Update 1.0.98_r

Features
  • Undead research tree with 64 techs;
  • New playable Undead units:
    1. Hunting Fiend;
    2. Flesh Collector;
    3. Thundering Amalgam;
    4. Drake of Progressive Rock;
    5. Drake of Hard Rock;
  • New skills for the playable Undead units (both new and old), including the Grim Pilgrim’s "Call for reinforcements";
  • New Undead resource: Death Metal, as well as buildings for storing it and extracting: Death Metal Mines and Death Metal Storages;
  • New building for the playable Undead: Dealer Worm, which allows the Undead to exchange resources;
  • New defensive structures: Undead Towers and Massive Undead Towers. They can hold ranged units (Hunting Fiend, Grim Pilgrim, Machine o'Flesh, Thundering Amalgam);
  • Troop Spawn Tool is now in the Sandbox mode — the same that is used in the Map Editor to spawn player’s units;
  • 4 new Challenge mode maps: Dead city, Take it on the otherside, Clash of the titans, Fall from grace, where you can test the updated Undead;
General
  • Changed the mechanic of soil defilement:
    1. Soil Defilers removed (their model is now used for the Flesh Collector);
    2. Defiling Monuments are now built as regular buildings and, unlike other Undead structures, do not require defiled soil beneath them;
    3. The limit on Soil Defilers has been replaced with the Defilement resource. It limits the number of certain player buildings, and its capacity can be increased by building Defilement Catchers;
Improvements
  • Added information about the previously hidden unit stat: "Stability". The higher the Stability, the harder it is for enemies to push the unit away, and the easier he breaks through enemy lines. The same is true for enemy units;
  • The Twilight Overlord’s Avatar is now highlighted with a unique effect, improving its visibility;
  • Minor visual improvements;
  • Minor UI/UX improvements;
Balance
  • Complete overhaul of prices due to economic changes;
  • Complete redesign of the playable Undead unit formations due to the addition of new units;
  • Zombie:
    1. Health: 45 → 40;
  • Drake of Doom:
    1. Damage: 4 → 3;
  • Dreadful Ghoul:
    1. Damage: 6 → 3;
    2. Health: 60 → 50;
    3. Enemy detection range: 6 → 5 cells;
  • Shepherd of Horrors:
    1. Damage: 9 → 6;
    2. Health: 200 → 110;
    3. Health regeneration rate: 4/sec → 3/sec;
    4. Recruitment time: 8 → 3 sec;
  • Grim Pilgrim:
    1. Damage: 45 → 35;
    2. Recruitment time: 15 → 8 sec;
  • Machine o’Flesh:
    1. Attack area radius: 1.6 → 1.4 cells;
  • Citadel of the Undead I, II, III:
    1. Defilement radius: 9 → 14 cells;
    2. Defilement cap increase: 6 → 4;
  • Defiling Monument:
    1. Defilement radius: 6 → 8 cells;
  • Defilement Catcher I:
    1. Defilement cap increase: 2 → 4;
  • Defilement Catcher II:
    1. Defilement cap increase: 4 → 8;
  • Transgressor of the Undead:
    1. Dead Souls consumption to produce 1 Soul Crystal: 40 → 50;
  • Campaign mission “Dangerous tour” (in the Undead branch):
    1. Attacking waves strengthened at all difficulties;
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where players did not get the achievement “Rebel! Rebel!” when siding with the Rebels via the hidden route (which grants “Champion of the rabble”). Now the hidden route grants both achievements at once, without requiring replaying missions;
  • Fixed an issue where player units could enter Ozzy’s cocoon;
  • Minor UI bug fixes;
  • Minor localization fixes.

1 day till rock!

[p]Pupultas!
[p]The updated Undead is almost here. Soon you’ll be able to test the changes yourself!
[p]Where though? Well, beside the campaign and one Endless map (Rock-n-Rolla), in this update we are adding 4 new challenges that will show the Undead in all of their glory!
[p]Today we’re also releasing Abra-Cooking-Dabra! If you like card games, cooking and puzzles — give it a look!

2 days till rock!

[p]Pupultas!
[p]2 days left before the Undead power surges over 9000!
[p]Another thing we haven’t mentioned yet is the rework of the base expansion mechanic. Right now you need to train Soil defilers, wait till they reach the spot you want, then turn them into Defiling monuments. In the new version we’ve cut those unnecessary steps and you will be able to place Defiling monument right away as usual buildings (their amount is limited as before though, and can be increased with additional Defilement catchers).
[p]We hope easier expansion will make it even more fun!

3 days till rock!

[p]Pupultas!
[p]There’s only 3 days left before the Undead update! The final preparations are in full swing.
[p]While we’ve covered some changes in dev diaries, there are still a couple of new changes.
[p]For example, we’ve mentioned the new skill of Grim Pilgrims, that lets them summon a bunch of drakes. But other units receive skills too. Probably the most awaited is “Wall Breaker” skill for Machine o’Flesh, which allows them to deal more damage to buildings, making them a true siege engine! We’ve also mentioned the “Cocoon” skill of Flesh Collectors — after using it they become temporarily immune to damage.
[p]The rest of the new skills you’ll see in the game!

About the Undead update: units and more

[p]Pupultas!
[p]We continue shedding light on the changes the upcoming version will bring. Today we’ll look into the updated roster of units (and not only).
[p]First of all, though the Undead still prefer their own bodies as walls, the advantage of elevation is clear even for them. As such, they’ve developed construction techniques that allow for building special platforms from where they can shoot farther.
[p]Obviously, the new towers need more units to occupy them. The Hunting Fiend will make sure to rain death on those who dare to oppose the Song.
[p][p]Despite it not being a new unit, we can’t ignore Grim Pilgrims. You asked and we are delivering: they will be able to spawn their support group. Yes, the same way they can do it when they are the enemy (well, almost). You are paying for the research, though.
[p][p]It’s always fun to watch whole armies explode in Diplomacy is Not an Option. So we’ve added a new artillery unit that creates explosions amidst enemy ranks — Thundering Amalgam. It may seem to be just an improved version of Machine O’Flesh, but both of them have their own strengths and weaknesses.[p][p]Drakes now have two more variants: apart from the Drake of doom, there are now the Drake of Progressive rock and the Drake of Hard rock, each with their own skill!
[p][p]The old Soil Defilers were also repurposed: now called Flesh collectors, they are a mobile wall unit that can cocoon and ignore damage, protecting their more squishier peers.
[p][p]And a small video so you can see some of them in action!
[p]These are new units that will soon be added with the next update. As usual, we’ll be back with more news. Stay tuned!
