[/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Spring Chicken[/h2][p]Joining Paper Pirates for the duration of Spring Sailing is the seasonal trait, The Spring Chicken! Play a trait game, and one of the crew may find themselves with this happy-go-lucky, seasonal appropriate trait.[/p][p]Each day, when The Spring Chicken is not the Captain, they will spring forward one rank of the crew at the start of the event phase! This happens even if there's no other event taking place! What seems like a blessing may be a curse - watch out if you're a ghostly Spring Chicken and you're almost next to The Sensitive... [/p][h2]The Grand Spring Egg Hunt[/h2][p]Every day during Spring Sailing the crew will be challenged to an Egg Hunt by our very own Rabbot! They've hidden a number of eggs all throughout Paper Pirates for you to find - they could be in any of the menu screens, or even in-game! Find your quota each day, and you'll be able to open a special Spring Sailing surprise.


There's three outfits for a combined total of sixteen items, to collect through The Grand Spring Egg Hunt. Make sure to check for eggs every day, and get ready to dress up! [/p][p] [/p][h2]The “Lucky Egg Hunt” Event![/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during Spring Sailing, and each day there is a chance you may encounter the “Lucky Egg Hunt” event. A random member of the crew gets to pick one egg out of a selection. The eggs all contain events, and whichever egg they choose will instantly trigger that event! All the other pirates on the boat will get a clue, showing them a picture of an egg, and a description of the event that will happen. Make sure you communicate to the egg hunter to let them know what might happen for each egg - but watch out for the ghosts, who might give you a bad description, or tell you fibs about the event squirreled away inside![/p][h2]

Spring Celebrations in the Photo Booth[/h2][p]To celebrate Spring Sailing, there are two limited-time Foils available in the Photo Booth, in the Captain’s Log. Take the opportunity to snap your favourite pirate templates, and share any pics you take! [/p][h2]Spring Sailing Bot[/h2][p]Invite bots into your game during Spring Sailing, and you may encounter Rabbot - our very own pirate-y Easter Bunny, out to help you uncover eggs at sea! Rabbot will only join your games during Spring Sailing, so take the chance to meet them now before they hop away to hibernate for the rest of the year!

[p]It's Paper Pirates' sixth birthday, and we’re celebrating with the return of The Big Birthday Bash! Running from 28th February - 14th March, celebrate the anniversary of the game's launch with a festival of partying, and a whole host of anniversary goodies in Paper Pirates! [/p][p][/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Blessed[/h2][p]A new seasonal trait for the sixth anniversary of Paper Pirates, The Blessed is a passive trait that can appear in any Trait or Traits+ game with at least six pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]The Blessed is empowered with three special blessings, and any time when they are not currently awaiting a blessing they must choose a new blessing to receive. There are three blessings in total, and each one takes a certain amount of days to be fulfilled.[/p][p]A Blessing of Scrying will reveal a pirate's team after two days, a Blessing of Reversal will flip a pirate's team after three days, and the terrifying Blessing of Doom will throw a pirate overboard after four days.[/p][p]When The Blessed picks a blessing, they also have to choose which pirate the blessing will be enacted on. With a delay in the activation of the blessing, how can they predict what they will need and when?[/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Magician[/h2][p]Joining Paper Pirates for the duration of The Big Birthday Bash is the seasonal passive trait, The Magician! Play a Trait or Traits+ game during The Big Birthday Bash, and one of the crew may find themselves playing as The Magician.

[/p][p]When the entire crew have finished voting, but no pirate has gone overboard, The Magician will have the opportunity to cast a magic vote. This magic vote has three voting power, and can be cast for any pirate (other than The Magician themselves). The crew won't know who The Magician is, unless they can figure it out through deductive reasoning![/p][p]The magic vote still counts as voting for a pirate to go overboard, so if The Magician throws a human overboard they run the risk of becoming a ghost. Question is... who are they? [/p][h2]The “Let Them Eat Cake” Event![/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during The Big Birthday Bash, and each day there is a chance you may encounter the “Let Them Eat Cake” event. The crew will divide up a huge birthday cake, taking the chance to blow out the candles one by one. It's believed that the last person who blows out a candle will get to make a wish... what will they wish for, and will their wish come true?!

[/p][h2]Birthday Gift Bounties[/h2][p]Every day during The Big Birthday Bash the crew will receive a special birthday gift bounty! If you complete the assigned task, you can open a present, and inside you will find... a special cosmetic surprise! There are sixteen different cosmetics in total to collect, so make sure to collect your birthday gifts during the seasonal celebration!

[/p][h2]Developer Bots Jump Aboard[/h2][p]Invite bots into your game during The Big Birthday Bash, and you may find some of the regular crew replaced with one or three bots that mimic the Iteration Games crew! They’ll only join your games during The Big Birthday Bash, but these bots have their own personality and appearances modelled after the Paper Pirates developers.[/p]

[p]Alongside the return of the seasonal celebration, The Big Birthday Bash, we're also bringing some new bits and pieces to Paper Pirates! We've prepared a few new events and a collection of new Traits across both Trait and Traits+ game modes to keep your voyages fresh. [/p][h2]Anniversary Bounties[/h2][p]There are two special anniversary bounties to complete during Paper Pirates' sixth anniversary. If the Human team successfully wins 5 times you will unlock a special unique hat. Equally, if the Ghost team successfully wins 5 times, there's another fun hat for you to discover. These hats work especially well with a few new treats in the Outfit Shop.[/p][h2]New Trait: The Eager[/h2][p]The Eager is a new passive trait appearing in Trait and Traits+ games with at least seven pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]When The Eager is aboard the ship, the Captain will always be able to choose The Eager in a job if they have one. They might appear in one, or both, of their options, but should the Captain figure out who they are, they can always have them play in.[/p][p]If The Eager is a reliable human, that means you've always got a handy pirate to rely on! Even better, if you can make sure they're next to friendly humans, you've got a guaranteed safe job every day. On the other hand, if they're a ghost... well, that explains itself![/p][h2]New Trait: The Executioner[/h2][p]The Executioner is a new active trait appearing in Trait and Traits+ games with at least eight pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]The Executioner has a powerful and terrifying ability, which they can only use once per voyage. When activated, The Executioner will be required to throw three pirates overboard, one by one. They must throw three different pirates overboard, so they can't just do one and stop.[/p][p]These count as throwing a pirate overboard, so if The Executioner chooses a human with any one of their three picks, they will become a ghost. The Executioner can only use their ability when there is at least two distance remaining from shore, and the crew have at least two treasure.[/p][p]Will The Executioner wield their dastardly scheme for the good of the human team, or to join the dastardly ghosts in a fiendish victory?[/p][h2]New Trait: The Decoy[/h2][p]The Decoy is a new passive trait appearing in Trait and Traits+ games with at least seven pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]The Decoy only appears in voyages where The Pure is also present. Whenever The Pure would be ghosted, through either voting, events, or traits, The Decoy becomes a ghost instead.[/p][p]When you're The Pure, it can be tempting to take advantage of your purity to be a bit more cut-throat with your voting to try to get as many ghosts overboard as possible. Will you stop and think twice when there could be The Decoy on the ship absorbing all the ghosts?[/p][h2]New Trait: The Adventurer[/h2][p]The Adventurer is a new active trait appearing in Trait and Traits+ games with at least six pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]The Adventurer is ready to explore and keen to take the crew on an adventure of their choice! Once per voyage, The Adventurer can activate their trait to take the crew on adventure. They'll be offered a different adventure each day, which could take the crew on an adventure to a deserted island, could summon an angry kraken, or even take the crew back in time.[/p][p]As an added bonus, The Adventurer's preparation can help the crew make the most of their adventures. When triggered by The Adventurer, both Island Adventure and The Kraken Rises offer the crew three opportunities to explore instead of the usual two.[/p][p]A well timed expedition could absolutely turn the tide in the favour of the human team, or the ghost team. How will you convince the crew to do what they need to do?[/p][h2]New Trait: The Toxicologist[/h2][p]The Toxicologist is a new active trait appearing in Trait and Traits+ games with at least seven pirates.[/p][p][/p][p]The Toxicologist is a charge-based trait, and they have the power to poison a pirate up to three times on each voyage. Being poisoned means that a pirate will receive one additional vote, from The Toxicologist, every time a pirate votes for them.[/p][p]These votes count as votes from The Toxicologist, so every additional Toxicologist vote increases the chance they might become a ghost should a human be thrown overboard.[/p][p]The poison will wear off after the poisoned pirate goes overboard by any means.[/p][h2]New Seasonal Trait: The Blessed[/h2][p]A new arrival for this year's Big Birthday Bash is the new seasonal passive trait, The Blessed! For full details of what The Blessed can do, make sure to read the full details of the seasonal celebration - which started today - on Steam![/p][h2]New Event: Call of the Siren[/h2][p]Call of the Siren is a new wildcard event which appears only in Traits+ games. When a Call of the Siren event happens, the crew succumb to the allure of a mysterious siren. In the confusion caused by the siren's singing, every single pirate on the crew swaps teams - if they are on the human team, they join the ghost team, and vice versa.[/p][p][/p][p]The swaps happen one by one, from Captain to Stowaway, ensuring that each pirate's team is flipped. As always, these team changes are affected by a pirate's traits, so The Pure will always stay a human, as you'd expect.[/p][p]When the crew have been visited by a siren, you never can be too sure who you can and can't trust - and what opportunities for misdirection and bluffing will this introduce?[/p][h2]New Event: One Always Lies[/h2][p]One Always Lies is a new wildcard event which appears in all game modes. When a One Always Lies event happens, two randomly chosen pirates will receive some useful information: They'll each find out the team of a different pirate.[/p][p][/p][p]One of the chosen pirates will receive the truth - they'll get genuine information about their pirate's team. [/h2][h2]A Mysterious Benefactor[/h2][p]Play a Trait or Traits+ game during Valentine Voyages, and you may attract the attention of A Mysterious Benefactor!

Voyages blessed by a mysterious benefactor will have one extra special secret. Every day when a job fails, the mysterious benefactor will send a secret note to a random pirate. That note will expose some information about the crew's traits! They might share a trait that nobody on the crew currently has, or, tell you the trait someone on the crew has. [/p][p]With a mysterious benefactor sharing all the crew's darkest secrets, how can you bluff your way out of an unexpected surprise reveal? [/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Lovers[/h2][p]During Valentine Voyages, you may encounter one of the seasonal traits, The Lovers!

The Lovers always appear as a pair, with two randomly chosen pirates from the crew both having the trait 'The Lovers'. When either pirate with The Lovers trait goes overboard, the other pirate will become Heartbroken, automatically going overboard the following day after the job completes. [/p][p]If a heartbroken pirate happens to go overboard before the end of the next day's job, they won't go overboard twice! Be warned - if a pirates goes overboard due to heartbreak and they're a human, one randomly selected other pirate will become a ghost. Now that's spooky! [/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Admirer[/h2][p]During Valentine Voyages, you may encounter one of the seasonal traits, The Admirer!

During the first day, The Admirer must choose a target of their admiration from the crew. The Admirer's team will then immediately change to match the pirate they chose. Not only that, but every time The Admirer's target changes team, The Admirer's team will change too! [/p][p]That means if the target of their admiration becomes a ghost... Well, you know what you have to do! The Admirer's team will no longer change through other means (if they're a human, they can't join the ghost team unless their target pirate is haunted), so watch out for any very tricky Admirer plays! A random member of the crew is given the opportunity to fire Cupid’s arrow at another. Whoever they fire it at will have their role changed to match the person who fired the arrow - whether they were human, or ghost! Keep track of the arrow, and see if you can deduce whose role is what as you forge ahead on your voyage.

[/p][h2]The "Love Letter" Event![/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during Valentine Voyage, and each day there is a chance you may encounter the "Love Letter" event. A randomly chosen pirate must commit to sending a love letter to a pirate of their choice. What secrets will this letter reveal? The pirate may choose to either share their team, or their trait, with their lover. What information will they reveal, and more importantly, why did they choose to share that particular piece of information?

[/p][h2]Love Letter Bounties[/h2][p]What's this? The crew has received a mysterious letter, emblazoned with a heart motif? What could this mysterious love letter mean? It seems that there's a series of tasks for you to complete throughout Valentine Voyage's, and each one rewards you with... a special heart-shaped box!? What could be inside?

[p]Throughout January, we’re celebrating with the Paper Pirates Seasonal Celebration, Soggy Hogmanay! Running from 1st January - 21st January, celebrate the start of the New Year with a festival of glad tidings, and a whole host of seasonal goodies in Paper Pirates!

[/p][h2]The Crew's Resolution[/h2][p]All voyages during Soggy Hogmanay will start with a unique day one event: The Crew's Resolution. When presented with The Crew's Resolution, each crew member will have to vote on one of a small selection of vows that they want the whole crew to commit to for the remainder of the voyage.[/p][p][/p][p]Whichever vow receives the most votes will immediately come into effect for the whole crew. Each vow will dramatically change the way voting works, which means this is a high stakes choice. There are six different vows, and whichever vow is chosen for your voyage is bound to make a difference. [/p][h2]Seasonal Event: Change of Resolution[/h2][p]Are things not going to plan? Do you regret the decisions you made at the very start of the voyage? What you need is a Change of Resolution event! When this happens, the entire crew will be offered the opportunity to change the vow they picked at the start of the voyage.

[/p][p]Who knows what has happened since day one? Maybe now you feel quite differently about how your crewmates are using their newfound voting powers? However you feel, it's all change with a Change of Resolution![/p][h2]Seasonal Trait: The Resolute[/h2][p]Returning to Soggy Hogmanay is the seasonal trait, The Resolute! Play a trait game during Soggy Hogmanay, and one of the crew may find themselves playing as The Resolute.

[/p][p]The Resolute must make a New Year's Resolution during the first day of the voyage. Their resolution asks them to pledge their allegiance to either the human or the ghost team. Whichever team they pick, they will instantly join - and they won't be able to become a member of the opposite team for the entirety of the remainder of the voyage![/p][p]Their choice is private to them, so make sure you don't get caught out by a sneaky Resolute pretending to have become a perma-human, when they might actually have just become The Tainted's best friend... [/p][h2]Seasonal Trait Event: The Resolute's Resolve[/h2][p]Returning for 2026, The Resolute again has a special seasonal Trait Event! If they're lucky enough for the crew to encounter a The Resolute's Resolve event during the voyage, The Resolute will have the opportunity to change their mind about the resolution they made at the start of the voyage. [/p][p][/p][p]This means that a resolute who originally decided to become a permanent ghost could change to become a permanent human, or vice versa. Thought you had The Resolute all figured out? Watch out, as they could change right before your eyes! [/p][h2]Seasonal Event: The Fastest First Foot[/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during Soggy Hogmanay, and each day there is a chance you may encounter the ‘Fastest First Foot’ event, inspired by the Hogmanay tradition of First Footing. As the crew return from an adventure on a deserted treasure island, they race to see who has the honour of first footing the pirate ship. Those pirates who make it back first are granted good fortune for the coming voyage - and will be given a higher rank on the ship accordingly! Have your devices at the ready and press a button as soon as it appears, and any pirate has the chance of seizing the rank of captain!

[/p][h2]Resolution Bounty[/h2][p]Rumour has spread of a mysterious monster at sea... what could it be? Is it even real? During Soggy Hogmanay, if you scour the seven seas enough, you might catch a glimpse of a very special creature! [/p][p][/p][p]Check your bounty board after every voyage, because your time spent at sea might unveil a very special reward for you and your crew. You only have until the end of Soggy Hogmanay to complete the bounty, so make sure you make a new year's resolution to spend more time sailing than ever before!
