Diplomacy is Not an Option News

A bit more on surroundings

Good Lords and Fair Ladies!

Today we've prepared some news about the new surroundings. This one is called the Abberlore Valley.

It is notable not by cypresses and not even by the soothing color of greenery. The most important thing is the naming. After all, if this valley appears on the mission maps, it means that the city of Abberlore will show up as well. It also means that the protagonist will have a chance to visit the capital of Samreignia.... along with his troops.
In the end, let's say that we planned Abberlore quarterly and came up with a separate architectural style for the city. And you'll get a chance to see it as well as the capital's landmarks in one of the upcoming posts.

We thank you for your attention. See you soon!

Weather news

Good Lords, Fair Ladies!

The Weathermen are contradictory in their forecasts today. Some say that winter will return to the Mysterious Continent and temperatures will drop to record lows. If so, it's going to look something like this:

The Samreignian Hydrometeorological Center recommends citizens not to leave their homes because of the risk of hypothermia.

However, another part of weather forecasters completely disagrees with the former conclusions and believes that temperatures, on the contrary, will rise. Meteorologists from Niniende insist: it will be hot for a long time. The good news is it'll be sunny, with no precipitation. In that case, the picture will change as follows:

We, the developers, believe it's better to leave forecasters to their discussion. In the meantime, we'll think about how the temperature anomalies may affect the gameplay of Diplomacy is Not an Option.

We'd love to see your thoughts on that topic as well. Feel free to share ideas in the comment section!

New Surroundings

Good Lords, Fair Ladies!

As you may have figured out by taking a glance at the story campaign map, the geography of the main character's journey - Milord - is quite wide. Accordingly, you will have to fight and survive in different terrains. So far, there are only three in the game: the Meadows of Lizway, the Forests of Penderain, and the Rusty Wastelands. (The easiest way to see them is to play Sandbox mode since there you can choose the surroundings). Today we want to show you another five.
Welcome to the Diplomacy is Not an Option's geographical society!
Rothglen Hills
Here, in the east of Samreignia, you can see the pine trees on the seashore. It is from here Milord will set out on his Odyssey. (Not least due to the famous unfriendliness of Rothglenians).
Mystic Shores
Milord has a pretty good chance of seeing this subtropical idyll. Well, not quite idyll, because there'll be plenty of those who want to kill him.
Sacred forest
A true wonder of nature - forests, as if frozen in the eternal and beautiful ochre autumn. But even here, there are definitely some who would challenge Milord.
Niniende Highlands
Snow-covered grass, clean air, and the pleasant freshness of the approaching cold. However, it is hardly possible to relax, enjoying the spectacular views, because the mountains conceal a lot of dangers...
Gloomy dungeons
What are they? Caves? Casemates? Dungeons? You will find out when you pass the Diplomacy is Not an Option's story campaign.

In conclusion, we'd like to say that all of the above will appear sooner or later in the Challenge Mode, the Endless Mode, and the Sandbox Mode. Stay tuned for further updates!
