Regional Cup – Weekly Tryout (Asia)

Greetings, this is Shadow Arena.

A fierce competition with 10 million KRW is on the line!

The Regional Cup that everyone has been waiting for returns once again.
In this Regional Cup, a “Weekly Tryout” format has been added to present the thrill and joy of competition to more players.

The Regional Cup and Weekly Tryout will all be held in Solo mode.
Please stay tuned for the future Team mode competitions that we are preparing.

* The times listed below are in UTC+9. ※ Tournament schedule is subject to change and will be updated in this notice.

Weekly Tryouts are held for 3 weeks before Regional Cup and is comprised of 4 Preliminaries and 1 Finals per week.
Additionally, this upcoming Regional Cup and Weekly Tryout will be held with the new tournament entry system which is detailed below.

* Tournament entry system
All players participating in the tournament will use “tickets” to enter a custom match room created for the tournament. There are Preliminary, Finals, and Special tickets and details can be found below:

1) Preliminary ticket
- Ticket given to all players to enter the preliminary round of the tournament
- The Preliminary tickets to participate in the Weekly Tryout Preliminaries will be given during the September 3 (Thurs) maintenance to all accounts created before the maintenance start time, and additional tickets will be given out every Thursday maintenance of Weekly Tryout.
- All Preliminary tickets still in possession after the week’s Preliminary will be deleted during the Thursday maintenance of the same week.


2) Finals ticket
- Ticket given to players who passed the preliminary round of the tournament to enter the final round of the tournament
- You will not be able to participate in the Preliminary of that week if you obtain the Finals ticket.
- All Finals tickets still in possession after the week’s Finals will be deleted during the Thursday maintenance of the same week.


3) Special ticket
- A ticket given to specific or all players to enter Regional Cup, GM event matches, or other special event matches
- Special tickets to participate in the Regional Cup Preliminaries will be given to all participants upon announcement of bracket on October 5 (Mon) and any Special tickets still in possession will be deleted after the Preliminaries.
- Special tickets to participate in the Regional Cup Finals will be given to the finalists on October 15 (Thurs) maintenance and any Special tickets still in possession will be deleted during October 22 (Thurs) maintenance.

[h2]Weekly Tryout[/h2]
Weekly Tryout is divided into the Preliminaries where all players can participate and the Finals where the top 10 rankings from the Preliminaries enter. Here are the details:

■ Heroes Eligible to Participate
- Jordine Ducas, Yeonhwa, Ahon Kirus, Gerhard Shultz, Haru, Herawen, Orwen, Badal the Golden, Goyen, Venslar, Tagahl Sherekhan, Lahn, Gorgath, Igrid

■ Event Format and Scoring System
1) Weekly Tryout Preliminaries
① Total of 4 Preliminary matches will be held per week and maximum 40 players enter by order of arrival for each match.
② The match will start automatically at match start time or when all participants have entered.
③ Top 10 survivors from each match will receive the Finals ticket needed to advance to the Finals.

2) Weekly Tryout Finals
① Total of 4 rounds
② The match will start automatically at match start time or when all participants have entered.
③The final rankings will be determined by the sum of points earned from each round, as noted in the Scoring System

■ Finals Cash Prizes and Rewards

* MVP : The MVP will be selected by the votes of the broadcast team and observers for the player that displayed the most amazing plays.

* Regional Cup Finals qualification
Reaching first in the Weekly Tryout Finals advances you to the Regional Cup finals without Regional Cup entry application or Preliminaries.

If a same player obtains the Finals qualification more than 2 times, only their first week’s performance will be counted, and the next highest ranked player will receive the Finals qualification.

Weekly Tryout Finals will be streamed live to all global Shadow Arena players through Twitch, AfreecaTV, Youtube, and DouyuTV.

[h2]Regional Cup[/h2]
Regional Cup is a tournament where any player ranked Silver V or higher in the server where the tournament will take place in can join.
Preliminaries will be held using separate entry application and 37 players who have passed the Preliminaries will be put together with 3 finalists from the Tryout.

Details regarding the entry application and heroes eligible for use will be notified in separate notice.


■ Entry Qualifications
- Ranked Silver V or higher in the server the tournament will take place in.

■ Tournament Format and Placements 1) Regional Cup Preliminaries
① Each Group Preliminaries will have 2 rounds and 1 Special ticket will be used to enter the Group Preliminaries.
* Special tickets to participate in the Regional Cup Preliminaries will be given to all participants upon announcement of bracket on October 5 (Mon) and any Special tickets still in possession will be deleted after the Preliminaries.
② The match will start automatically at match start time or when all participants have entered.
③ Top 37 players will be determined based on the sum of all points earned from each round to advance to the Finals.
* After the Group Preliminaries, players will advance to the Finals by order of highest points earned per Group. The number of advancing players may change depending on the number of total participants and group organization.


2) Regional Cup Finals
① The Finals will have total of 4 rounds and 1 Special ticket will be used to enter the Finals.
* Special tickets to participate in the Regional Cup Finals will be given to the finalists on October 15 (Thurs) maintenance and any Special tickets still in possession will be deleted during October 22 (Thurs) maintenance.
② The match will start automatically at match start time or when all participants have entered.
③ The final rankings will be determined by the sum of points earned from each round, as noted by the Scoring System below.

■ Scoring System
* If two or more players have the same amount of total points, the points of the last round will determine the final placements.
- However, if the points of the last round are tied, the final placements will be determined by the survival ranking for that round.


■ Prize
* MVP : The MVP will be selected by the votes of the broadcast team and observers for the player that displayed the most amazing plays.

All Regional Cup matches will be streamed live to all global Shadow Arena players through Twitch, AfreecaTV, Youtube, and DouyuTV.

※ Additional Notices
- Weekly Tryout finalists and Regional Cup finalists will receive a tournament participant Discord server invite via in-game mail and all tournament related announcements will be shared in there. (Modified)
- Used tickets will be not restored upon leaving the match room after entering. Please make sure to enter after all preparations are complete.
- You may only participate in the tournament with the heroes listed in the “Heroes Eligible to Participate” section. You may be kicked without warning if you enter with a Hero that is not allowed.
- The prize money for the Weekly Tryout finals and Regional Cup will be sent after the end of the Regional Cup playoffs.
- Pearl Abyss may collect (with your agreement) your personal information to deliver any prizes. If you do not submit your personal information within the collection period, we may be unable to send you the prize money.
- Pearl Abyss reserves the right to change/cancel the event depending on mitigating circumstances. If changes are made, they can be found on this event page.
