Mion News - April '25

Hey peeps, thank you for your support over these past few months. We went to the Jakarta GameFest event last month, and it was a blast! We got some constructive feedback from you and saw for ourselves how you would play the game!
April Event: Jakarta GameFest
On the day of the event, we showcased our demo for players to play. We provided two choices for players to pick. The first one was to go to the Asgard laboratory and clean up some zombies. And the second one was to assemble an A-team from 5 playable characters and fight 3 bosses in a row.

On the zombie cleaning part, we're amazed how eager players were to explore the outside world. Fair play to them, because we unlocked the door for the curious players to go out. You tried to interact with every nook and cranny you could find, both inside and outside. Some of you are really eager to explore everything, and that's something we'd like to see. We can't wait for you to explore everything in the full game later!

On the Boss Rush side, we're glad that there are players who liked the challenge of fighting bosses 3 times in a row, and most of them won! We have 5 playable characters, which are Michael, Alice, Lucas, Maya, and Yogie.
 • Maya saw the most action; every Boss Rush player picked her on every attempt.
 • Alice was a close second, with around 87% of players picking her.
 • Meanwhile, Yogie and Michael the MC share the third place; most players picked them alternately after they picked Maya and Alice.
 • Lucas came last; players only picked him a few times. However, Lucas is the only one with a 100% win rate. The players who picked Lucas utilized his taunt and his tankiness correctly, just like in an MMORPG raid.

These 5 characters have different strengths and weaknesses, and skillful players could find a way to make them work with each other. We saw that a lot of you loved the boss rush challenge. What do you think if we put it in the full game later?
What's Next?
For this month and the next, we'll be working through more bugs, balancing, and polishing.

We're currently doing some internal playtests. Along the way, we found small bugs that are not game-breaking. These bugs, however, show strange interactions with the game. We will take steps to fix these bugs.

We also found out that some of you see the random encounter as a hindrance as opposed to fun gameplay. We'd like to make your battle experience feel more engaging. We'll balance out some enemies' rate and HP to be more suitable, and balancing each area might be one of the trickier parts of our development progress.

Lastly, we'll also be polishing out the game, making sure inconsistencies are ironed out and all ropes tied up for better gameplay experiences.

Officially Partnering with a Publisher!

Hey peeps! Apologies for being radio silent for a long time. We’ve been fighting a lot of bugs for the last few years, fixing some parts of the game code while simultaneously proofreading and editing the game story.

Today we bring an exciting news:
Fractured Core is officially partnering with indie.io!
Wooohooo!!

For those of you who may not know, working with a game publishing platform like indie.io greatly helps indie developers focus on game development while they handle all the behind-the-scenes magic. From helping manage store pages to crafting marketing campaigns and even helping the game shine at both digital and live events, indie.io helps in all the aspects that indie developers often struggle with alone.

After a lengthy discussion between our team, we believe that partnering with indie.io will help our game reach more RPG enthusiasts, especially gamers who look out for indie gems. We’ve seen and talked with other developers who have worked with indie.io and they have said great things about them, including bringing a lot of indie games to reach more players.
You can check them out right here on indie.io page.
Don’t forget to follow and wishlist Fractured Core as well as join our Discord community to be notified of future announcements!

Demo Update 2

Hey everyone, this is a 2nd update and probably the last update to the demo.

Some changes we did this time:
 1. Various bug fixing.
 2. Random encounter now works in Hephaestus building.
 3. Random encounter option now working.
 4. Changed some cut scene to CG in order to better illustrate the situation in game. (The final game will also be CG in some cutscene)

Example:

We're still working hard on the game, stay tuned for more info in the future.

And as usual if you find any other bugs, issue or just want to give feedback, you can do it at our discord https://discord.gg/VwuwTRp or at the steam discussion forum.

Thank you for trying out demo!

Demo Update

Hey everyone, we have a QoL updates for the demo, here are the change logs

Change log:
 • Able to skip prologue cutscene.
 • Added more npc dialogues inside Athena HQ.
 • Fixed controller issue not be able to open chest or interact with NPC.
 • Fixed DS4 sliding movement issue.
 • Added more vfx to the city map.

Known issue:
 • Since we added npc dialogues that changes over time, we had to change the save system to make it persistent. It is advised to start a new game in order to avoid bugs. Save location is at : "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Fractured Core\save.dat" Replace USERNAME with your windows username.
 • The encounter rate option doesn't work, this is intentional as the demo doesn't contain any random encounter yet. It will be added in the final game.

If you find any other bugs, issue or just want to give feedback, you can do it at our discord https://discord.gg/VwuwTRp or at the steam discussion forum.

Thank you for trying our demo!
