[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The 1.2 update and Xbox release are coming July 31st!

Check out the new trailer for some highlights, or continue reading for a more in-depth look at what's to come.

Wishlist Now on Xbox!
Animals
Progressing friendship with your pets will give you a few more perks. You’ll be able to ask them to fetch in different areas (like the Forest or Beach) and depending on the pet, they’ll return with items like herbs or red meat.

Some pets could also turn into your trusty mount. With enough friendship, you’ll cruise across the lands on the back of a mammoth or giant cave spider. Once you complete the main story you can get a “Baby Shroom” from the Glyptodon’s Tree Shop and turn your cave lion or wolf cub into their ridable adult forms.

The tall grass in the fields could obscure animals, but in the update, a little white arrow will appear over them so you can more easily find them.
Olla
The olla is an early watering Idea that can quench the thirst of the surrounding 8 plants for 2 days (16 plots worth of water total). Every two days or so you’ll want to refill the underground pot so that the plots can be watered. Your upgraded watering tools will save you in filling time. Your starter watering skin will take 8 splashes to fill the olla, while the most upgraded bucket will only need one. This new watering system should free up more time and stamina for other things in the early and mid-game.
School
A late game Idea where the clan’s children go learn with Daari. This new building will lead to
schedule changes, some automation on the farm with learning stations, and give your toddlers the ability to grow into children.
Learning station
After building the school, you’ll get a Learning Station that can be placed in the fields affecting a 7x4 area. After adding some contribution, the children will check it every morning to clean affected sheds and talk to the animals living inside, water and harvest plants, refill ollas, pump irrigation pumps, harvest honey, and harvest trees. Depending on your clan’s prosperity, you’ll get up to four Learning Stations.
New Stage for Children
Enrolling toddlers in school will cause them to grow into school-age children. These now active members of the clan can be found hanging out around the Village. Since we wanted your two children to not sound exactly the same, they will get dialogues based on one of 4 personalities, their parent at birth, their current parent, and whichever of the 8 professions you and your child choose. These combinations will help your children feel like more unique characters in the clan. You’ll get gifts from these characters based on the 32 different combinations of professions and personalities.

Dress your kiddos in hats and get new clothes for them from Jizu. Plus you’ll be able to change their hairstyle and color. Your children will also join you at festivals, including your newborn and toddlers.
Intermediate Saves
We’re happy to say that this much-requested feature will soon be in the game. By interacting with your bed, you’ll be able to “save at current” time or go to sleep for the night as usual.
Deepening Relationships
Form a Union with that special someone at one of the two new locations: the sandy Beach or the mysterious Caves. During the reception, you’ll now be able to kiss that special someone too.

After your partner moves in, they will now get up with you so you can chat with them before heading out for your day. They will also have more dialogues before and after you form a union with them.

Your partner, school-age children, or toddler nannies can be found sitting on the furniture you place inside your home. To pick the best-looking direction, you can set the “preferred sit direction” to ensure no one finds the wall super fascinating. 😆

The clan has always been fine with you dating multiple people, but if you’d rather not have them express their feelings in their 6 flower cutscenes, you can now let everyone know if you are or are not available to date others in the clan. The setting can be changed anytime in Settings->Gameplay and won’t affect your ability to use the context action “Start Dating.”
More Representation
Korean and traditional Chinese languages are being added across platforms!

You can also choose from five new skin tones and five new hair colors to create your perfect Pachan.
Quality of Life
We’ve incorporated a bunch of your much-requested features into the upcoming update and believe it will help make the game an even better experience for many. Here’s just some of what is being added:

 • A button to take a screenshot without the UI.
 • Cave challenges can be exited to retry later. They can also be skipped and marked as completed, although no achievement will be given in this case.
 • Trap locations are shown on the map after interacting with them and denote whether they have a trap set and if it’s caught something.
 • Quick “Transfer all” and “Transfer matching” options in storage boxes and inventory. New Sorting methods as well.
 • The unstuck button changed from a “Go back a few steps” to “Go back to checkpoint” when in the caves and now works when in owl/monkey mode.
 • You can put multiple items in processors (solar dryers, fermenters, etc.) by holding the main action button. This also works when picking up the produced items.
 • And more!!

Thank you all for your continued support! We can’t wait for you to get the update on July 31st! 🎉
Wiki
Thanks to the work of many community members, we now have an “official” wiki. We are endlessly grateful to those who contributed to the Fandom Wiki and helped other players get into the game. A few contributors wanted a bit more control over how the page is laid out and transfer the info to wiki.gg. They also worked with us to get updated info

Devlog 42: What’s to come in the 1.2 and 1.3 update!

We’ve been hard at work developing the future content for Roots of Pacha and have devised a plan so that we can get you what was promised as soon as possible. Since all the content we want to add takes time to design, develop, and test, we’ve divided it into two juicy updates. The 1.2 update and the even bigger 1.3 update. With the 1.2 update arriving in early Q3 (in about 4 months).

What the 1.2 update will include:
Xbox
This update will accompany the game’s release on Xbox. Xbox players will be able to enjoy the update and play in co-op with friends across platforms!
Kids
Pachans love their children, and so do we. So we wanted to make sure having them felt like a meaningful addition to the experience. As before, you’ll be able to have two children, but once you build a school, you can send your toddler to school, and they’ll grow into a child. That child will have a set of dialogues and schedules to interact with you and the clan. With your gentle guidance, they’ll start to have their own interests in what they want to apprentice.
Kids’ Learning Station
The clan’s kids have always helped their parents. But with the addition of school, kids learn about animals and agriculture by helping with an area of the farm. You’ll get help with the farm, and the kids get hands-on experience!
Union locations
With so many beautiful places near the land, you’ll be able to select a location that perfectly fits you and your new partner.
Fishing Game UI
In the update, each biome will have a unique look to its fishing mini-game.
Pets
Animals have helped humanity throughout time, and soon, our pets will as well. You’ll be able to assign them to gather things for you. A cave lion might bring back meat, while a bunny might bring back produce.

Wolf pups and cave lion cubs have been warming themselves by our hearths for quite some time, and these two will grow into their adult versions if fed the right thing. Otherwise, these cute babies will stay as they are.
Early Watering system
Watering crops can be time-consuming, so the clan will have an idea for a more localized version of irrigation earlier in the game. This should help free up players to explore and do more in their Stone Age day.
More Dance Songs
You’ve already been able to dance with your Pachan friends, but with the update, you’ll hear a few different songs when you boogie with your buddies.
OST update
Roots of Pacha is filled with music, and soon, more of those songs will be added to the OST!
You can listen here to some samples
And more!
There’s more we are working on, including QoL updates like saving at any point. It’s a feature that’s been requested a number of times as a way to make the game even more accessible.

What’s to come in the 1.3 update:

The team has been working on this update, and its large size is why we’ve decided to organize our work so that some of the remaining Kickstarter updates can be enjoyed sooner. Since these systems are all interconnected, they need to be developed in tandem and over a longer period of time.

What’s to come:
 • 4 romanceable characters
 • 18 non-romanceable characters (you can spot two in the union scenes above)
 • 2 new biomes with 4 subregions each
 • 1 new cave system with iron and other materials
 • Tent sleeping and unlockable homes in other regions
 • 2 new festivals with a ball sport mini-game
 • 4 new animals
 • 6 evolved animals
 • New plant variations
 • New line fishing mini-game
 • An unlockable place to play music in the Islands
 • An unlockable mini-game in the Tundra
 • Hangout spots
 • Many new cutscenes
 • Quests

As you can see, we’re developing quite a bit, and this isn’t even everything! For example, we know we will be making more decorations and introducing the promised time traveler. It’s a lot, but we’re confident that at the rate we are developing, we’ll be able to add meaningful content to the game that will be worth the wait.
