There is something else we wanted to talk about...

At the beginning of this announcement, we mentioned our Content RoadMap... In addition to the Pre-Playtest Contest, there is also a point about the new Trailer from the game. Our work on the Trailer is in full swing, and it looks much, much better every day! However... we have to postpone it to January 2023 - and for a good reason!

Creating a Trailer is quite a novelty for us, which, although inspires and excites us a lot, also slightly surprised us with its time-consuming nature ⏳ It's not an easy task, but we do our best to reflect the rich content and great fun of playing Builders of Greece. And believe us, there is a lot to show! That is why we have to ask you for a little more patience - thank you for understanding and your continued support, everyone!

Architect's Corner #7 - Cheesemaker and Herbalist huts

🏛️ Greetings Builders! 🏛️

Welcome to the next part of our "Architect's Corner" series, in which we tell you all about the buildings you will have at your disposal as a ruler of an ancient Greek Polis. Discover interesting tips and tricks, learn how to effectively plan the development of your city, and check out how many useful structures you can raise - all this to the glory of a great ruler, such as yourself! 👑
...and talk to the community and developers about the game!

A sneak peek at the huts of two extraordinary craftsmen

Today we will visit two quiet workplaces that, while seemingly very different, have a few common elements. Both of them are somewhat necessary for the life of your subjects and have a positive impact on their well-being and sense of security.

That being said, let's find out why you should consider building a Cheesemaker's hut and Herbalist's hut in your city and how they actually work to produce valuable goods. You can be sure that your community will be happy to have one of them in their neighborhood 😉 And as we all know, one of your goals is to keep them happy, isn't it?
Cheesemaker's hut 🧀

Cheese belongs to a much more advanced food category than basic foods like fish or game meat, which means it is generally more desirable and liked by your subjects. No wonder! As it is well known, cheese is tasty, nutritious, and healthy. 🍴 That is why it is so important that it regularly finds its way to the tables of your citizens to keep them fed and improve their mood and satisfaction. But how is cheese made? And what is needed to produce it? Let's reveal some of the Cheesemaker secrets!

In order for the Cheesemakers to start their work (in addition to building their hut!), you need to provide them with the required resources. These resources are milk produced on a goat farm and linen, woven in a loom. Thus equipped, the craftsmen can begin preparing their specialties. Thanks to their experience, skills, the right tools, and patience, the peculiar smell of cheese will soon waft over their hut 👃 Only the inhabitants of more advanced towns possess the proprer technology to place this building, so know that it will not be available from the beginning of your adventure in Builders of Greece.

It is worth noting that providing your population with various types of food improves their well-being, and cheese can certainly be counted on in this aspect 😊 So don't hesitate! Develop the right technology, find a convenient place, and order your subjects to build a Cheesemaker's hut for the common good of your Polis!
Herbalist's hut 🌿

Ahh... let's take a moment to relax in the garden. And not just in any garden, but the workplace of Herbalists. Their peaceful hut is surrounded by flower beds where all sorts of plants grow. The whole area is surrounded by a wooden fence to protect it from danger and harm 🍃 There is also a cellar that was built in front of the hut to dry, collect, and prepare the herbs for further use. Lovely, isn't it?

The main task of herbalists is, of course, growing and harvesting herbs. At first glance, it looks quite trivial, but you must be aware that herbs are very important to the prosperity of your city. Thanks to these awesome plants, pharmacists are able to produce medicines that help improve the health of sick people 🤧 If it weren't for the herbs, diseases could spread in your Polis, which could lead to an outbreak of epidemics! The health of the population is one of the most important factors that affects the proper development of your city - remember not to underestimate it and guarantee it a proper deal of your attention!

However, a herb garden left to itself, without caring hands to nurture it, would quickly overgrow with weeds, unwanted shrubs, and grasses. Fortunately, in this situation, you can count on the Herbalist. Let's see... there is a sharp sickle hanging at his waist, a leather bag thrown over his shoulder, and his head is full of the knowledge of all kinds of vegetation and plants 🌱

Their daily tasks include tending the garden and collecting mature herbs. It seems a fairly simple job, but make no mistake - without proper preparation and experience it would be virtually impossible to perform. Plant knowledge is passed down from generation to generation and is a very important aspect when it comes to the health of your population. Herbalists are people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty 🤲 and work on their knees if the situation requires it. Many of them say that their greatest reward is the undeniable contribution to the well-being of the city and seeing their loved ones and neighbors in good health. Way to go, guys!

In the following parts of the series, we will return with descriptions of many other cool structures that will ensure the safety, well-being, and development of your city. We hope that the buildings presented today will find their place among the streets of your Polis, and that they will contribute to the growth of your magnificent empire! 😀 As always - thank you and stay tuned!

The Ruler's Manual #6 - Food and Hunger

🏛️ Greetings, mighty Builders! 🏛️

Any ruler who wants to go down in history 📚 should get acquainted with the "Ruler's Manual" series! Why - you ask? Well, in the following entries we tell you about how to make your Polis wealthy, safe, and as prosperous as possible. And believe us, it's not as easy as it may seem!
...and talk to the community and developers about the game!

A few facts about the bellies of your subjects

Make no mistake, the subject of the abundance of your granaries and storehouses should not be taken lightly. In the past, many great empires collapsed due to crop failure, famine, and related riots or diseases 💀 And it is no different with the city that you will manage! The empty bellies of your subjects mean trouble - that's one of the golden rules that every wise ruler, like you, takes into account. On the other hand, well-fed, satisfied citizens will surely repay you with their hard work and obedience. You are about to learn how to achieve this favorable state of affairs and how to ensure that their tables are never empty!

Providing food for your citizens should be your priority from the very beginning of your reign. While they can do without comforts, access to luxuries, entertainment, or culture (at least for some time), hunger will quickly make them leave your city... or simply die. Since we do not want this to happen, today we will discuss how to wisely plan the production, transport, and distribution of edible goods 🍖 All right, it's time to visit Farmlands, Vineyards, Olive Groves, Bakeries, Granaries, Fishermen's huts, and Hunting lodges! As a ruler, you must make sure that their work is done quickly and efficiently.
Ways to feed the population

Fortunately, there are numerous different ways to produce or obtain food. Among the many buildings that you will have at your disposal as a ruler, you will soon find out that many of them are related to the production and storage of edible goods. The first two of them are the most primitive and closest to nature. Hunting Lodge and Fisherman's Hut 🐟 may not be too advanced, but they perfectly serve their purpose of feeding your subjects from the very beginning of the game.

In the next stages, you will be able to use more advanced food producers such as Wheat, Cattle, or Goat Farm. Milk and wheat produced there can be later processed into other goods. Thanks to them, various types of bakeries or the Cheesemaker's Hut can be built and operate in your city 🧀

In addition to the above-mentioned, you can also use the services of Winery, Olive Grove, Grapevine Plantation, Vinegar Distillery, Slaughterhouse, or Brewery, which also deal with the production of edible goods. However, there's more - every good ruler should know the great potential of trade. Remember that in case of a shortage of food in your city, you can always buy it from your neighbors ⚖ Crisis averted!
The more varied the better

While the main purpose of food is to keep your subjects alive, it is also important when it comes to their well-being. Even the best, beloved dish will get boring if it is the only dish on our tables for a long time. With that in mind, remember that the more varied their diet is, the happier they are 😊 When expanding your city, make sure that it offers its inhabitants different types of meals. The rule is quite simple! If your granaries and warehouses are filled with a variety of edible goods, your subjects will repay you with loyalty and diligence! You know what they say - a well-fed citizen is a good citizen!

In the following parts of the series, we will return to you with descriptions of many other important mechanics and tips that will help you become the greatest ruler of all time! As always - stay tuned.

Architect's Corner #6 - Odeon and Lesche

🏛️ Greetings Builders! 🏛️

Welcome to the next part of our "Architect's Corner" series, in which we tell you all about the buildings you will have at your disposal as a ruler of an ancient Greek Polis. Discover interesting tips and tricks, learn how to effectively plan the development of your city, and check out how many useful structures you can raise - all this to the glory of a great ruler, such as yourself! 👑
...and talk to the community and developers about the game!

Rest and recreation of your citizens

A hard day of work in a vineyard, sawmill, workshop or mine can take its toll... In such cases, your subjects will naturally long for a moment of respite and well-deserved rest 😴 And it is your job to meet these demands!

Today, we will take a closer look at two unique places in which people of your Polis can regain their exhausted strength and refresh their minds. Wise rulers know that the cultural and leisure needs of their subjects should not be taken lightly - in fact, they can significantly affect their level of satisfaction... and even attitude towards your reign!
Odeon

Just a quick glance is enough to discover that the Odeon is a place of high culture and art. A large, multi-story structure. Colorful columns, walls, and a tiled roof. Decorative statues and ornaments. When you stand at its door, it makes a truly stunning impression... and that's the goal! 🏛 One of Odeon's tasks is to provide your subjects with a sense of luxury, class, and grandeur. The real magic, however, begins after we cross its threshold...

The Odeon is where your townspeople can touch the eerie sphere of Sacrum and delve into beautiful musical and theatrical performances. Knowing the history of Ancient Greece, we understand how much importance was once attached to this type of cultural events. The Odeons and Amphitheaters were regularly filled with crowds of viewers who wanted to see the acting representation of myths, historical events, and the most interesting stories of the time 📜

It is no different with your subjects who gather in the Odeon you have built. Thanks to the culture your subjects acquire in such places, they can increase and improve their social status. This is especially important in the later stages of the game, when your city is already quite developed and needs noble families that increase its prestige and wealth 🧐 Obviously, building an Odeon is not cheap, quick, or easy, but at some point, this investment will definitely pay off - be sure not to miss it!
Lesche

Definitely less impressive and majestic... but still an equally important building! Wait - a simple, modest Lesche is just as necessary as the great Odeon? Well... of course! And this is why 😁

The majority of the society you will have an occasion to rule is made up of lower social classes. We are talking about basic, rather simple workers, who spend their days in places such as mines, farms, non-specialized workshops, or granaries. Undoubtedly, these are difficult and tiring professions...

That being said, it should come as no surprise that this wide group of your subjects prefers cheap and accessible kinds of recreation. And it just so happens that Lesche is one of them! 🍺 In fact, it's hard to find a better place to relax, grab something to eat, socialize with fellow citizens, and simply rest before the next day of hard work 🤝 The most important role of Lesche is to provide a refreshing meal to workers who are too far away from their homes during their working day. Such a visit saves a lot of time and energy!

Hosting dozens of guests, Lesche is constantly filled with sounds of laughter, cheerful conversations, and clanking of clay pots. It is true - it doesn't provide a deep cultural feeling like the Odeon, but it definitely does its job!

Choosing the right place and building Lesche will not be too difficult or expensive. It's an obvious advantage! You can easily place several of them among the streets of your city, to the delight of its inhabitants. You can be sure that your subjects will appreciate unfettered access to this tabernacle where they can rest and recharge their batteries! Cheers! 🍻

In the following parts of the series, we will return with descriptions of many other cool structures that will ensure the safety, well-being, and development of your city. We hope that the buildings presented today will find their place among the streets of your Polis, and that they will contribute to the growth of your magnificent kingdom! 😀 As always - thank you and stay tuned!
