Before we get to the point, we want to say a few words about the Playtest. First of all, we are deeply grateful for the huge amount of feedback you provided - seriously! 🤩

Your enthusiasm and awesome testing skills overwhelmed us and thanks to you, we were able to introduce lots of fixes, improvements, and quality-of-life changes. We had only a few days from the launch of the Playtest to the release of the Demo version of the game, but thanks to your amazing cooperation, we managed to make huge progress. Thank you, everyone! 🙏

The demo, which is open to all the players around the world, will give you a taste of what awaits you in the full version of the game 🤓 As mentioned, we've been working really hard on improving the Demo to make it as fun and relaxing experience as possible. You must be wondering... what has changed? No worries, we got you - here is a list of the most important changes that have been made from the Playtest to the Demo version of Builders of Greece.

• Most importantly, we dealt with the numerous bugs you reported - that was the biggest and the most difficult challenge

• We have made some corrections and updates to the translations

• We have added support for more monitor resolutions

• Overall AI and game balance received a good deal of adjustments and fixes

We are very happy that you are accompanying us on our way with the Builders of Greece project. The Playtest and Demo versions are huge milestones that bring us closer to our main goal, which is the release of the full version of the game ✊ Seeing your first reactions and comments, we are very optimistic... over 80% of you rated the early version as POSITIVE! For a game developer, there is no better reward and motivation. Once again - thank you all and let's keep on rolling! 😁

Builders of Greece Playtest update

Over the last two days, we have received A LOT of feedback, reports, and suggestions... and you know what? We simply love it! 😍 You can be sure that all of them are thoroughly analyzed by our team. It was thanks to the data collected from our testers that we were able to launch the first update of our Playtest! Are you curious what has changed?

[h2]Let's take a look![/h2]

The short answer is... quite a lot! We've decided not to describe every single change in detail, but rather give you an overview of the implemented fixes in the form of a list 📜:

• Camera movement and control improvements
• Illegible fonts fixes
• Localization improvements
• UI scaling fixes
• UI text fixes
• Adjustments to the balance of food and resource production
• Adjustments to the maintenance costs of some buildings
• Numerous AI improvements
• Building removal system improvements
• Fixes to progress saving and loading systems
• Terrain fixes
• Numerous bugs fixes

However, our work doesn't stop there! 🛑 Our next goal is to finish all the UI panels, fully fix localization issues, add new animations and AI interactions, implement support for new resolutions, and further bug fixes. The Demo Version is around the corner, but we believe that thanks to your continued support and awesome feedback, we will get 100% out of it! Thank you, everyone! 😉

Today is the day, everyone! 🤩 From now on, you have a unique chance to take on the role of a mighty ancient ruler and shape the fate of your very own city and its inhabitants. As you know, over the last few weeks, you have had the opportunity to sign up for the list of players willing to take part in our Playtest... and you know what? Your enthusiasm blew us away!

The number of players who signed up for this event exceeded our expectations. That really means a lot! Of course, we couldn't just leave your engagement unanswered! That being said, we will try to grant Playtest access to as wide a group of testers as possible (much wider than we originally assumed), meaning you have a fairly good chance to be selected! 📝 But the good news doesn't stop there - the Playtest will be soon followed by a Demo! Stay tuned, stay hyped, and keep an eye out for more news on this topic!

Please note, that though the Playtest is one hundred percent playable, it is still an early version of the game. All the mechanics, features, graphics, and optimization are subject to change 🛠 Not to mention, that the full version will offer many, many more buildings, events, systems, core mechanics, and possibilities. The main purpose of the Playtest is to introduce you to the world of Builders of Greece and give you the opportunity to express your opinion about it.

This is why we strongly encourage our testers to share their opinions via the feedback form available after completing the Playtest. We can't stress enough how important it is. Only with your help will we be able to make Builders of Greece even more fun and amazing ✌️😁

Discover interesting tips and tricks, learn how to effectively plan the development of your city, and check out how many useful structures you can raise - all this to the glory of a great ruler, such as yourself! 👑

Ancient Greece can boast of many great achievements, such as deep philosophies, geometry, or democracy. Among many others, we can also list the architecture. Today we will look at two magnificent structures that will prove that erecting breathtaking (and at the same time useful) buildings was their forte. All right! Grab your pen, scrolls, and... a towel!

[h2]Useful and pleasant - the Baths 🧼[/h2]

Ancient Greeks cared about their appearance and health (which was, in a way, the basis of their philosophy), so naturally, they also had to take a good care of their hygiene. Our today's first building helps them in this task. Let's take a look at magnificent, steamy Baths and check out how they can benefit your city.

As you can see, the Baths is a quite big and intriguing building. The entrance is decorated with ornaments, statues, and columns, and the roof is covered with red tiles. In its center, however, there is an exposed courtyard. Throughout the day, the Baths is filled with the sounds of conversations and splashing water. 💦 We mean... who wouldn't want to jump into the relaxing, clear water after long hours of work? Your subjects, weary of hard labor, can visit this facility to take a bath and improve their hygiene.

Maintaining high standards of hygiene is extremely important for the well-being of your city and its inhabitants. If you are struggling with maintaining cleanliness, your citizens will soon catch some nasty diseases that may prove fatal to them. Of course, the Baths is just one way to improve the quality of hygiene in your Polis, but it is definitely one of the most effective! Remember - a clean population is a healthy population.

[h2]Welcome to the Academy - the domain of philosophy and science 📖[/h2]

The history of Ancient Greece is full of great thinkers, philosophers, and inventors. The masters had their disciples, who in turn trained other scholars. But where did it all take place? The answer is... the Academy - the domain of philosophy and science. 📜 Let's take a peek at the brightest minds of the era and see what they're working on this time!

If philosophers and thinkers find your city an attractive place to settle, then the aforementioned Academy will be very, very useful to you. After meeting the appropriate conditions, the greatest theories and ideas will arise within its walls! Thanks to the work of the Academy, you will receive the so-called Research Points, which you can use to discover new technologies and solutions. As a ruler, you will have to analyze the current situation of your empire and decide which ones are most important and should be prioritized.

Your city can develop to some extent without the help of the Academy, but in the later stages of the game, it will get more and more difficult. Remember to take care of the intellectual growth of your Polis and its inhabitants, for the common good. Thanks to the wise disposal of Research Points, you will gain access to new buildings and opportunities - the sooner it happens, the better!

In the following parts of the series, we will return with descriptions of many other cool structures that will ensure the safety, well-being, and development of your city. We hope that Christmas and New Year's Eve were a time of peace and relaxation for you all, guys, because the beginning of 2023 brings us extremely exciting news! Soon, our first testers (that could be you!) 😮 will be able to enter the amazing world of Ancient Greece and see for themselves how many challenges and difficult choices an efficient ruler must face. That's right - from now on, you can sign up for the Builders of Greece Playtest and join the elite group of those who will be the first to set foot in Ancient Polis and feel the weight of the crown 👑

All you have to do is visit the Builders of Greece Steam page, find the "Join the Builders of Greece Playtest" section and click the "Request Access" button. Well done! 👍 If you get into the group of randomly selected players, you will receive an email from Steam. Our testers will also see their status on the store page for the base game.

And what if you weren't selected this time?... No worries, it's ok! The Playtest is only a prelude to the upcoming Demo version, which will be open to everyone who wants to try their hand as an Ancient city ruler. The demo will be out very soon, so don't worry... although we believe that Playtest will be a lot of fun 😁

You are probably wondering what the difference between Demo and Playtest is? Let's put it this way - Playtest is a rougher, slightly less polished, but still 100% playable version of the game, the goal of which is to provide us with as much feedback as possible.
