The First Female Hero [Tao] Meets You in the Summer Version - 6/18 Update notes


Hello Everyone!
The 2021 summer version meets you as scheduled.

In this update, we've introduced a new hero (the first female hero:), new weapons, a new random boss, revamped talent system, new occult scrolls, reincarnation difficulty, and more. We wish you would enjoy them! If you encounter any issues or have any suggestions, please feel free to contact us. We will value your opinions and try our best to optimize the game based on your feedback.

In addition, we have good news to share: Gunfire Reborn has sold over 1.5 million copies! We will continue our work and present you with more awesome content in this winter. Meanwhile, we prepare an early access 1st anniversary avatar frame for you. Players who own Gunfire Reborn before July 9, 2021 will get this avatar frame for free. Thank you all for your love and support!

Finally, the fourth stage that many players are looking forward to is under development. As we all know, this part of work requires a lot of time and resources. We will do our best to introduce the fourth stage in 1.0 version as planned. Please stay tuned~

  • Introduction:
    Tao, who is a master in the art of sword control, is keen to manipulate her royal flying sword to strike all foes. Meanwhile, she can condense her energy into petals, dealing hidden injuries against enemies with her [Fatal Bloom]


  • Unlock Requirement:Spend 400 soul essences

  • Skills:
    1.Primary Skill (E): Swords Out
    Unsheathe multiple flying swords, each dealing 200 DMG. The number of flying swords is determined by the stacks of [Blade Heart]. Each stack can summon 3 flying swords. For every 15 ammo consumed, gain 1 stack of [Blade Heart] (up to 6 stacks)


    2.Secondary Skill (Q): Fatal Bloom
    Summon petals in the front that explode outwards, marking all enemies within 6 meters and dealing 400 damage. The mark lasts for 6 seconds. [Fatal Bloom] deals DMG to a marked enemy again every time you hit it 12 times


  • Talents:
    1.Blade in Heart: +5% [Swords Out] DMG for every [Blade Heart] you have
    2.Galloping Speed: For each enemy you kill, +10% movement speed for 8s (up to 5 layers)
    3.Long-lasting Bloom: Restore 1 use for every 5 enemies marked by [Fatal Bloom]
    4.Superior Magazine: +30% Magazine Capacity and Reload Speed
    5.Resilient Shield:Recharge shield immediately after killing an enemy, and shield recharge won't be interrupted in 3s

    It is said that there was a fabled mountain in the distant sea, which is called the residence of the immortals. Once, there was a mythical snake that caused chaos in the sea. The immortals appeared and sealed it under the ocean's watery abyss. The sea waves began to calm down, and there was no trouble for thousands of years.
    Unlock Requirement: Kill [Yoruhime-Maru] 3 times


  • [Golem] Skill Adjustments:
    Reduced the time it takes to launch his fists in different difficulty, and increased the flying speed of fists
    Decreased the explosion range of the stone pillars when destroyed
    Increased the number and flying speed of homing stones when Golem’s HP is low
    Decreased the recovery time of certain skills

  • Adjusted manipulation duration for any monster: when manipulation effect is repeatedly applied to the same monster, the duration will be shortened. But the resistance effect will now only last 15 seconds instead of last forever

  • Increased the explosion range and DMG to monsters of the barrel carried by [Rogue Arsonist] when destroyed by players, and removed its explosion DMG to players.

  • *Each time you pass the reincarnation difficulty, you will unlock the next level of reincarnation difficulty. Currently reincarnation difficulty has 7 levels.

  • There are two new NPCs in reincarnation difficulty:
    Spiritual Remnant: appear at the entrance of each act in reincarnation difficulty, you can consume soul essences to obtain spiritual blessing which will enhance your attributes
    Phantom Peddler: randomly appear in stages of reincarnation difficulty, you can consume soul essences to buy enhanced weapons and occult scrolls

Summer Major Update Preview & Early Access 1-year Anniversary Thank-you letter

With summer just around the corner, the scheduled 2021 Summer Major Update is soon to be available free to all players. Based on the current development progress, we decide to release the major update on Jun. 18th.

The new features in this major update include: a long-anticipated heroine, a new random boss in Act 3, new weapons and adjustments to some legacy weapons, new occult scrolls and Talent 2.0. We're still tweaking and adjusting the new content, especially the new talent system. As of now, the current version of the newly-introduced features are still yet to meet our quality standard. With that being said, we will speed up the development process and strive to present the most satisfactory content as possible.

This month marks the first anniversary of the Early Access release of Gunfire Reborn. Looking back on the past year, we have gone through many ups and downs together, and the most invaluable gift we have received along the way is the devoted support and love from over 1-million players worldwide. This is the most effective catalyst for us to continue this wild ride with you. Thank you again for your feedback and love! Update Notes - 4/29/2021: Adjustments on Qing Yan, Ao Bai, weapons & scrolls

Hello everyone!
In this update, we have adjusted some Qing Yan’s and Ao Bai’s ascensions, added a new daily challenge theme, and optimized Wind God and some occult scrolls. Meanwhile, we are still looking forward to your feedback and suggestions. Our main focus is to develop new content as usual, so we may need more time to fix bugs and optimize the game. The next major update, which includes a new hero, a new boss, new weapons and more, will be released this summer. Please stay tuned.

[h3]Hero:[/h3]
  • Adjusted Ascensions of [Qing Yan]:
    (1)Elemental Power→All or Nothing
    Original: Leap DMG converts to elemental DMG with 50% Elemental Effect Chance
    New: Consume all armor when hitting an enemy with a leap. For every armor consumed, increase Leap DMG by 0.8%
    (2)Last Stand: After the armor breaks, increase weapon DMG and skill DMG by 20%/35%/50%→30%/60%/100%
    (3) Nova Release: The Lv.1 and Lv.2 ascension will also cast a Nova that damages surrounding enemies when the armor is broken. The DMG caused by Nova is equal to 20/35/50 times the max armor. The duration of the max armor bonus is now calculated independently per stack instead of refreshing entire duration.
    (4)Death Mark:
    Original: Leave a death mark for 4/5/6s for each enemy you hit with cleave.Enemies with death mark take +20%/30%/40% DMG. Movement speed +20%/25%/30% for 6/6/10s after you kill an enemy with death mark.
    New: Leave a death mark on each enemy you hit with cleave for 4/5/6s. Enemies with the mark receive additional 20/40%/60%% DMG from you (DMG bonus also applies to the cleave that leaves the mark). Movement speed +20%/25%/30% for 6s/6s/10s after you kill a marked enemy
    (5)Armor Enhancement:
    Original: Max Armor +30/60/100, Movement Speed +10%/20%/30%, for 6s after a leap
    Lv3 Ascension: Has 25% chance of be invincible for 0.5s when attacked
    New: When leaping, gain max armor +30/60/100 and +10%/20%/30% movement speed for 6s
    Lv3 Ascension: When injured during this period, there's a 25% chance to become invulnerable for 0.5s

  • Adjusted Ascensions of [Ao Bai]:
    (1)Last Shot→Ember Eruption
    Original: Weapon DMG +50%/75%/150% for the last shot in magazine
    New: When the remaining ammo in the magazine is not more than 30%/40%/50% (or only 1), increase weapon DMG by 40%/80%/120%
    (2)Unleashed Potential:
    Original: While dual-wielding, first 5/7/9 shots deal +100%/150%/200% DMG
    New: During dual-wielding, gain +3% weapon DMG and +1% lucky shot chance every 0.5s with continuous firing (up to 20 times). Lose 15% weapon DMG bonus and 5% lucky shot chance bonus every 0.5s when not firing, until all bonuses are lost
    (3)Grenade Master:
    Original: Grenades Capacity +2/4/6; 30%/35%/60% chance of not consuming a grenade
    New: Explosive Grenade Base DMG +100%/150%/200%; there is a 30%/35%/60% chance of not consuming a grenade
    (4)Mad Bomber:
    Original: Explosion DMG +30%/45%/60%, and gain immunity to explosion DMG
    New: Explosion DMG +20%/40%/60%, and +5%/7%/9% explosion DMG this time for each enemy you hit with explosive weapons or explosive grenades
    Lv 3 Ascension: for each enemy hit by explosion, +9% chance of dealing double DMG
    (5)Adrenal Rush: additionally recover 1%/1.5%/2% HP during this status
    (6)Precise Explosion:
    Original: Explosion DMG +50%/75%/100% if grenades and explosive weapons deal DMG to 1/1/≦3 enemies
    New: +30%/45%/60% DMG if grenades or explosive weapons deal DMG to 1/1/≦3 enemies
    (The DMG bonus is now multiplicative)
    (7)Survival Instinct:
    Original: While dual-wielding, Max HP +50/100/150
    Lv3 Ascension: Get 50% chance of recovering HP equivalent to DMG taken
    New: +20/40/60 Max HP. During dual-wielding, Max HP bonus is doubled
    Lv3 Ascension: There's a 50% chance of recovering HP equivalent to DMG taken when injured

    Balancing Changes:
  • [Thunder Storm]
    Adjusted to full-automatic weapon
    Optimized the animation during shooting
    Increased the explosion range of the lightning ball, which is summoned by the weapon skill, when the ball hits the enemy directly (1m->3m)

In this update, we have fixed some bugs, and optimized some scenes and animation assets to improve overall performance, therefore, the patch size is larger than usual. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  • [Talents]
    Content Adjustment on Lv.2 Talent:
    1. Original: Remove the elemental effect immediately after releasing [Fatal Current], and the damage taken in the next 2 seconds will be reduced by 60%
    Adjusted: After casting [Fatal Current], remove self elemental effect immediately. In the next 2s, gain immunity to elemental effect and reduce DMG taken by 60%
    2. Get a "patrimonial" sniper rifle
    Now provide a better "patrimonial" sniper rifle
    3. Added: -0.2s cooldown of [Fatal Current] upon every hit causing by [Chain Lightning]
    4. Added: Summon a thunderbolt to strike on the target when [Chain Lightning] only hits one enemy
    5. Original: After killing an enemy 15 meters away with a crit hit, the weapon damage will be increased by 0.5% permanently
    Adjusted: After killing an enemy 15 meters away with a crit hit, the weapon damage will be increased by 0.3% permanently

  • [Skills]
    1. [Chain Lightning]: Adjusted base DMG from 500 to 600
    2. The bonus weapon damage of [Thunderstrike] caused by [Fatal Current] is decreased from 200% to 100%
    3. The cooldown time of [Fatal Current] will start counting after the state ends

  • [Ascensions]
    1. Fulminous Zap:
    Original: -80% movement speed of the enemy hit by [Fatal Current] for 0.2s/0.3s/0.4s
    Adjusted: 0.4s/0.6s/1s
    2. Lightning from void: Have chance to trigger [Chain Lightning] by dealing critical hit. The base trigger probability of weapon with 4x CritX is increased from 50% to 70%
    3. Super Charge:
    Original: Recharge 3/4/6 shield for each damage dealt by [Chain Lightning]
    Adjusted: Max Shield +20/30/40 for 5/6/8s after [Chain Lightning] inflicts damage, and recharge 4/5/8 shield each hit caused by [Chain Lightning]
    4. Storm Blast: [Thunderstrike] no longer triggers a crit hit necessarily when the ascension is at Lv.3
    5. Magical Supply:
    Original: Once [Thunderstrike] kills the enemy, the ammo consumed will be recovered and [Fatal Current] will be launched. However, -25% duration for this [Fatal Current], down to 2s
    Adjusted: Once [Thunderstrike] kills an enemy, the ammo consumed will be recovered and [Fatal Current] will be launched with -30% duration

  • The effect of the challenge event [Fewer monsters remains, stronger attributes they have] now can also boost movement speed of enemies.
  • Increased the healing parameter in the challenge event [Monster will cure other monsters around based on lost HP].
  • Increased the spawn rate of traps, reduced DMG caused by traps, and shortened the duration for traps in the challenge event [Traps will be spawned beneath the hero once in a while].

  • New Mechanism for [Frenzied Shark]: The detection radius would be increased based on the number of bounces (won't exceed the AoE radius)
  • Optimized Mechanism for [Shrieker]:
    Base DMG: 605->555
    CritX: 2.0->1.5
    Piercing: 2->1
    Explosion Range: 4m-> 3m when hitting an enemy, 5m when hitting a barrier
    Charge Time: 1.32s->0.9s

  • Adjusted the amount of coins dropped, and reduced the cost for upgrading weapons

  • Adjustments to defensive and shielding monsters:
  • [Defensive]:
    Damage caused by hitting enemies' weaknesses would not be affected by the damage reduction
    In [Longling Tomb] & [Basement of Longling], defensive enemies would receive 40% damage reduction for their non-weakness spots being hit
    In [Anxi Desert] & [Desert Ruins], defensive enemies would receive 50% damage reduction for their non-weakness spots being hit
    In [Duo Fjord] & [Shoreside Valley], defensive enemies would receive 60% damage reduction for their non-weakness spots being hit
  • [Shielding]:
    In [Longling Tomb] & [Basement of Longling], shielding enemy would offer 10% of max HP or max shield/armor (if any) to itself and all enemies nearby
    In [Anxi Desert] & [Desert Ruins], shielding enemy would offer 20% of max HP or max shield/armor (if any) to itself and all enemies nearby
    In [Duo Fjord] & [Shoreside Valley], shielding enemy would offer 30% of max HP or max shield/armor (if any) to itself and all enemies nearby
  • Adjusted the hitbox of the weaknesses on [Ichthyosaurus Offspring] during phase 1

  • Daily challenge effect adjustment:
    The bonus effect [After revival, enemy's HP -50% while attack and movement speed greatly increase] of [Resurgency] is now a main effect
    The bonus effect [When you have different numbers of Legendary Scrolls and Cursed Scrolls, +30% lucky shot chance for each difference] of [Unpredictable Fortune] is tweaked. Now each difference would grant 40% lucky shot chance
    In [Economic Pressure], destroying summoned enemies would no longer deduct copper. And players cannot apply elemental effect to pots
    Normal ammo no longer dropped in [Elite Sniper]
  • Added titles of bonus effects in daily challenges

  • Fixed an issue where the occult scroll would be destroyed when players have got the particular scroll from other players beforehand, and try to buy the same scroll from a peddler, or obtain it from a red chest
  • Fixed an issue where players cannot choose other archives when one of them is corrupted
