To use Time Brush, press on button "Q" and then "Q" again to disable it.

You can now type in text with any kind of font. Shortcut is button "W".

Hair brush is now in the latest build.

A new brush has been added to the left UI.

Since GMS2 doesn't save how the surface actually looks like, but saves the opacity as opacity in images, I had to change it to be a color mix instead.
