[h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Dutiful![/h3][p]
[/p][p]The Dutiful is a new active trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games with at least six pirates. When The Dutiful doesn't play in, they can activate their trait, controlling which event shows up for that day. When they activate their trait, the day's event will always be the Crew's Duty event for whatever rank The Dutiful is at the time of the event.[/p][p]That means that their power allows them to force the following events:[/p]

• [p]Quartermaster: Demotion[/p]
• [p]Navigator: Plot a Course[/p]
• [p]Gunner: Conspiracy[/p]
• [p]Surgeon: Botch Job[/p]
• [p]Shipwright: Busywork[/p]
• [p]Cooper: In the Barrel[/p]
• [p]Cook: Suspicious Soup[/p]
• [p]Cabin Boy: Captain's Favourite[/p]
• [p]Stowaway: Overpower [/p]

[p]After they've chosen to do this, The Dutiful will need to rest, and won't be able to use their trait for a minimum of three days. When the cooldown has expired, they'll be able to do it again, and there's no limit on the number of times they choose to activate their trait outside of the three day cooldown.[/p][p]The Dutiful might have a plan for an event they want to trigger, but they also need to be careful - if their rank changes before the event triggers, maybe through a sneaky Brawler, they'll get the event for their new rank instead...[/p][p]The Dutiful is one of seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates! [h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Soothsayer![/h3][p]
[/p][p]The Soothsayer is a new passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games with at least seven pirates. The Soothsayer has the power of divination, and their trait comes in handy when they've just been voted overboard - as long as they're on the human team, that is.[/p][p]We all know that when a human pirate is voted overboard, one of the pirates that voted for them will be chosen for a possession. When they're voted overboard, however, The Soothsayer knows exactly which pirate that is. They'll get a pop-up, and a message in their black spot, telling them which pirate was chosen to become a ghost when they were voted overboard.[/p][p]What The Soothsayer chooses to do with that information is, of course, up to them. They might use it to get out of stowaway - though think before you act, how do you know that person really is who they say they are?[/p][p]The Soothsayer is one of seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates! [h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Shapesister![/h3][h3] [/h3][p]The Shapesister is a new passive trait, available in Traits+ games with at least six pirates. This is a partner trait, and interacts directly with whichever pirate on the crew is The Shapeshifter.[/p][p]Whenever The Shapeshifter activates their trait during a job, The Shapesister's team will also be flipped. In the same way as The Shapeshifter, that means if they are a human they will become a ghost, and vice-versa.[/p][p]Neither the Shapesister nor the Shapeshifter know the identity of their partner, though through some sneaky deduction you might be able to figure out who they are and work with them - or against them - for the glory of whichever team you happen to be on.[/p][p]The Shapesister is one of seven new traits coming to Paper Pirates! [p]Across June and July, we’re celebrating with the wettest Paper Pirates Seasonal Celebration, The Pirate Pool Party! Running from 24th June to 22nd July, celebrate the warmer weather with a party dedicated to all things poolside, and a whole host of seasonal goodies in Paper Pirates!

[/p][h2]Seasonal Traits: The Shark & The Bait[/h2][p]The Shark and The Bait appear as a pair, and one is hunting the other! In any game where The Shark and The Bait appear, The Shark has a unique victory condition. If they're able to get The Bait thrown overboard three times - through events and/or voting - they will automatically and instantly achieve a solo victory! Both The Shark and The Bait are passive traits.

Is someone behaving suspiciously? A bit too keen to throw someone overboard? Maybe they're The Shark! Is someone claiming to be The Bait? Maybe they just don't want to go overboard and really hey're The Cursed? Hmm, tricky times ahead crew... [/p][p]To make things even more challenging for the crew, The Bait will always appear as a ghost when their team is revealed through traits and events. Be vigilant crew![/p][h2]Party Favours for all the Guests![/h2][p]Any good party comes with goodies to take home, and Pirate Pool Party is no exception! Play Paper Pirates during the Pirate Pool Party and you'll get a special bounty task each day. Complete the task to open a special party favour, which contains some unique outfit customisation options you can't obtain anywhere else!

There's three outfits, for a combined total of fifteen items, to collect through The Pirate Pool Party. [p]Additionally, during The Pirate Pool Party, pirates have access to five unique hats, available to everyone in voyages started during the event. Once the event’s over, the hats will disappear from your collection until next year, so be sure to wear them while you can!

[/p][h2]The “Spooky Sandcastles” Event![/h2][p]Go on a sailing adventure during The Pirate Pool Party, and any day when there’s a failed job there is a chance you may encounter the “Spooky Sandcastles” event. Encountering some mysterious haunted sandcastles, the crew must each choose one of the three to hide amongst! But be wary, for once all pirates have picked a hiding place, the most popular pick will reveal how many of the pirates choosing to hide amongst it was actually a ghost!


Watch out for pirates choosing to hide amongst their peers, or those choosing to go it alone hoping not to be discovered. Whether pirates are jumping in with others or not, there’s bound to be deception around the spooky sandcastles![/p][h2]Get your Party On in the Photo Booth[/h2][p]To celebrate The Pirate Pool Party, there is one limited-time Background and one limited-time Foil available in the Photo Booth, in the Captain’s Log. Take the opportunity to snap your favourite pirate templates, and share any pics you take! [/p][h2]Pirate Pool Party Bots[/h2][p]Invite bots into your game during The Pirate Pool Party, and you may encounter any of three unique bots! Look out for Crabbot, Sandy Botney and Wes Overbot who are all eager to board your ship and throw you overboard! These bots will only join your games during The Pirate Pool Party, so take the chance to meet them now before they swim away for the rest of the year!

[h3]Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Quester![/h3]



The Quester is a new passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games. At the start of the voyage, The Quester is given a secret quest to complete. That might be to obey or disobey a number of jobs, change their team, or even go overboard. Only they'll know their secret quest, and whether they choose to try to complete it or not is entirely up to them.

If they are able to complete it, the rewards are sure to be glorious. During the next pre-event phase after they complete their quest, they'll be given a choice of three unique Quester reward events. These include opportunities to swap their rank with another pirate on the ship, exorcise another pirate, or check the team of another pirate, amongst others.

Once The Quester completes their quest and chooses a reward, they'll be given another randomly selected quest to try to complete. There's no limit to how many quests they can complete in one voyage, but they won't get a new one until the old one's finished!

If you find someone is behaving a little oddly, perhaps they're trying to complete their quest to get a special reward!
