Consoles & Update 1.1
Work on consoles has been going well and is on track to be released later this year!

While working on consoles, we discovered how much attention they would need, so we adjusted the list of features for update 1.1. This update will launch for all platforms, including Steam, on the day of the consoles’ release. The current list of features to be included in 1.1 is:

 • Voda romanceable
 • New Friendship cutscenes with non-romanceable characters (Ron/Tetih, Brah/Vor, Maeri/Vuak, Igrork, Gin, Zelk)
 • NPC gifts given by smoke signals
 • Ability to Break a Union and corresponding schedules and dialogues
 • New Savanna animal unlocked in Year 2
 • Japanese support
 • Performance optimizations
 • Smaller QoL and bug fixes

Depending on how the remaining work on consoles goes, we’re also exploring including some of these:
 • New Union locations
 • Optional Hunting/Gathering Minigame
 • Traps
 • Growable mushroom/herb pots
After 1.1
We originally wanted to include children growing to the “kid” stage and animal & plant evolution in 1.1, but those will now be in a future update. Here’s some WIP of those features.

Seeing everyone play and enjoy the game has been an amazing experience. As a small team, we want to ensure the updates get as much love and attention as the base game. After 1.1, we will keep updating the game next year as we have grand plans to add two more regions and more features to the mid and end-game.

We think it will be worth the wait, and as always, we’ll keep you updated on how the development is going.

QoL Update Live Now!

Hello, Pachans!
The first step of the Roadmap is already here. The Quality of Life update is now live! There is so much fun to discover, like:

Smilodon outfit. We love fashion and know this new outfit will make you smile.

New romanceable NPC. Enjoy more cozy moments with Jag in three new flower cutscenes and maybe even form a Union with him.

Pacha tree fruit. Once you complete the Pyramid, you'll be able to exchange for Pacha fruit that grants different boons to make your life easier. Be sure to save a good amount of contributions. You'll need them.

+50 new decos. A set of new elegant decorations is available to exchange with Reese. You can make your home even cozier with the new pots, furniture, and lighting fixtures in bronze, silver, and gold varieties.

Moving buildings. Did you find a better spot for your home? Now you can relocate idea builds and your hut by talking to Croll.

Flower cutscene indicator. It can be easy to lose track of relationships when you're busy in the fields. A new cutscene indicator will help you know which villager is waiting to share a special moment.

Magic Hand Axe. Complete all the challenges in the caves to get this dream tool.

Jukk, the stylist. For 500 contributions, you can ask Jukk to refresh your style.

Obsidian mirror. Tired of that hairstyle or tattoo? This mirror is more than just an elegant home accessory. Change your appearance by interacting with it.

Your house, your rules. If you pass out in your house, you will still wake up there.

And more! The full changelog is listed below 🎉

We hope you enjoy the QoL update and have as much fun as we did making it. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress along the Road Map.

Also, if you haven’t left a review yet, we would greatly appreciate it if you would. 💖

Roots of Pacha Roadmap

First of all,

A little over a month has passed since the 1.0 release of Roots of Pacha. We couldn’t be happier with the initial reception of the game and can’t thank all of you enough. Your feedback and kind words have made us even more excited to see Roots of Pacha reach its full potential.

We’re also super excited to be included in the Cozy & Family Friendly Games Celebration! If you haven’t grabbed a copy there’s a 10% discount during the event.

We’re happy to see so many people making it to the end of the main story, enjoying the village they worked hard to create, watching their families grow, finding those rare and legendary animals, and even starting new saves to do it all over again! We think everyone will be extra excited to see what we have in store.

Driven by the setting, we took the risk of interweaving many of the systems in Roots of Pacha as it felt natural to make the community work as a real one. We feel this made RoP a unique take on a farming sim, with systems growing on top of each other like the farms you cultivate. To be able to achieve the same feeling, our current plan is to do 2 larger updates with a small patch leading up to them.

Beyond the Quality of Life patch, we can only commit to a general timeframe as we want to ensure the updates are of the highest quality and not rushed. As we get further along in development, we’ll be able to give you exact dates and in the meantime, we’ll share our progress via Discord and occasionally social media too.

A small update with a group of quality-of-life features, the promised localization fixes, and some commonly requested player feedback, which will come in the following weeks.

This update will focus on an expansion of the current systems. That includes children growing to the “kid stage,” plant and animal evolution, new Union locations, another romanceable option, the ability to break your union, and more interactions with pets. We also plan to expand the end-game content and include “smaller” details like players being able to sit in places around the world and other community suggestions.

We’d like to launch this update along with consoles. They’re separate processes that are currently being worked on in parallel, so we’re hopeful they’ll be ready at about the same time later this year.

This update will include a whole new level of content, like kids growing to teen years and “ball sport” from the Kickstarter stretch goals, but it will mainly consist of being able to visit the Mograni and Yakuan settlements. You’ll be able to explore their regions, the Tundra and Turtle Islands, find new fauna and flora, discover Ideas, meet new characters (some being romanceable), and dive into new caves. This will be a much larger update that will take more time to create. Our plan is for this one to come out sometime next year.

As we mentioned before, we can’t commit to exact dates for the updates yet as we want to make sure they’re meaningful and fully tested before they reach your hands. We’re confident that our team will be able to deliver it in an acceptable time frame.

Thank you all for following us on this journey. If you haven’t already, we’d greatly appreciate it if you could leave us a review on Steam. It helps a lot.

You rock!
