Small update

Ahoy, sailors!

This is a small update to some of the boats to improve their behavior in rough seas.

Driving a boat at full speed during bad weather is dangerous due to our realistic buoyancy system, which shows how boats behave in rough conditions. High speeds make boats unstable and hard to control in turbulent waters, increasing the risk of capsizing or swamping. Waves and strong winds can lift and toss the boat, similar to how objects lose stability in turbulent fluids. Slower speeds improve maneuverability and control, allowing safer navigation through rough seas. Therefore, reducing speed during bad weather is crucial for safety and stability.

Changelog
• Balanced Conquest, Røster, Fixer and Skarven, should now perform better in rough seas

Patch - Release Notes Version 0.7.2.782

The new patch brings general improvements, fixes, and the long-awaited storms in Ships At Sea! We've added a new system to ensure calm seas around the ports, allowing us to re-enable the storms you've been eagerly awaiting.

Among other things, this update focuses on the clean-up trash mission, making it easier to place trash bags on the work deck after collecting them from the sea and we also increased the pick-up range of the bags for a smoother mission experience. Additionally, we've added anchor icons to the map to indicate docking locations.

For more details please see below!
Storms Enabled
Introducing the first version featuring calm seas around harbors and shallow areas, allowing us to reactivate storms, and increasing wave heights on the open ocean. We hope you enjoy this exciting new dimension of the game and the enhanced maritime challenges it brings!
• Wave heights reaching 12-14 meters in the open sea, with no calm waters during the storm.
• Storm occurs between 7 - 14 days in-game time
• Storm intensity increased to Beaufort 9-12. Regular weather now ranges from Beaufort 1-6, with occasional conditions reaching Beaufort 7-9, though lower intensities are more common.
Map
• Anchor icons to indicate docking locations all around the map
• Included showing docking areas in the Filter
Changelog
• Adjusted trash bag pick-up range and collision for easier placement on the work deck
• Added anchor icons to indicate docking locations on the map
• Added saving and restoring the state of timers for fish farms
• Added pallets to the trash delivery area on Værøy
• Adjusted wakes on Fixer and Skarven boats
• Cargo mission warning message has been updated
• Enabled storms and wave heights has been increased
• Fixed several typos in the text throughout the game
• Fixed a problem where fuel stations would not register that a boat was docked after loading a savegame
• Fixed an issue where keybindings did not work for the rowing boat
• Implemented the first version of the system designed to ensure calm seas around ports and shallow areas
• Improvements to multiplayer savegame, which should resolve the issue causing crashes when a client re-joins a session
• Increased external fuel tank capacity to 50,000 liters
• Several environment improvements

We are continuing to work on improving the savegame system and are committed to resolving the current issues. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we work towards delivering a better gaming experience.

New patch with numerous improvements

Ahoy, sailors!

A next wave of fixes and improvements to enhance your maritime experience. Please see below for a detailed look at what's included in this patch.
Date and Time Format
We have added the option to customize your date and time formats. You can now choose between ISO (international standard), USA, and EU date formats. Additionally, you are able to switch between 24-hour and 12-hour time formats according to your preference.
Changelog
• Added additional collision geometry beneath the net hauler sorting table to prevent fish from passing through the table surface
• Added options to choose the date and time format in the settings menu. Date and Time are no longer formatted in the local timezone.
• Adjusted the number of traps on fish during net hauling
• Adjusted the spawn location when entering Tier 2 Cargo Boat, to avoid getting stuck when fully loaded
• Despawned physical fish from the fish box after completing net fishing while retaining them in the boat inventory for selling.
• Fixed a bug where the timers for bank loans, fines, and insurance were not being restored correctly from savegames.
• Fixed a potential crash with the sonar
• Fixed crash when updating fish habitat or map marker
• Fixed crashes related to fines
• Fixed GPU crashing when scrolling through ship upgrades
• Fixed potential crash when returning with a boat full of fish
• Fixed emissive materials for the boats Røster and Conquest
• Improved calendar and time management systems
• Improved fish attachment to the fishing net, resulting in smoother behavior of large fish when pulled through the net hauler
• Improved net hauling visuals by representing all caught fish of the same species with a single physical fish, which means losing that fish results in losing the entire catch of that species.
• Improved wave buffer management and water simulation stability to reduce visual artifacts, ghost waves, and streaking during rapid camera movements
• Implemented the concept of ageing fishing nets. As time passes, the nets should be able to catch more fish.
• Increased emissive output of the net untangle marker material (spikes) to enhance visibility at night
• Only consider fish sizes when hauling the fishing net that actually occurs in the catch from the habitat
• Prevented weather extrapolation during overrides to fix issues with extreme waves and sudden weather changes around storms. Shore waves are now fixed in size and no longer tied to the Beaufort scale to eliminate unnatural fast-moving waves
• Restricted which fish species can be caught using longlining and net fishing
• We have improved a few of the port areas and expanded accessible regions for players to explore on foot

We hope that this update enhances your gaming experience. We will continue our work and aim to resolve the issues between the client and the host soon, especially related to net fishing mechanic.
We wish everyone a great start to the new week!

Ahoy, sailors!

Here is a small update with a few fixes. The Net Fishing is now enabled again, and we've fixed some common crashes on GPUs. With this update, the net fishing now includes an emergency stop button. This allows you to stop the fishing process, removing all fish and returning your net to the boat's storage.

Changelog
• Adjusted throttle position on DrPhil
• Adjusted wake on DrPhil and Conquest
• Disabled native FSR3 to potentially fix many common GPU crashes
• Enabled net fishing, which also has an emergency stop button in case you need to stop the hauling process
• Fixed lateral sea markers around Værøy that do not show up on the map as they should
• Fixed problem with tutorial window not closing when cancelled
• Fixed typo in Yamar engine upgrade
• Fixed missing collision on island northeast of Røst
• Improved water shader, should have less graphical glitching, especially on low settings
• Insurance is stored in the savegame
• Limited number of nets you can hold on Conquest
• Several minor improvements and optimizations
