[p]Through early November, we’re honouring the spirits of the dead with our most spiritual seasonal event, Día de Muertos running from 1st November - 14th November!

[/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Spiritualist[/h2][p]Our seasonal trait for Día de Muertos is The Spiritualist. On days when The Spiritualist does not play in, they may decorate a sugar skull offering using any pattern of their choice.

The pattern of the offering will then dictate how the spirits decide to reward The Spiritualist. Each different pattern leads to a different event, so the more times you're The Spiritualist and the more attention you pay, the more you can control the response of the spirits! [/p][h2]Make an Offering Every Day[/h2][p]Play Paper Pirates during Día de Muertos and you can make an offering to the spirits once per day! Play a game each day, and after your voyage you'll receive a gift from the bounty board!

There are four candle-themed outfit pieces for you to collect from the daily quests, so make sure to play a game of Paper Pirates four times before the celebration ends on the 14th November! [/p][h2]Limited Time Costumes[/h2][p]During Día de Muertos, Sam Sherbot and Nat O’Bother have some new customisation options available to unlock in the Shop Ship! [p]Additionally, during Día de Muertos pirates will be able to wear either of two unique hats - La Calavera Catrina and Parrot (Skeleton) is available to everyone in voyages started during the event. Once the event’s over, the hats will disappear from your collection until next year! [/p][p][/p][h2]Sacred Sugar Skulls[/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during Día de Muertos, and your crew will have the chance to decorate an offering to honour the spirits that have passed! Three randomly chosen pirates will each choose a pattern for a region of the sugar skull, and depending on the particular design that's chosen, the spirits will reward you in a different way.

Every pattern will always lead to the same reward, so once you've found a good one if you convince your crew to recreate it, the same reward will happen again!
[/p][h2]A Special Spiritual Bot[/h2][p]Invite bots into your game during the Día de Muertos, and you may find one of the regular crew replaced with a special La Catrina-themed bot! She’ll only join your games during the Día de Muertos event, but she has her very own personality and appearance for you to enjoy.

[h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Cheerleader![/h3][p]
[/p][p]The Cheerleader is a new passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games.[/p][p]The Cheerleader starts out with an initial voting power of one no matter which rank they are on the ship. During day one, The Cheerleader will be asked to choose whether they want to support the human team, or the ghost team, and this choice will control how they gain extra voting power through the course of the voyage.[/p][p]If The Cheerleader chooses to support the human team, they'll gain an extra voting power - permanently - every time a job is successful.[/p][p]If The Cheerleader chooses to support the ghost team, they'll gain an extra voting power - permanently - every time a job fails.[/p][p]Although The Cheerleader starts off with very little voting power, depending on how their team is doing, they could quickly seize control of the ship with plentiful votes. Will they remain loyal to the team they've chosen to support, or will they betray them at the last minute with a dangerous overboarding?[/p][p]The Cheerleader is the last of our seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates! [h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Diplomat![/h3][p]
[/p][p]The Diplomat is a new active trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games with at least six pirates.[/p][p]On days when The Diplomat does not play in, they may target a pirate and force them to skip their next vote. This could be a really powerful way of defusing someone who's controlling the game. You could use this opportunity to overturn an assassin captain, or take out someone who is eager to create more ghosts by ruthlessly voting over other pirates.[/p][p]The Diplomat is a charge-based trait, and they can activate their powers up to three times each voyage.[/p][p]The Diplomat is one of seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates! One more trait will become available on the following schedule:[/p]

[p]The final trait to be revealed is one that is really eager to support you in all of your future voyages...[/p]

[p]Throughout October, celebrate Paper Pirates’ spookiest seasonal event by taking part in the Halloween-themed Haunted Seas event! Running from 1st October - 31st October, a whole host of spooky goings on are waiting for you.

[/p][h2]Seasonal Trait+: The Vampires[/h2][p]Play a Traits+ game during Haunted Seas, and you might find a spooky new Traits+ exclusive passive trait has joined the crew. When a pirate starts the game as The Vampire, a special day one event, The Vampire's Bite, will automatically trigger. During this event, The Vampire can choose any other pirate - immediately turning that pirate's passive trait into The Vampire too.

[/p][p]The two vampires then have a unique victory condition they can achieve: Every time either vampire votes to throw a pirate overboard, they will feed on that pirate, gaining power. Once fed on, that pirate cannot be fed on again by either vampire.[/p][p]If The Vampires are able to successfully throw all other pirates overboard, they will reach maximum power - causing the voyage to immediately end, and declaring the two pirates with The Vampire passive trait as the only winners. [/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Werewolf[/h2][p]Available in all trait games during Haunted Seas is the spooky passive trait, The Werewolf.

On odd numbered days, when the moon is in its crescent phase, The Werewolf is weakened. Any votes cast by The Werewolf on these days will only have a voting power of one, regardless of their rank on the ship.[/p][p]However, on even numbered days, when the moon is full, The Werewolf is strengthened! Any votes cast by The Werewolf on these days will have double their usual voting power. Yikes! They might even start throwing people overboard all on their own... [/p][p]Will you get hunted by The Werewolf? [/p][h2]Trick or Treat?[/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during the Haunted Seas event, and the Halloween Spirits may appear to one of the crew. During the Event phase of the game, the Trick or Treat? event may activate for the duration of Haunted Seas, offering a randomly chosen pirate a choice. Will they take the easy option and choose a treat, or are they feeling brave and willing to risk a trick?

[/p][h2]Be Surprised by the Audience![/h2][p]If an audience is observing your voyage during Haunted Seas, they might find themselves empowered with a surprise. The 'Audience Surprise' seasonal event asks the audience whether they'd like to surprise the crew with either a trick, or a treat.

If more of the audience choose trick, an event which generally favours the ghost team will immediately happen. If more of the audience choose treat, an event which generally favours the human team will immediately happen. [/p][p]Will your audience surprise you with a lovely treat, or a mischievous trick? Complete the task to open a spooky treat, which contains some unique outfit customisation options you can't obtain anywhere else!

[/p][p]The Wereghost is a new seasonal passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games during Haunted Seas with at least six pirates. The Wereghost plays into the same energy as The Werewolf, in that their trait is governed by the moon. During Haunted Seas, odd numbered days have a crescent moon while even numbered days show a perilous full moon.[/p][p]The Wereghost's team is fixed by the lunar cycle. On odd numbered days, when the moon isn't full, The Wereghost is always on the human team. On even numbered days, however, when the moon is full, The Wereghost is always on the ghost team.[/p][p]The team of The Wereghost cannot be changed by any other means, but will continue to switch back and forth at the start of each day for the whole voyage.[/p][p]Which team will they choose to side with? How do they know they'll be on the right team when the voyage ends? A cunning Wereghost will want to make sure that the voyage ends exactly when they hope it will...[/p][p]The Wereghost is one of seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates!
