FotoMuseo 3D News

FotoMuseo 3D continues growing in content!!

As I had been promising since FotoMuseo 3D saw the light in May of this fateful 2020, I continue working on adding new content and improvements to existing ones in FotoMuseo. And, considering it's my first big official indie game in 3D (since I did the LEFT 4 SGC campaign for LEFT 4 DEAD 2), I am very satisfied with the result.

Although if I have learned something with this tour, it is that what satisfies you today, tomorrow will seem little or bad ... so it will evolve to something better. Everything is in that I go step by step without giving up.

I would love to have some Feedback from the community, as any constructive criticism, ideas or comments would be welcome to accelerate the process of continuous improvement that the game has on my part. But hey, someday it will come. And if it does not arrive and the game is detailed to a small group of players who gave it a chance, at least I will be satisfied with the path traveled and the one that I want to continue traveling.

As I already said, this news is in line with a major content update on the game's internal forum. Some of the many improvements that have been developed have been published on my Youtube channel under the title of DEVELOPER DIARY.

The first one was to show the functional improvement of the Teleportation System. And, thanks to this improvement, it's easier to create SEVERAL destinations for the same teleportation:

The second DEV DIARY was to improve the Activation System of the Stargate AHEM!! From EarthGate and its activation:

The third is one of the most complex for me. Improve the exteriors by creating my own vegetation system for the grass, taking advantage of the one that already existed in the graphic engine:

The forth is perhaps the one that people who are not dedicated to exploring will see the least. Since it is part of a secret UNLOCKABLE content in LEVEL 2. The 3D radar that tells us where a pedestal is located that will take us to a hidden area of the sky (heaven) ... And with "heaven", Dragon Ball fans will know what I mean:

The fifth is part of the third. It's the improvement of the Vegetation System but now to give more life to the trees with movement in their leaves and their branches:

Although there is much more content developed for this great update such as:

  • Improvement of the Dialogue System to be able to create subtitled conversations or explanations.
  • Improved Language System to add new languages in the future if necessary.
  • Now we activate the EarthGate in the same garden, instead of doing it remotely from the spaceship.
  • Reserved a new location (second house) in the first level of the tutorials for the near future.
  • Improved the object management system in the 2D hands with which we interact.
  • Added the fire effect through a Sprite system.
  • Added texture movement effect using scripts.
  • Creation of a new secret area hidden and unlockable under a small puzzle in LEVEL 3 of the game.
  • ONE new ship model was developed, and TWO new ones were added to decorate the port.
  • Restructured the Main FotoMuseo Zone to add access to rooms 201 to 20X for the future EXPO.
  • Improved animations and interactions with the FotoMuseo Receptionist to whom we exchange the ticket to Expo 365 Nostalgic Items.
  • Created an interactive Camera System in the Main Area of the FotoMuseo with a small unlockable secret.
  • Improved the diving system of the aquatic area of Room 102.
  • Added the 3D model of the security camera for all the rooms from where we will record the images of the Security System of the Main Zone
  • Improved the unlockable Secret Access System in one of the Rooms. I won't tell you which one. You will have to find it for yourself. ;-)
  • Created a little nod to creator Eric Matyas in Room 103, unlockable with a little secret.
  • Added a surprise in the last of the expo rooms.
  • Optimized the rain system to reduce the graphic memory required for rendering in the player's camera.
  • Optimized the flying transport system in the first and last levels of the game. This platform is supposed to move materials from the port to the FotoMuseo in a comfortable way.
  • Internal improvements in the management of some textures.
  • Created a prologue to DEDICATE the 3D FotoMuseo to very special people and ...
  • ... of course to you for getting here.

There have been many more improvements, but I invite you to discover them step by step ...

I will continue working on FotoMuseo 3D. Adding more content, improving the existing one and correcting errors will be where they appear.

Finally, I want to share 2 more videos as a mere curiosity to this great content update:

FotoMuseo 3D opens its doors !!

After several months of work, and one month after the opening of the Store page on Steam, FotoMuseo 3D finally opens its doors to visitors who wish to purchase their ticket. The first EXPO available will be a selection of photographs from the 365 Nostalgic Project published in Variedalia.

And among these, the exploration of the levels, as well as the discovery of secret areas, will make FotoMuseo 3D a place to return to with new additions that I will be developing and publishing free of charge for anyone who has already acquired their copy.

I am very happy to be able to present FotoMuseo 3D to the world. Not only as a claim that I love creating my own worlds, but as a my own test of how far I have been able to go. And, after learning a lot with Valve's SOURCE graphics engine (HAMMER WORLD EDITOR) for my LEFT 4 SGC campaign on Left 4 Dead 2, it was to be expected that once LEADWERKS came out on Steam, it fell into my hands. Since this graphic engine is look like a lot to Hammer of Valve tool but with much more freedom to creating our own elements with LUA and C ++.

As I always say, all my projects are laying the foundations for future projects... LEFT 4 SGC opened the closure for FotoMuseo 3D. The 365 Nostalgic Items photographic project opened the way for photographic learning, and now I have something to present at the first EXPO... My own little 2D minigames opening the door about creating my own videogames, etc.

Who knows what new levels and maps I will design in future Expos within the FotoMuseo? I already have several ideas planned for the future.

However, now I will focus on the official launch today, May 18, 2020. These are hard days for many people in the world. So I hope this is worth for people to disconnect a bit from daily problems. Disconnect while that people is visiting FotoMuseo 3D.

Thank you!!
From the heart !!
I hope you like this!!

Russell.

Different photos, different themes, but always maintaining the same spirit and a great passion for this project.

We will see each other in the expos!!
