But when his brother was selected for a scholarship program and sent to a prestigious school, Sergei was left behind and sent to a children's care facility. This separation was a significant turning point in their relationship, and they grew apart as they went on with their separate lives.

Living in the care facility, Sergei learned to be independent and self-reliant, but he felt lonely and unloved. He missed his brother and remembered the happy times they spent together, but his feelings for his brother became twisted and obsessive over time.
