v1.18.961 - NEW CARDS / FIXES / UI TWEAKS!



Thanks everyone for the feedback and bug report messages - as a solo game designer and developer your input really helps a lot!

[h2]Patch Notes[/h2]
Most people who have played over 10+ hours are saying they WANT MORE CARDS - so this update I have created 6 new cards !

  • 'Torch Lighter' - extra damage v buds
  • 'The Talisman' - supports Mystical class cards
  • 'White Widow' - extra damage vs possie with additional drop combos
  • 'Dragon Tattoo' - target own possie +1 ToKe, +1 Tolerance ~ single use
  • 'Guinae Pigs!' - this card just had to be made... [ON DROP] repeated clone
  • 'Double Jointed' - forgot I already rolled one... clone player joint on board














[h2]Other Card Changes / Balance[/h2]
According to player feedback, I have also modified the abilities / stats of some cards to improve deck building and play combos. Pet decks are more viable. I will be updating the AI to better take advantage of these new cards and changes ASAP!

  • 'Higher Love' - re-classified as MYSTICAL
  • 'Black Cat' - attack also STUNS
  • 'Soul Sacrifice' - also affects PET class
  • 'Indica and Sativa Clones' - balanced stats
  • 'Super Happy' - also affects PET class
  • 'Look Who's Back' - also resurrects PET class (new 'art' soon)
  • 'Relaxation' - also affects PET class
  • 'Skull Tattoo' - reworked to [TARGET OWN POSSIE] +1 attack +1 retaliation (removed swap toke/tolerance)
  • 'Psychic Moment' - the copied card is now shown in HISTORY...
  • 'The Destroyer' - balance 7 DM | 5 TK | 2 TL | 5 RT | 4 MV
  • 'Head Flaps' and 'Beanie Brain' have been reworked to single use target ability - making them great for early possie decks / quick support otherwise.




I will be continually improving and balancing out things according to feedback and already have quite a few new cards and abilities planned.

[h2]Fixes / Other[/h2]
There's always something to fix / improve!

  • End Game State - the game no longer tries to predict end game which caused issues with last card played if no cards in deck. It is now either Resign or 0 health to end game.
  • UI: Deck Builder filters updated (reset filters button / click text to toggle fix)
  • ANIMATION: reduced 'card blending / overlay / meshing together' issues
  • GRAVEYARD: missing top card issue fixed
  • 'Look Who's Back' - fix stuck after resurrection
  • 'Roach Clip' - drop loop fixed
  • 'Skate or Die' / 'Skateboard' - drop combos +1 Toke Power fixed
  • A few history row data fixes - more to come!
  • AI: deck tweaks and new cards added
  • AI: 'The Experiment' AI is now much more aggressive
  • AI: all have deck changes (more to come)


[h2]Current Focus[/h2]
Game UI and Tutorial. While the game is easy to pick up, feedback suggests that a quick 1st run tutorial would be welcomed.

[h2]PATCH NOTES[/h2]
- CARD FIX: 'Plant Food' should now add +1 to TOL and +1 to TOKE to all BUDS
- HISTORY FIX: 'Look Who's Back' resurrection history fixed (shows resurrected card)
- CARD FIX: 'The Retriever' possess ability should be fixed as well as history row
- UI: NEW SMOKING JOINT CURSOR (it had to be done)

NEW INFO:
LAN CONNECT: if players want to connect offline via LAN - both players must fully exit STEAM and launch the game directly from BudsLaboratory.exe in the game download folder. New UI notification uploading soon.

v0.18.837 - History UI/UX + Card / Ability Fixes



I have been smoothing out some of the issues with many of the more advanced abilities. The history logging system is also working as intended with much more game feedback than previous patches!

A little under 2 weeks before launch day! Expect more beta and Early Access patches over the coming days.

[h2]PATCH NOTES[/h2]
- UI/UX: Card ability description font has been changed due to legibility issue feedback
- CARD FIX: 'Dazed & Confused' - attacking card now treats owned card as a full enemy
- CARD FIX: 'Zen Master' - the icon issues have been resolved
- CARD REWORK: 'The Retriever' - now requires a blank space to pull opponent card into + remains on board! (if no space it will damage + stun opponent)



- ABILITY FIX: 'Possess' / 'Swap Owner' abilities fire correctly in PvP
- ABILITY FIX: 'Target Own' ability issues resolved (more testing todo!)
- HISTORY FOR PSYCHIC MOMENT: Checking history will show what card was copied - 'I know that you know that I know...'
- GRAVEYARD FIX: 'Instant Karma' correctly shows in the graveyard after ability use
- UI/UX: Main Menu single player button

SINGLE PLAYER / LAN NOTES:
Single player puts the game into Offline mode so you can play vs AI offline without a net connection. The HOST LAN checkbox option also puts the game into offline mode and allows for local LAN play.

v0.18.717 - Killer Zen Rattie Fix

Finally sorted! - I found the crossed wire and fixed the Mutation = Killer Skull on the Attack Icon. Basically if a card was mutated it would get the killer icon under certain circumstances.

Also fixed the Attack Icon showing the correct ABILITY - e.g. poison / stun of cards like 'Rattie' and 'Stunned 'Mullet'

The HISTORY system is getting a ton of work over this weekend as well - which should not affect anything I've just fixed... yes... it should not... :P

Expect daily frequent patching and updates on Steam Beta branch with full patch on Sunday morning EST :D

- HOTFIX: fixing the Server / Client replication broke some AI replication on local only game... sorted - but will need some more single player testing :D
