Welcome back everyone.
We hope that you enjoyed our previous article, looking at the pillars that make up
BioGun! If you haven't read it yet, make sure to do so
here.
With the overall scene of
BioGun established, we're going to focus more on the residence of Penny.
But wait, who is Penny? Well, though you can name the dog that Bek is fighting to save, canonically, the dog's name is Penny. So, from here on, when we refer to 'Penny' it means the host dog.
By setting the game within a dog's body, on a microscopic level, we can give life to a host of entities, from single-celled organisms to other vaccines, and mysterious beings that we think (and hope) are friends.

DocX
Though some would call him arrogant, eccentric, and even a loner, no one can question his dedication to saving dogs from the deadly Dooper Virus.
And while everyone else has given up, DocX alone stands at the forefront of the Veterinarian community, developing vaccine after vaccine in a desperate attempt to find a way to defeat the Dooper Virus.

His first four attempts have failed miserably, going so bad as to make things worse, however, with his fourth attempt, the creation of Bek, he is cautiously optimistic that this time he has been able to properly overcome the hurdles placed before him and take the fight to the Dooper Virus!
Bek
The hero of
BioGun, Bek is the fourth vaccine developed by DocX and the first to show promising results. As a vaccine, he is a modified version of the Dooper Virus, but unlike the previous failed attempts at creating a vaccine, Bek incorporates pig's DNA. Why is that vital? It brings him back to the root of the Dooper Virus. Check out our pillars article to refresh your memory on Bek and why this is important.

In the game, Bek was born yesterday (literally 1 day ago in the game world), and though he is very young, his self-belief is to the max. He sees himself as a buff, bodybuilder type who is highly capable of taking on any threat, however, he remains humble and is eager to prove himself and help out anyone in need.
The Chip Sisters!

The Microorganic Chip Sisters are a trio of sentient chips created by the ingenious DocX and have been embedded into Penny since she was but a young puppy. Their mission is simple, to safeguard Penny from internal threats. Though the Dooper Virus is by far their greatest threat, their individual abilities and traits, as well as their unmatched synergy when working together give them good reason to be confident in their ability to see their mission through.

Phoebe: The Beacon of Vitality
Phoebe is the defacto leader of the Microoganic Chip sisters. Tasked with monitoring Penny's vital signs and biometrics, she plays a pivotal role as DocX's trusted assistant. What's more, though the inhabitants of Penny's body view Bek with suspicion, they love and adore Phoebe thanks to the way that she genuinely cares for everyone that she meets
Penelope: Unveiling the Veils of Biology
Contrasting Phoebe's sociable behavior, Penelope can be seen as more of an introvert, preferring solitude as she delves into her careful examinations of deceased bacteria and viruses. Her expertise in dissecting the many microbes serves as a cornerstone in DocX's quest to develop an effective countermeasure against the many internal threats. Now more than ever, she is hyper-fixated on unraveling the mysteries of the Dooper Virus.
Yet, despite her preference for solitude, Penelope's contributions are well known to all, and she is indispensable in the fight against the Dooper Virus.

Piper: Architect of Ingenuity
Completing the trio is Piper. She assumes the role of the trio's logistical backbone, making sure that everyone is well-supplied and has the tools and facilities that they need.
The Atomic Bath station and the Injection Zones are two of the most vital inventions she's made so far, giving Bek a real advantage over the Dooper Virus. Resourcefulness and adaptability are her two biggest strengths, and everyone who calls Penny's body home is eternally thankful to her.
Nisms: Unsung Heroes of BioGun
We mentioned "Nisms" previously, but what exactly are they? A Nism is a collective term for all single-celled entities that make up Penny, think of them as the civilians of the body.

Though they are under a huge amount of stress thanks to the Dooper Virus infection, they remain tireless and even optimistic during their day-to-day work.
The W.B.C: Guardians of Vigilance
The W.B.C stands for Wound and Bacteria Control, but we know them better by their collective term, the White Blood Cells.

These fearless cells are Penny's stalwart defenders and even when under the relentless onslaught of the Dooper Virus, they remain unwavering in their resolve to tackle all microbial threats.
Yet, despite their formidable abilities, the W.B.C are skeptical towards Bek. After all, the previous 3 vaccines were once hailed as heroes, yet they ultimately failed and turned against Penny.
Otterman: Architect of Innovation
The Antibodies are dead, all wiped out during the initial invasion of the Dooper Virus. Well, all but one are dead. Thanks to Project Bio-Gun, a single Antibody survived, that antibody is Otterman.

Otterman is well aware of his situation and knows that he cannot directly fight against the Dooper Virus. However, unlike his fallen brothers, he was able to transcend his initial role and now harnesses his ingenuity to develop items, merchandise, tools, and more, all aimed at fortifying Penny's immune resilience. You can find his many inventions and innovations for sale in the Bio-Shop that he runs, and the many Bio-Marts that he's installed throughout Penny's body.
Splicer: An Enigmatic Manipulator
An enigmatic figure shrouded in mystery, Splicer defines the word ambiguity, blurring the lines between friend and foe.

Armed with the arcane ability of splicing, Splicer (an apt name, right?) manipulates cellular structures to incomprehensible ends.
His motives are veiled in a fog of uncertainty and no one can quite settle on whether he is a friend or a foe. If you meet him, stay on guard, or don't, what's the worst that can happen?

This brings us to the end of this write up. Now, that’s not to say that there are not more characters, there are many more vital ones. For example, every organ has an avatar, or speaker that you will interact with as you play through BioGun. However, we don’;t want to spoil everything right now, so we’ll be diving into those characters at a later date, perhaps even more in depth.
We hope that you’ve enjoyed this write up, so make sure to join us for the next one!
