New Trait: The Quester
Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Quester!
The Quester is a new passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games. At the start of the voyage, The Quester is given a secret quest to complete. That might be to obey or disobey a number of jobs, change their team, or even go overboard. Only they'll know their secret quest, and whether they choose to try to complete it or not is entirely up to them.

If they are able to complete it, the rewards are sure to be glorious. During the next pre-event phase after they complete their quest, they'll be given a choice of three unique Quester reward events. These include opportunities to swap their rank with another pirate on the ship, exorcise another pirate, or check the team of another pirate, amongst others.

Once The Quester completes their quest and chooses a reward, they'll be given another randomly selected quest to try to complete. There's no limit to how many quests they can complete in one voyage, but they won't get a new one until the old one's finished!

If you find someone is behaving a little oddly, perhaps they're trying to complete their quest to get a special reward!

New Trait: The Informant
Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Informant!
The Informant is a new passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games. At the start of the voyage, The Informant is notified of up to three traits that aren't currently in the voyage. They might be active traits, they might be passive traits, but they'll know for sure that no pirate started the game with that trait.

What will they do with this information? Will they share with the crew which traits they know no pirate has, or is it better to keep quiet and wait to see if you can catch someone out in a lie? Even better, might a sneaky Informant choose to use their information to pretend to be another powerful trait, with full knowledge that nobody will counter-claim them?

New Trait: The Robot
Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Robot!
Beep boop to all and ghosts! The Robot is a new active trait, available in all Traits+ games. The Robot is our first dual-trait, in that it occupies both the active and passive slot. If you're chosen to be The Robot at the start of the voyage, your passive trait will be automatically set to Deactivated.

On days when The Robot does not play in, they may activate one of their four special modes, replacing Deactivated as their passive trait. The four modes The Robot can activate are:

 • Psychic Mode: Whenever a pirate goes overboard, you can check whether they were a human or a ghost.
 • Silent Mode: Whenever The Robot casts a vote at the end of the day, it will show as if they passed. If their vote throws a pirate overboard, voting will still end as usual.
 • Assassin Mode: The Robot will always vote first during voting, unless the voyage features The Assassin, when they will instead vote second.
 • Disguised Mode: Whenever a pirate checks The Robot's team through an event or trait, The Robot's team will show as the opposite of their true team (e.g., a human Robot will show as a ghost).

The Robot's mode will remain the same until they choose to change it, which they can do so freely any time they don't play in.

The Robot's power to emulate other passive traits makes it very unique. There's bound to be some super sneaky tactics by switching in and out of particular traits at a whim!

Joining Paper Pirates for the duration of Spring Sailing is the seasonal trait, The Spring Chicken! Play a trait game, and one of the crew may find themselves with this happy-go-lucky, seasonal appropriate trait.

Each day, when The Spring Chicken is not the Captain, they will spring forward one rank of the crew at the start of the event phase! This happens even if there's no other event taking place! What seems like a blessing may be a curse - watch out if you're a ghostly Spring Chicken and you're almost next to The Sensitive...
The Grand Spring Egg Hunt

The “Lucky Egg Hunt” Event!
Go on a sailing adventure during Spring Sailing, and each day there is a chance you may encounter the “Lucky Egg Hunt” event. A random member of the crew gets to pick one egg out of a selection. The eggs all contain events, and whichever egg they choose will instantly trigger that event! All the other pirates on the boat will get a clue, showing them a picture of an egg, and a description of the event that will happen. Make sure you communicate to the egg hunter to let them know what might happen for each egg - but watch out for the ghosts, who might give you a bad description, or tell you fibs about the event squirreled away inside!
Spring Celebrations in the Photo Booth
To celebrate Spring Sailing, there are two limited-time Foils available in the Photo Booth, in the Captain’s Log. Take the opportunity to snap your favourite pirate templates, and share any pics you take!
Spring Sailing Bot
Invite bots into your game during Spring Sailing, and you may encounter Rabbot - our very own pirate-y Easter Bunny, out to help you uncover eggs at sea! Rabbot will only join your games during Spring Sailing, so take the chance to meet them now before they hop away to hibernate for the rest of the year!

New Trait: The Unfortunate
Joining Paper Pirates today is the new trait, The Unfortunate!
The Unfortunate is a passive trait, available in all Trait and Traits+ games. When The Unfortunate chooses to vote, they're really taking their future into their hands. Should they participate in a vote to throw a human overboard, they will always be the pirate chosen to become a ghost no matter who else voted, how many votes they cast, or which team they're on.

This doesn't impact any events, so for example, The Unfortunate wouldn't be guaranteed to become a ghost should they choose to throw a human Captain overboard during a Mutiny event. Only votes cast at the end of the day will trigger The Unfortunate's unfortunate ability.

Despite the name, The Unfortunate might be able to use their power to their advantage. If they vote someone overboard, and don't become a ghost, they know that pirate must have been on the ghost team... but how will they convince the crew to believe them?
