6/11 (Thu) Regular Maintenance Update Details

Greetings, this is Shadow Arena.
Here are the updates made to Shadow Arena during the regularly scheduled maintenance on June 11 (Thu).
* Patch Size: 894.39 MB (Approx.)
Check out all the details below, and we will see you in the arena!
We apologize for the late update.
As we were implementing improvements to Team mode, we encountered an issue that made Team mode unplayable. Unfortunately, our update was delayed by us needing to roll back to the existing version.
Today’s update brings with it the newest Hero “Tagahl”, changes to basic attacks, and other important additions. As mentioned on Tuesday, we have changed the promotion requirements, making it easier to climb up to higher tiers. There are also many more changes beyond this as well.
■ Major Update - New Hero “Tagahl”
- Tagahl, a new hero, has been added.
> The Last Sherekhan, Tagahl is a hero who wields his signature “glaive” to deliver wide-scale, devastating blows.
▶ Learn more about Tagahl Sherekhan (GM Note)
- Added Titles for achieving Tagahl’s Mastery levels.
> Tagahl Rookie
> Tagahl Expert
> Tagahl Master
The newly introduced Tagahl Sherekhan is a large-statured Hero who overwhelms foes with his long reach and powerful, albeit slow, attacks. Most of his skills innately lower defense to blow away opponents, but because of this, he doesn’t have that many ways to continue combos.
Instead, he can pressure foes with his devastating power and reach to end fights decisively. Unlike other Heroes, Tagahl’s basic side attack (A,D+LMB) is a little slower but can push back enemies and can also be used to start combos.

As previously announced in the update notes for Tuesday, we’ve changed the points required for promotions.
So, if you were previously a Bronze tier player who finishes their promotion matches successfully, you’ll probably reach the top of Silver. If you were previously in Silver, you might even climb to Gold.
However, the top tier players in Diamond and Platinum won’t see any big changes.
■ Heroes
- Fixed the short stiffness/stagger caused by Basic Attacks (includes Forward Attacks and Side/Lateral Attacks), Kicks, Rolling Basic Attacks, and certain Weak Attacks to no longer interrupt certain actions.
> Note: Basic Attacks will still interrupt Skills.
This is one of the biggest changes in this update.
One of the most difficult parts of the game that new players had to adjust to was how basic attacks were able to interrupt many actions. Thus, we wanted to slightly fix the mechanics behind basic attack.
Same as before, Basic Attacks will still interrupt “Skills” without Super Armor. However, Basic Attacks will now no longer interrupt each other, and this includes no longer interrupting Kicks and Rolls as well.
In other words, you now can trade basic attacks back and forth with your opponents, and you can always count on Kicks/Rolls to go through Basic Attacks.

- Fixed an issue where the CC debuff would last longer than 1 second when affected by the stiffness/stagger from Basic Attacks, Forward Attacks, and Side/Lateral Attacks
While in the process of making changes to Basic Attacks, there were some side-effects that we fixed with today’s update.
- Fixed an issue where trying to use Kick caused it to enter cooldown without the skill being used.
- Fixed an issue where other players appeared to be aiming at a different direction than their actual direction when using projectile skills.
- Fixed an issue where rapidly turning when using certain projectile skills caused the projectile to appear as if it hit even though damage was not inflicted.
> [Jordine] Spear of Serendia (1)
> [Yeonhwa] Head Shot (1)
> [Ahon Kirus] Dark Mark (1), Sun of Destruction (4)
> [Herawen] Fairy Flame (RMB), Seed of Ice (1), Ancient Dragon’s Breath (2)
> [Badal the Golden] Helix Cannon (1)
This fix is for a bug where any changes at the moment when you cast a projectile attack caused a desync between you and the player that is being hit, which resulted in either the attack appearing strangely or being ineffective. Nevertheless, we’ll continue to look for any additional causes and fix them.

- Thunder Rip (3): Fixed an issue where the damage from triggering a mark was 3 times that of Mirage (4).
> Note: Both skills’ trigger damage is the same.

- Fallen Flower (RMB): Fixed an issue with the skill description incorrectly stating the attack speed buff as a movement speed buff.

- Sleeve Tangler (2): Fixed an issue where the skill description for the Ultimate Level did not display the maximum damage correctly.
- Thunder Breaker (3): Fixed an issue where the skill’s hits sometimes did not register on Dark Shift.
Due to the changes to the basic attack mechanics, there aren’t any big changes regarding Hero balance since the update on Tuesday. We’ll keep a watch on how balance continues to shift this week and make adjustments again next week.
■ Monsters
- Adjusted the Specters that were spawned from Jump Gates to drop at least Blue-grade weapons and sub-weapons.
We’ve adjusted the equipment grade for items dropped by the Jump Gate Specters as we felt it was too high before.
■ Gameplay Modes
- Adjusted the minimum number of players needed for a Team match to 20.
- Chat type will now change to ”Party” when entering Team mode as a team.
Team mode is currently less popular than Solo mode, which means you usually have to wait longer for a match to start. Therefore, we’ve adjusted the minimum number of players to start a game to 20 to lower the wait time.
Also, we’ve changed the chat option to be Party (Team) when starting a match in Team mode.
We’ve recently began to make improvements to Team mode, and we hope to implement them soon.
