■ Fixed Major Bugs
- Fixed the issue where the Black Spirit Skill would be displayed as “Breakfall” if the character resurrected after dying from a death match.
- Fixed the issue where Black Spirit Skills could not be used if you switch to another Hero in death matches.
- Fixed the issue where the character occasionally stood up right after falling down and maintained their Invincibility.
- Fixed the issue where the “Ignore DP” effect would be applied if the character was equipped with a Hunting Bow.

As we were reviewing the new tier point system that came with the Pre-Season, we noticed that the players of Diamond III or higher tiers woud get their tier points taken off when they achieved the 1st place. In this update, we made adjustments for players of higher tiers to not have their points taken off when ranking 1st.
■ Hero
| For all heroes
- Fixed the issue where the character could “Roll” if they get up after falling down with cooldown left.
- Fixed the issue where the character would temporarily freeze if they used “Roll” from a sitting or lying position.
- Reduced the cooldown of “Roll” from 4 sec to 3 sec.
- Using “Roll” while sitting will now have the same effect as to using “Roll” from a standing position. The actions will have the below effects:
> Invincibility during “Roll”, consume 20 Stamina, cooldown 3 sec

| Fallen Flower (RMB)
- Fixed the issue where the character would not perform “upward strike” but dash continuously until she consumed all of her stamina if the player pressed LMB while holding RMB.
- Improved so that the upward strike would only be performed in the direction of the camera’s viewpoint.
| Red Moon (R)
- Improved so that the Invincibility effect would right away be applied with the skill casting action.
| Dark Mark (Q)
- Improved so that the skill can be used while moving.
> However, using the skill while moving will consume Stamina.
| Shadow Explosion (E)
- Improved so that the skill can be used while moving.
> However, using the skill while moving will consume Stamina.

- Increased the default HP from 6,300 to 6,800.

- Fixed the issue where, if she jumped while sprinting, she would fall from the air before she reached the full jumping distance.
> Improved so that she will slightly move forward while falling.
- Damage of skills used in stealth mode will now apply 15% more damage.

- Improved so that the buff effect animation would not appear in stealth mode.

| Light of Sylvia (RMB)
- Improved so that the skill can be used while moving.
- All allies’ extra AP against Monsters will increase by 50 for 5 sec when using the skill.

- Improved so that she could use the skill while moving.
- Increased the radius of Heilang’s detection range of party members when using Heilang: Roar by 15m.
- All allies’ extra AP against Monsters will increase by 50 for 10 sec when using the skill.

- Improved so that the skill can be used diagonally.

- Improved so that the skill can be used while moving.

- She will now move the same distance when performing “Roll” as other Heroes.

| Altar Destroyer (E)
- Added a defense effect to be applied while casting the skill.
- Changed so that the skill cannot be cancelled with Thunder Strike.
| Avalanche (R)
- Increased the hit success range while dashing by 30%.
- Fixed the issue where other skills could be used while grabbing an enemy.

- Changed the moving distance of her Backward Roll to be as same as those of the other heroes.

- Fixed the issue where there was a camera shake if she switched to the standby motion after using the skill.
- Improved the camera effect displayed when making attacks.

[Dev’s notes]
With the start of new season, we made renovations mainly on the support type heroes. We significantly simplified/reduced the action of the skill as it appears in Venslar’s Switch Stance (RMB) or changed some skills to be used while moving as in Herawen’s Thunder Viper(E). These improvements were made in order to enhance the control of heroes and heighten the fun of the battle. Furthremore, on top of encompassing the players’ opinions, we went through an internal review of the play pattern of each hero to enhance the overall balance, convenience, and the satisfaction of each hit. These factors will be continuously pondered on in upcoming patches as we continue to improve the game and create a better and more exciting experience for everyone.

- Fixed the issue where, if the character reached a certain destination point, a quest would not end even after the quest objective’s visual effect had disappeared.

- Changed so that some unnecessary highlights are not repeated in the Guide.
- Fixed the issue where the Shadow Guards would occasionally not appear in the Control Tutorial.
- Changed so that the Scarecrow in the [Control Tutorial] - [Basic Attack Tutorial] only appear at the center.
- Changed so that the Shadow Wizard in the [Contro Tutorial] - [Roll Tutorial] cannot be defeated.
- Improved so that, in the In-game Tutorial, the Black Spirit will have more lines to explain the defeat effect as the character approaches a monster or an object to defeat them.
- Improved so that, in the In-game Tutorial, monsters would not appear in the direction away from that of the quest process.
- Fixed the issue where the ally Herawen AI would use Light of Sylvia continuously throughout the Tutorial.

Item purchases have become the central strategy for the character’s growth, since growing with appropriately purchased items contributed greatly to the victory. Furthermore, we have continuously added unique effects such as “Back Attack Damage, Ignore DP buff, and Recover HP per hit” in order for players to take various strategies with item combinations. We are continuously developing and planning to add more effects that will benefit team battles or help characterizing each character’s play style. As such, the Shop system plays a main role for the character’s growth, but the fact that Shadow Arena is an “Action game” remains unchanged where the “battle system” is its most important identity. Up to this point, it was common to see how battles turned into unilateral defeats, since some items’ effects were just too good alone, while the battle system lacked a “time-out” to protect defeating teams. This resulted in extreme situations where the weaker team could not even hurt their opponent or where the battle ended too quickly without a real ping-pong. Many players only remember being defeated abruptly or upsettingly instead of having “played” an exciting battle where their Heroes‘ unique abilities and concepts were well expressed. Therefore, we have downgraded the item effects in general in the hope of seeing more substantial balance in team fights and creative variables even between the teams of different levels of strength. Of course, item effects that work with each Hero’s concept and improve the fun (i.e. HP Recovery buff) will be continuously added. Furthermore, apart from the Shop system, we are also considering ideas like a “Mastery system” where players can plan and customize their play style just as we mentioned in the last Dev’s notes.
| Monster
- Fixed the issue where, when Varigord is supposed to chase after its enemy, it moves a short distance and goes back to its original place.
- Increased the HP of Shadow Trolls from 15,000 to 18,000.
- Changed so that the Shadow Trolls, which used to appear 1 min after the game starts, will now appear as a crowd of 20 at a designated spot.
- A band of Trolls will appear at the designated spot below instead of randomly-spawned Shadow Trolls:
> Changed so that 7 of other regular monsters appear with the Shadow Trolls as their guards.
> With the defeat of these monsters, you will obtain the half of tokens you would get from defeating regular monsters that appear at each phase.
> However, at the 4-minute and 7-minute marks, a band of Trolls will appear at “random” spots just as before (only the Trolls spawned at the 1-minute mark will appear at a fixed spot).
- Changed the tokens obtainable by defeating a monster or an objective as below.
> Reduced the tokens obtainable by defeating a Shadow Soldier (Phase 1) from 50 to 40.
> Reduced the tokens obtainable by defeating a Shadow Warrior (Phase 2) from 70 to 60.
> Reduced the tokens obtainable by defeating a Shadow Fighter (Phase 3) from 100 to 80.

- Changed the obtainable amount of bonus tokens when approaching the Relic of Time as below:
> Beginner Level Token : (Before) 30 → (Now) 10

- Changed the obtainable amount of bonus tokens when defeating Shadow Trolls, Shadow Knight Captains, Shamans, and Stoneback Crabs as below:
> (Before) Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Level Tokens were dropped, and if the character took one of them, the rest disappeared.
→ (Now) Five Beginner-Level Tokens will appear and last for 5 sec. The character may obtain all during that 5 sec.
| Blackstar Fragment
- Eliminated the Blackstar Fragment which used to appaer along the road or randomly appeared across the arena.
- Changed so that they appear at 5 locations in 0 min (immediately), 1~2 min, and 3~4 min after the game starts.
> Immediately after the game starts: App. 2 appear each at 5 locations.
> 1 min ~ 2 min past : App. 5 appear each at 5locations.
> 3 min ~ 4 min past : App. 8 appear each at 5 locations.
- Added to the legend of concentrated areas of Blackstar Fragments and marked with shade on the World Map.
[Dev’s notes]
We acknowledge how simple grinding play pays off as of right now, attracting players to rather easily obtain the six high-rank items at the later stage of the game without really experiencing the thrills of battle. This enabled games to progress faster, as players focused on looting rather than competing over objectives. However, it was indeed a factor that made the game loose and boring. Therefore, we reduced the general amount of tokens obtainable by defeating mosters/objectives and slowed the prgress of the game. Instead, we added points such as “Troll Band” and “Blackstar Fragment-concentrated areas” in the hope of increasing the benefit of a strategic team play. For teams with similar strategies, competitions will naturally arise even from the earlier stage of the game.
For the “Troll Band,” 7 normal monsters will appear around the Trolls as default. Therefore, we recommend defeating the monsters at a farther distance first or bringing a support-type hero with you to the Troll hunt. On top of this, the “Blackstar Fragment” used to rather be a lucky benefit for stronger teams than a useful strategic device, since it randomly appeared across the arena or only made concentrated appearances at the nearby roads of the Shrine. Therefore, we changed this to appear 3 times along the outskirts so that teams will have to give up obtaining other objectives that appear at the same time and instead make use of the Blackstar Fragment as the their growth strategy.
| Red Dragon’s Offering
- Reduced the damage of the flame by 28.5%.
[Dev’s notes]
Since the effects of defensive items have been downgraded, we have adjusted the damage of the Red Dragon accordingly. We also expect this to help players cope with the Red Dragon that appears with the Light of Ascension.
| Dark Fog
- Changed so that the HP of the characters outside the Dark Fog would be reduced by 350.
> (Before) 500 → (Now) 350
| Light of Ascension
- Changed so that, when the Light of Ascension appears, the DP of nearby Heroes is not reduced by 10% every minute.
- Changed so that, when the Light of Ascension appears, the AP of nearby heroes increasees by 100 every minute.
> The AP will increase up to 500.
[Dev’s notes]
The DP-decrease effect was applied on a percentage basis at the Light of Ascension, which was somehow unfair to the players who prefer purchasing defensive items. However, since completely elimintating the additional effects of the Light of Ascension would lead to the reduced fun of the battle, we substituted it with the gradual increase in AP.
■ Monster/Objective Notification
- Added a notification system at the bottom of the Party Members UI which displays the remaining time and location of the next selected objective.

- You may select monsters or objectives to add to the UI by filling checkboxes on the World Map (TAB).

- Objectives that do not have fixed appearance times cannot be added to this UI for notification.
■ UI
- Changed the icons of Shadow Trolls, Shadow Knight Captains, and Shadow Shamans.

- Fixed the issue where the objectives appearance time on the World Map would sometimes be 2-3 sec slower than their actual appearance time.
- Changed the colors of “Help!” ping message to red and “Fight!” ping message to green.
- Changed so that the location of ping messages unseen on the screen appears on the screen.
- Changed so that the location of the ping message is shown on the minimap as an arrow if it was sent from outside the visible area on the minimap.
