultures mix and cease to determine one’s path in life. A place where classical fantasy motifs are met with the relativity of modern morality.

Card based combat


  • You gain cards by exploring the world and by making narrative choices. Your collection is a reflection of the path your character has walked, and the experiences they’ve gathered. From those, you are free to build a deck that you take with you into combat.
  • The game will offer 3 main deck types, that you can mix and match, leading to a wide variety of playstyles.
  • Your deck can be further customized by unlocking powerful, magical abilities that change the way you play
  • Your combat skills will be tested by a variety of challenges that bar your way as you progress through the story or explore one of the game’s immersive, lore-rich dungeons.


Soundtrack

In Magin, we want the music to enhance the narrative, immerse you in the world, and tug at your heartstrings. Our composer - Tom Acrofear - is a genius at creating melodies that speak directly to the soul. Tom has been in our team from the very beginning, and his music plays a pivotal role in representing the emotions that are a major part of the main characters’ powers.

Our team

We're a fully independent team of hard-working developers, trying to bring to life a vision 3 years in the making. Independence is very important to us - we have a strong vision for the game that we do not want to compromise. This is why we’re convinced that the best way to keep that spirit alive and deliver a quality product is to ask other gamers for help directly. So far we’ve been working without any funding, but recently we launched a Kickstarter campaign. Hopefully it will allow us to keep fulfilling our dream of making a great game
