Patch notes for 1.03

AI

-Fixed ai will fly their courses more smoothly.
-Fixed ai will turn correctly in both directions in combat.
-Fixed ai now get g fatigued from excessive turning.
-Fixed ai aim is now improved.
-Fixed ai will climb back to 500m when below the hard deck of 100m then resume combat.

Career
-Fixed issue with ui after not enough fuel or ammo error message.

UI
  • UI Rework - Squadron management has been revamped to make it simpler and easier to understand.
  • Color and gradients have been added to all ui to improve its appearance.


Career
  • Fixed an issue with leaving campaign with a mission still active causing pilots to not be available.


AI
  • All ai pilots were sent back to flight school and drilled on the importance of avoiding crashes with their targets.
  • Changed ai to climb at best rate to patrol altitude rather than timing their arrival and altitude. This often lead to them falling short of patrol altitude.

Patch Released

We have released a patch which fixes the following issues.

  • Commander was not counted as an available pilot in career mode.
  • Added lift rotation to wings and horizontal stabilizers in flight model.
  • Changed AI to use max climb rate to reach waypoint altitude rather than the rate to arrive at the height upon reaching the waypoint.
  • Fixed issue caused by hanger colliders being on at Arras Aerodrome that prevented AI from leaving the hanger.
  • Removed control setup from settings when controllers are not present during start.
  • Automatically switch to tracked controllers in VR as primary controls when other controllers are not present during game start.
  • Tweaked flight models so all aircraft will eventually takeoff on their own. It is still faster to get your tail off the ground but not necessary to takeoff.

Career Mode

Today we have a video which discusses career mode our dynamic campaign and squadron progression gameplay mode. We consider it the crown jewel of the game and a gameplay system of a type that has not been attempted in many years. Career features a real time battle that runs as you plan and do your mission. As long as you are in the mode with a battle loaded, the battle will rage on till you exit it or the battle is won or lost. In the video , details of the mode are discussed and a mission is run to demonstrate the dynamic nature of career mode.
