June 10 (Thu) Update Details




Here are the updates made to Shadow Arena during the maintenance on June 10 (Thu).

[h3]Major Fixes and Improvements [/h3]

- Fixed an issue where a player could not be revived after unexpectedly dying during a duel.
> Due to this fix, we also fixed an issue where players were unable to use items or move after the match started.
- Fixed an issue where Heilang could be summoned twice if a duel was canceled.
- Made improvements for an issue where you could get stuck in the ground when flying in Black Spirit form.
- Fixed an issue where the Haru AI’s Mirage (E) skill had abnormally high damage.
> Reduced the skill’s maximum number of hits from 8 to 4.
- Fixed an issue where the message "The party is full." would appear and auto-matching failed
after finding opponents via auto matching.
- Fixed an issue where entering a menu besides Trio mode would cause a notification message to appear that tells you to leave the party even though you are not in a party.
- Fixed an issue where using a skill right after using a Matchlock would cause the skill to deal higher damage against monsters.
> Increased the transition time after firing a Matchlock to using another skill by approximately 0.33 seconds.
> Decreased the transition time after firing a Matchlock to performing another action (except skills) by approximately 0.78 seconds.



[h3]Tier Point System [/h3]

- The Tier points now yield more points based on your final ranking of the match.

- Adjusted the point calculation system according to the average tier of team members / average tier of all players in game as below.
> Before: (Average tier of players in the current game - Average tier of my team) / 3
> Now: (Average tier of players in the current game - Average tier of my team)
> ex ) If the average tier of players in the current game is 20 and the average tier of my team is 10, (20 – 10) = 10 additional points are earned


※ Total tier point calculation method
- Basic Point Deduction per Tier + Rank Points + Average tier of my team - Average tier of players in game + {(Kill + Assist) / 4}

[Dev’s Note]

We have adjusted the tier point system to increase the point gap according to the difference between average tiers. In summary, if a team's average tier is higher than the average tier in the game, they’ll receive only a few points. However, if a team's tier is lower than the average tier in the game, they'll receive more points.

Example: If my tier is Platinum 1 (20), team member A is Silver 4 (7), and another team member B is Silver 5 (6) while the average tier of all players in game is Platinum 2 (19), the tier points will be calculated based on the following formula.
→ Additional points : (Me + Team member A + Team member B)/3 - Average tier in game
= 19 - (20 + 7 + 6)/3
= +8 additional points

However, my team would earn fewer points if the average tier of the team was higher than the average tier of the players in the game. This adjustment is the reflection of statistics where teams with higher average tier points got higher chance of victory.

To balance with the statistics, we have adjusted the deduction/addition rate of points according to the average tier.



[h3]Matching System [/h3]


- Improved so that the matching system will be more subdivided and rooms will have more categories.
- Changed so that, if the number of players online reached a certain number to create an arena for top ranks, only up to 2 AI player teams could enter in that game.
- Fixed the issue where, after a game was over, even the players you did not invite would remain in the party.

[Dev’s Note]
In the improved matching system, players will be split into high-ranking or lower-ranking bracket based on the average points of created parties once there are enough players in the game. In addition, we have limited the number of AI team to 2 for top rank match to prevent it from being filled with only AI teams. However, players may have to wait longer for other top ranks team enter the room.

We also have fixed some important issues regarding the matching system. We apologize for giving you an inconvenience with such basic features. Currently, we are reviewing issues mainly about basic features from all areas including the matching system, and we will continuously make adjustments.


[h3]Penalty for Leaving [/h3]


- Activated a penalty for leaving.
> The penalty for leaving is 60 sec for the first time, and 1 more minute is accumulated for each additional time.
> The accumulated penalty for leaving is reset daily at midnight.
Asia server: Resets at 00:00 (UTC+9) everyday
NA, EU/Russia server: Resets at 00:00 (UTC+0) everyday
- Changed so that, if you left the party before entering the Hero Selection Screen, the penalty for leaving would not be applied to you.


[h3]■ Mastery System [/h3]

- Added a new mastery skill (Q).

▲ Press the Mastery button and select A or B to use as a Q skill.

- Players can only choose A or B to use as their Q skill from the mastery menu in the character selection screen.
>Example: If you selected [Shield Charge A] as your Q skill, you cannot use [Shield Charge B]. If you selected [Shield Charge B] as your Q skill, you cannot use [Shield Charge A].

- The following mastery skills were added for each hero. (Updated)

- Added a message that ask players to save their mastery changes if they accidentally closed the screen without saving their changes.




[h3]Hero [/h3]


| All
- Reduced the duration of "Bleed" effect from 5 sec to 4 sec.
- Added the new Mastery skill.
> New Mastery skills for each hero are as below.

[Dev’s Note]
With the last update, we added the “Bleed” debuff as a strategy to be used against players who continuously recover HP and survive.
However, since the Bleeding effect (HP recovery reduction by 40% for 5 sec) was too strong that it was extremely hard to survive from the debuff. Therefore, we reduced its duration to 4 sec and changed its HP recovery reduction rate to 10%~40% depending on the skill’s difficulty level and different conditions.



- Reduced his basid HP from 10000 to 9000.
| Shield of Heidel(RMB)
- Reduced the skill’s DP buff effect from +250 to +200.

[Dev’s Note]
Although Jordine’s dealing ability was not quite low, his survival ability was too high compared to other heroes. Therefore, we reduced his basic HP and the DP buff effect of Shield of Heidel.


| Bond Cut(RMB)
- Fixed the issue where, when she used the skill, she would teleport to her enemy and strike them.
- Increased the skill’s instant dash distance by app. 20%.

| Clairvoyance (Q)
- Improved so that the damage value written in the skill description would match the actual amount.

| Red Moon (R)
- Improved so that, while using the skill, you may click RMB to strike the last hit.

[Dev’s Note]
In the last update, Bond Cut was changed which allowed Yeonhwa to immediately teleport next to the target after the initial attack.
This improvement was to address the issue where it was difficult to land a hit using Bond Cut depending on the terrain at which the skill was used. However, this greatly improved Yeonhwa's performance since it allowed her to latch onto targets. To remedy this oversight, we removed the second mechanic of the skill, and instead increased the dash distance to make it easier for Yeonhwa to land a hit on the target with the second strike.




| Shadow Step (RMB)
- Fixed the issue where the visual effect of bleed debuff would appear even when you are in stealth.


| Mirage (E)
- Reduced the max number of hits from 7 to 4.
- Reduced the max damage by app. 22.3%.




| Dark Mark (Q)
- Fixed the issue where, if you switched camera right after using the skill, you were not able to inflict damage even if the skill hit successfully.




| Light of Sylvia (RMB)
- Reduced the transition time from using the skill while moving to other actions by app. 0.26 sec.


| Thunder Viper (E)
- Reduced the amount of stamina consumed by app. 28.6%.
- Fixed the issue where your stamina would be slowly consumed for a moment after using the skill.
- Fixed the issue where, if you used the skill with a low stamina, you would occasionally freeze.




| Thunderbolt Arrow(RMB)
- Changed so that knockdown effect would not be applied if you fired right away.


| Explosive Trap(RMB)
- Reduced the installation time by app. 0.26 sec.

[Dev’s Note]
Orwen has outstanding distant attack skills such as Arrow Storm(E) and Thunderbolt Arrow(RMB) which give her an upper hand at keeping the enemies in check or escaping from them. These powerful skills made it extremely difficult for her opponents to get close to her. Therefore, we slightly reduced the power of Thunderbolt Arrow so that, if you fired right away, it would inflict a high damage but not knock down the enemy.




| Helix Cannon(RMB)
- Increased the skill’s max damage by app. 33.3%.
- Changed the skill’s effect when firing right away from knockback to knockdown.




| Blood Flurry(R)
- Improved so that even if you clicked RMB while using the skill, it will strike the last hit.




- Reduced the transition time from first basic attack to basic walking by app. 0.28 sec.

| Dragon Impaler(RMB)
- Increased the dashing distance by 10%.
- Reduced the transition time from the skill to other actions by app. 0.58 sec.

| Skull Crusher(Q)
- Increased the dashing distance by 10%.


| Wing Breaker(E)
- Reduced the transition time from a failed grabbing attempt to other actions by app. 0.2 sec.
- Fixed the issue where, when you hit successfully with the skill, the opponent would occasionally fall right on the spot without flying afar.

Dragon Impaler(RMB) and Skull Crusher(Q), which are Tagahl’s main skills, were dealt in a linear trajectory that it was hard to hit the opponents, who easily avoided them. Therefore, we heightened the strength of liner attacks—attack range—by making him dash even more quickly and attack enemies in further distance.



Wing Breaker(E)

- Reduced the transition time from a failed grabbing attempt to other actions by app. 0.2 sec.

- Fixed the issue where, when you hit successfully with the skill, the opponent would occasionally fall right on the spot without flying afar.

| Sacred Barrier(Patience Stance Q)
- Changed so that the Sacred Barrier would not break if she switched to Courage Stance.



| Winter Petal(Q)
- Deleted Guard Break and Blowback for 0.9 sec effects and instead applied Knockback for 1.2 sec.

| Crimson Nether Flower(E)
- Improved so that you may use the last hit by clicking ‘RMB’ while using the skill.

[Dev’s Note]

Winter Petal (Q) is a skill that allows Lahn to quickly fly toward the enemy and then blow them away with an attack. Although Lahn has long attack ranges, she has to get close to the enemy in order to use her combos. However, Winter Petal applied the blowback effect immediately on enemies, which rendered the skill difficult to use other than getting the last hit with the attack. Therefore, by changing the skill's effect to knockdown, players will can make better use of Winter Petal by initiating attacks and then adding it as a combo with other skills.




- Improved the issue where, if you jumped while sprinting, you would jump app. 0.167 sec later.
- Fixed the issue where Heilang’s AP and DP buff effects would be displayed as +75 or +100.




| Hide & Seek!(Q)
- Reduced the duration of ‘[Party Buff] Increase Vision Range' from 4 sec to 3 sec.
- Changed the speed of running under stealth mode as below.
> Before : Basic running speed increased by 20%
> Now : Basic running speed increased by 15%


| Found You!(E)

- Reduced cooldown from 7 sec to 6 sec.
- Fixed the issue where, if you switched camera right after using the skill, you were not able to inflict damage even if the skill hit successfully.

[Dev’s Note]

We have decreased the cooldown of “Found You!”, the main skill of Wu-Ju, so that its character as a Support or Dealer type hero stands out more.
Instead, we adjusted down utility features like the party vision range buff and movement speed buff so that confronting Wu-Ju could be more eased for the opponents.




- Fixed the issue where bullets do not get fully loaded automatically right after the game started.




| Harbinger's Scythe (RMB)
- Fixed the issue where, if you moved forward while using the skill, sound effect would not be audible.


| Shadow Bullet (RMB)
- Fixed the issue where you could not make a sprint jump attack right after using the skill.
- Decreased Shadow Bullet’s attack range from 250 to 200.
- Changed so that the Bleeding debuff’s Recovery Reduction to vary depending on the number of Quturan's power.
> 0 : recovery reduction -10%
> 1 : recovery reduction - 20%
> 2 : recovery reduction - 30%
> 3 : recovery reduction - 40%

[Dev’s Note]
Since Shadow Bullet had an attack range long enough to hit enemies on point and a short cooldown, it could continuously inflic the bleeding debuff. For her opponents, being continuously under the recovery reduction –40% debuff made the survival chance extremely low and placed a great stress on players. Therefore, we adjusted the skill’s power by decreasing the recovery reduction rate for a low number of Quturan’s power collected. If you maintain 3 powers of Quturan, you will be able to deal a recovery reduction debuff as powerful as before. However, if you used the skill either for your survival or defeating an enemy, you will have to collect the power again from the start. If you have selected “Shadow Bullet” as your RMB Mastery skill, it will be harder to collect the power of Quturan compared to when selecting “Harbinger’s Scythe”. To aggrandize the benefit from the Bleeding debuff, make sure to use the skill cautiously.




- Fixed the issue where, when you made basic attacks on spot, the striking point and the boomerang’s trajectory would not match.
- Reduced basic attacks’ number of hits by 1; from 5~6 hits to 4~5 hits.
- Increased the amount of damage per hit by boomerang of basic attack by app. 17%.

| Fog of Arena
- Changed the vision range of Fog of Arena as below.
> Before: Start as 20m and reduce to 10m over time
> Now: Fixed as 15m

[Dev’s Note]
The vision range of Fog of Arena started wide and got narrower over time. It did not matter at the early stage of the game, but it became more important over time as it blocked ranged enemies out of view. Therefore, we fixed the range of the Fog to 15m so that it creates tension at the early to mid-stage of the game from possible enemy ambushes. While making vision-related strategies, like getting a Beacon of Light, to get utilized more. Plus, we improved vision by showing enemies attacking from range to a certain extent during the later stages of the game so that players can stay focused in the fight.


- Reduced the falling speed of players flying as Black Spirits at the start of the game by app. 10%.
- Reduced the movement speed of players jumping as Black Spirits at the start of the game by 11%.
- Reduced the falling speed of players jumping as Black Spirits by 15.4%.


| Revive System
- Changed the movement and falling speed for when you revived in 10 min into the game as below.
> Reduced the movement speed of revive jump by 16.7%.
> Reduced the falling speed of revive jump by 60%.
> Improved so that you can move as a Black Spirit for 5 sec if you made a revive jump and landed on the ground.

[Dev’s Note]
There were cases where players made a revive jump and landed near a major fight and were attacked right after reviving. Therefore, we slowed down the falling speed so that they can fly slowly while watching over the situation and move quickly to a safer location.

| Meteorite
- Increased the display time of Meteorites’ attack range by 25%.
- Changed the color of Meteorites’ attack range display effect from red to dark-red.
- Changed so that, when Blackstar Meteorites are falling (13 min into the game), there will be a pause where Meteorites do not fall for 10 sec at every minute.
> Meteorites will fall for 50 sec, and there will be a break for 10 sec. This cycle will be on a repeat.
> At 20 min into the game, Meteorites will keep falling without a break.

[Dev’s Note]
With the formidable power of Meteorites, it becomes exponentially limiting for players to do anything once Meteorites start to fall. Therefore, we changed when the Meteorite attack range is displayed to be a little earlier so that players could utilize the phases before Meteorite more effectively. Plus, we have changed the color of the Meteorite attack range to be displayed in dark-red, to make it easier to distinguish it from other skill attack range displays.


| Ancient Relic
- Simplified the phrase that appears when you approach near a deactivated Ancient Relic.


| Dark Fog
- Reduced the basic damage from Dark Fog from 350 to 200.


| AI Player
- Fixed the issue where, if an AI player died, sound was not audible.
- Slowed down the dying action of AI players by 25%.
- Improved so that, if AI players approached near tokens, they could obtain them.
- Fixed the issue where if an Ahon AI player used Sun of Destruction (R), it was able to strike a hit even outside the explosion effect range.


| Ancient Relic
- Reduced the DP buff of “Goddess’ Blessing” from +100 to +50.

[Dev’s Note]
Ancient Relics are easier to obtain compared to Stoneback Crabs and Shadow Lords, which are the objects you can choose 3 min into the game. However, the relics seemed too powerful. Therefore, we halved the DP buff of “Goddess’ Blessing”.

| Tree Spirit
- Changed the duration of movement speed buff of Tree Spirit from 3 sec to 5 sec.

[Dev’s Note]

Locating the opponents and identifying their strategies around the time objects appear is a key factor in victory. Along with the “Fog vision range” patch mentioned above, we lowered the price of Beacon of Light and changed it to be applied to the entire party rather than just the person using it. Therefore, you can gain the upper hand over other teams by using the Beacon of Light more often.

Plus, Shadow Armor had greater specs than other start items although its farming efficiency was lower at the early stage of the game. However, in the current system, battles occur at only 3 min into the game. This made Shadow Armor even more valuable. Therefore, we have lowered its Monster AP so that if you choose Shadow Armor for higher survival chance, you will loose more farming efficiency.


[h3]Monster [/h3]


| Shadow Knights
- Reduced HP of Shadow Knight Captain by app. 23%.
- Reduced HP of Shadow Shaman by app. 11%.
- Increased the individual amount of bonus tokens dropped at defeating Shadow Knight Captain and Shadow Shaman from 20 to 30.
- Increased the range of special attack by Shadow Shaman by 50%.

[Dev’s Note]
In a previous update, Shadow Knights were buffed so that they could be used for a quick progression strategies between the 1 to 3 min into the game other than going after Shadow Trolls. However, they were far much harder to defeat than the trolls without that much of a greater benefit. Therefore, we made further adjustments to the Shadow Knights’ difficulty and rewards.


| Shadow Troll
- Reduced the HP of Shadow Trolls at the 2nd and 3rd Phase of the game.
> Reduced the HP of Trolls at the 2nd phase by 16.7%.
> Reduced the HP of Trolls at the 3rd phase by 23%.

| Boss Monster
- Fixed the issue where Shadow Lords would set someone that did not attack them as a target and chase them during battles.


[h3]Event [/h3]


- [Daily Bonus "Unknown Dye”!] event has started.

- Fixed the issue where the average number of assists do not appear in [Stats] > [Ranking] > [Hero] screen.


[h3] Nickname Setup [/h3]

- Fixed the issue where you could set up a nickname that is actually invalid.
> Since the update on June 10 (Thu), 2021, players with invalid nicknames are given a ‘Name Change Coupon’ to their in-game mailboxes.
> Players who received the ‘Name Change Coupon’ are asked to change their nicknames to valid ones.
> We apologize for the inconvenience, and please refer to below information for the subject and details of the action

Give a ‘Name Change Coupon’ through the in-game mailbox
※ For players who fail to change their nicknames before the maintenance on June 24 (Thu), 2021, their nicknames will be collectively changed to ‘TempNickname’ during the June 24 (Thu) maintenance. To avoid the situation, please change your nickname to a desired one before the maintenance.

[Shadow Arena Nickname Setup Rules] - You may combine 1 desired language and numeric characters.
- You may not combine 2 languages that are not English.
- It may only be up to 15 characters.
