2.2 is OUT, Act 2 news, Pricing, and more!

[p]Hello everyone and happy holidays! The newest update 2.20 is out now! This update includes tons of QOL improvements, performance updates, hundreds of bug fixes, and so much more.[/p]
2.2 Update
[p]Biggest Features:[/p]
  • [p]Reimplemented the inventory system from scratch, swapping out the last slot for an "accessory" slot, making it much easier to use accessories in game.[/p]
  • [p]Major improvements to all UI across the board. UI is more responsive, animated, and consistent[/p]
  • [p]Added more clear story beats to Act 1 real world[/p]
  • [p]Act 1 real world now includes cutscenes for important set pieces (broken window, aes, ceo office, etc). This helps make sure players don't miss the story! [/p]
  • [p]Rerouted Act 0 to make the phone scene optional. This is because it is long, sometimes boring, and not super necessary to new players who just want to get into the action[/p]
[p]Act 0:[/p]
  • [p]Improvements to the house scene[/p]
  • [p]Improvements to the bike scene (more vfx + scripted appearances)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a long standing issue with the bike which made movement weird[/p]
[p]Act 1 Real World: [/p]
  • [p]Added more mold in the real world + mold puffs[/p]
  • [p]Added more dynamic sfx in the real world[/p]
[p]General:[/p]
  • [p]Improvements to culling, the game should now perform better, especially behind locked doors![/p]
  • [p]Brand new bug reporting form, more responsive and more stable![/p]
  • [p]You can now switch your active universe from the title screen[/p]
  • [p]You can now choose which act to start a new game[/p]
  • [p]You can now easily choose your difficulty + custom difficulty when starting a new game[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue causing the player to not be able to look around in some cases[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue preventing the player from uncrouching in certian cases[/p]
  • [p]THOUSANDS of bug fixes (im not kidding, thank you to everyone who reported them!)[/p]

Act 2
[p]As some of you know, Act 2's development has been quite slow and difficult. I completely restarted development earlier this year, specifically on Lucy's AI. This is because to be frank, the old system was horribly designed. Since then, however, I've made substantial progress. Within the last few months, I've gotten to the point where I am now the furthest in development I've ever been! Which is huge for just a few months of work. I've had the act beta tested and the response was wonderful.[/p][p]I fully expect Act 2 to be released next year (2026). I really cannot wait for you all to see it, I am so proud.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Pricing
[p]Venge used to cost $4.99 usd when first released, but I lowered it to $1.99 to reflect 1.0's poor quality. Since the release of 2.0, 2.1, and now 2.2, I feel as though the quality level now justifies a higher price tag, so in the coming days, Venge will be back at $4.99 usd. I hope this new price represents the quality of the game better to new players, as well as fund Act 2's development (it desperately needs it haha). So this is your last chance to get Venge for $1.99 before its return to $4.99![/p][p][/p]
The Future
[p]Next year is looking strong, I cannot wait for Act 2 to finally come out, Venge to be continuously improved, and whatever else the future has in store. 2.1 Security Patch

[p]Hey all, Venge has now been patched from the recent unity exploit! Thanks so much for your patience. I'm currently working on a QoL/polish update which should be out very soon![/p]

Weekly Act 2 Development Livestreams

Starting this Saturday, I’m doing weekly livestreams while I work on Act 2! No massive spoilers or anything like that, just behind-the-scenes content and so much more!

Venge 2.1 is OUT - The Final Act 1 Update

Venge 2.1 is out! This update brings a ton of new content, polish, and a brand new minigame, ACT 1 MADNESS.

[h2]Act 1 Madness[/h2]
Act 1 Madness is the brand new minigame that features EVERY monster from Act 1, all attacking you, all at once. This minigame is extremely hard and will take a lot of practice to top the leaderboard. It can be unlocked once you beat Act 1!

Essentially, each boss has their own chamber. Inside of each chamber lives the monster and a snippet of their districts. Complete the chamber and collect their artifact to unlock the main gate to escape! However, once you beat a bosses' chamber they'll escape into the hub... which makes solving the other chambers more difficult!


[h2]Improved Real World[/h2]
The real world has been massively improved, including a fancy new intro that sets the tone much better, and some dangerous mold to keep you on edge! Explore the story of what happened to the employees and Rotnic itself...


[h2]New Cartoonist Boss Fight[/h2]
The cartoonist boss fight has been reworked to take way less time, down from about 1 hour to 30 minutes or less. The map is completely new and a lot smaller. There's now 4 entrances into the nest, with the cartoonist blocking each entrance off one by one as you play! This makes the boss fight way more interesting and much more fun.


[h2]Laserette Pacing Update[/h2]
The laserette has seen a minor pacing update, which speeds up the player and allows for a much more fluid and fast experience!

[h2]CEO Puzzle Repacing[/h2]
The "flipped falls and forgotten halls" scene has been cut down and repaced to be more enjoyable for newer players especially. The puzzle has been reworked and is now much faster with a more interesting cutscene!

[h2]New Sticky Notes[/h2]
Every sticky note has been rewritten to be more interesting and about half of them have been cut, making the whole experience way less annoying. The new story is a bit more obvious lore wise too.

[h2]Tons of new secrets have been added[/h2]

Some real world cartoons have been added, which help Rotnic feel more believable and alive! 3 were made by me, 2 by other artists! (Xioanz and ???)

Patch 2.09

The last patch before the massive 2.1 update is out! Here is the list of things fixed:

  • All known softlocks have been fixed
  • Fixed the josh the rock artifact
  • Fixed a strange collision issue in desolate fields
  • Fixed a crash when entering the secret death hall
  • Fixed the secret daycare room bug
  • Fixed a softlock where grobernober will eat your power cell
  • 4 new bike controls have been given custom keybinds + proper controller support
  • Fixed some missing controller support issues
  • Fixed josh not working at all
  • Fixed items being teleported to you in the vents after cartoonist if you spared her
  • Fixed an issue where you were not able to get achievements from completing minigames (IM SO SORRY)
  • Fixed an issue where apon relaying Mission Abort, you'd have all of the task items needed.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the player to fall through the floor at the skeleban crusher
  • Fixed an issue with the alertenist continuing to be animated when the screaming stops
  • Implemented a new option on the coaster console to allow limiting the messages to the previous 1000.
  • Massive console speed improvements
  • Other issues I forgot


[h2]Venge 2.1 is next[/h2]
Venge 2.1 will be a massive improvement to 2.0, including some awesome new stuff:
  • New 5th ending to the real world
  • Act 1 Madness
  • Sub-save loading (You can finally save your progress in cartoonist, then finish the next day)
  • New loading screens (this will fix 99% of game crashes)
  • New settings page (you'll be able to search / itll have more settings)
  • New artifacts and secrets
  • and SO MUCH MORE!
