The 100-Player Twitch Chat Party Pack News

A new game, Splat Chat, is added to the party pack!

Hey there!

Hope you have been well!

I am excited to announce that my new game Splat Chat has been added to the 100-Player Twitch Chat Party Pack.

It's a simple game of luck and survival - each round, heavy objects will fall on random spaces and you and your chat will need to guess correctly to avoid getting splat. Easy to play, impossible to master, and a ton of fun with a full audience.

This is version 1, so I'm interested to know what you think about everything. Is the time between rounds too short or too long? Should the spaces be the same, or should there be even more? Too many objects falling? Not enough? I'll be happy to adjust as needed.

And if you're on the fence about buying the pack, you might want to grab it soon, as I'm planning on permanently increasing the price. As I add more games, the price is going to keep going up. But I think the streamers with a large audience that are looking for a game experience that no one else can provide will find these games and really love playing them with their chat.

Again, to all of you that have invited me into your streams to check out the games and provide feedback, thank you so much. You have really helped me make these games better and I'm excited to make a unique experience for you and your channel. Keep the feedback coming!

All the best!

2 days until Splat Chat. Screenshake is back! Price Increase soon.

Hey there!

Hope you've had a good week!

The first version of Splat Chat is almost done and I'll have it in your hands in just 2 days! Based on some early feedback I think you and your stream are really going to like it. And if you haven't caught previous updates, the best way I can describe is - it's my 100-player take on Mario Party's It's the Pits (see video below), but instead, heavy objects fall from the sky and splat you. It's simple and super fun.

This week I was also able to make some improvements to the other games as well. The biggest was that I've finally re-implemented screenshake and it feels really good. It's presence was noticeably felt, so I'm glad I could get that worked out quickly.

One last major note: I will be doubling the price of the party pack soon! If you got in early, you're lucky you did because I'm going to keep add more and more unique games that can only experienced with a big audience. It's going to be a fun journey and thanks for being an early supporter!

Fixes and additions in version 0.53 are

  1. Screenshake is back in all the games!
  2. Fixed a few messages in Minesweeper Extreme: 100 that were using the old coordinate system instead of the new Battleship system.
  3. Added a few blocks of text for other languages than English
  4. Looooots of code cleanup so future games can be built faster
  5. Even UI cleanup. I can't believe how far we've come here.
  6. Tons more work on Splat Chat before release
  7. Fixed some bugs with the permanent crown system for viewers in the chat, assuming they win a game of Happy Tanksgiving

I'm going to stream some game design work over at my Twitch channel before I release. If you'd like to check in and ask some questions (or tell me what you'd like to see), subscribe to get a notification when I go live, and stop in to say hello!

Again, to all of you that have invited me into your streams to check out the games and provide feedback, thank you so much. You have really helped me make these games better and I'm excited to make a unique experience for you and your channel. Keep the feedback coming!

All the best!

Splat Chat is coming!

Hey there!

Hope you're doing well! I have been hard at work this week building a new game and I'm super excited to share it with you soon. It's called Splat Chat and it's a simple game of luck and survival for 100 people in your Twitch Chat. The best way I can describe is - it's my 100-player take on Mario Party's It's the Pits (see video below), but instead, heavy objects fall from the sky and splat you. It's simple and super fun.

On top of all the work on Splat Chat, I've spent a ton of time building out some systems that will be implemented soon. The biggest is a tool that adds somewhat-intelligent bots to all the games. I figure it will give all streamers a way to somewhat experience the chaos of a full house, even if they only have a small audience.

Fixes and additions in version 0.52 are

  1. Added a cool Steel-Battalion-style lock when certain keys are disabled in Minesweeper Extreme: 100
  2. Actually for real fixed the bug where 2-factor authentication would die and the game would be stuck
  3. Fixed a crash bug in Minesweeper Extreme: 100's AFK mode. Whoops!
  4. Fixed a crash bug in Happy Tanksgiving where every one in a thousand times, a bullet would lose it's ID and crash the whole game. Still no idea how it's happening, but it won't crash the game anymore!
  5. More UI cleanup everywhere
  6. Fixed the ping list not being in the right place for Minesweeper Extreme: 100
  7. Lots of art and animations added to Splat Chat

To all of you that have invited me into your streams to check out the games and provide feedback, thank you so much. It's because of you that these games are getting better and things are getting fixed. Keep the feedback coming!

That's all for now and I hope you enjoy the latest update.

All the best!

New game will be added next week. Features and bug fixes added today!

Hey there!

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm back from vacation and working on a new game that will be added to this pack next week. It's called Splat Chat, and it's an extremely simple game where heavy objects fall from the sky each round, and everyone needs to pick a random square to move to and hope they survive. The games it's closest to are Perfect Match in Fall Guys and It's the Pits in Mario Party. Imagine a very, very simple version of this, supporting 100 players:

I'm really far in development, but the beta version is not done yet. It should be in your hands by the end of next week.

I also fixed a massive connection bug, where sometimes the 2-factor authentication would fail and you'd be stuck. It took me months to figure out, but hopefully it's gone forever.

Outside of all the work on that, the biggest change is actually adding buttons on screen for arrow key movement for Minesweeper Extreme: 100. Hopefully this makes it easier for people to figure out how to control their character (WASD won't work because D is for Dig) when they are juggling a million things on stream.

Other fixes in version 0.51 are

  1. Fixed a bug where 2-factor authentication would die and the game would be stuck
  2. More UI cleanup on Minesweeper Extreme: 100
  3. Way more translations have been added for French/Spanish/Korean
  4. Added art and animation for keyboard keys
  5. Lots of code cleanup and art cleanup

To all of you that have invited me into your streams to check out the games and provide feedback, thank you so much. It's because of you that these games are getting better and things are getting fixed. Keep the feedback coming!

That's all for now and I hope you enjoy the latest update.

Complete UI overhaul for Minesweeper Extreme: 100 plus French/Korean/Spanish

Hey there!

Huge news for you Minesweeper Extreme: 100 fans around the globe.

  1. The UI for this game has been completely overhauled and made simpler for everyone to understand. The game now links to a website with full rules and animations, so everything is easier to figure out and your viewers don't have to feel as rushed. Everyone seems to do well with how this works in Kukoro, so that'll work for me too.
  2. There is now full support in Minesweeper Extreme: 100 for French, Korean, and Spanish languages. This took a ton of time to work through, but it's done and barring a few Korean issues (the bot can't send korean messages through Twitch chat for some reason) it all works flawlessly. Hope Google Translate didn't trick me anywhere!

I also made it so Happy Tanksgiving will unlock when 10 people play Minesweeper Extreme: 100 at the same time. That game literally does not work with a small number of players, so I made the hard choice to lock it away until the game knows you have the right number of viewers.

These fixes took me all week, and I'm so excited to finally share this new version with you. Here is the full list of changes:

Latest changes in version 0.50:

  1. Complete UI for Minesweeper Extreme: 100 to make everything easier to get into and play and see what's going on
  2. French/Spanish/Korean translations for Minesweeper Extreme: 100
  3. Implemented a !howtoplay command that gives viewers the rules
  4. Happy Tanksgiving is now unlocked when 10 viewers play Minesweeper Extreme: 100 at the same time
  5. Fixed a bug where AFK mode would break in Minesweeper Extreme 100 after one game
  6. If there is one second left it now says one second instead of one seconds which has bothered me for the longest time
  7. Added twitch chat commands for French and Spanish
  8. Code cleanup

Known issues in version 0.50:

  1. An update to Game Maker Studio 2 broke my awesome screenshake and I haven't been able to re-implement it. Curses!

As always, I love to get feedback, and let me know how I can make the game better for your stream.

That's all for now and I hope you enjoy the latest update!

All the best!
