Testing for Esports Godfather Begins November 15

Coaches, thank you for your patience! This is Moto from Asteroid Studio!

We are set to begin the latest test for the Esports Godfather content update on November 15. As previously mentioned, due to the large amount of new content in this update, we will conduct a one-month test on the beta branch of the game before releasing it to the official version to ensure stability.

[h2]The content update will officially launch on November 15 and is expected to last for about a month, with the specific end date yet to be determined.[/h2]

Initially, we had planned to start testing at the beginning of the month, but our team members have been dealing with some unforeseen issues recently. Some had to return home for family events, like funerals and surgeries, while others are moving across provinces. As chaotic as it sounds, it’s true. That said, let's not dwell on these; what’s important now is the update details you’ve all been waiting for.

Here is what will be available in this test:

[h3] 1. Two New Heroes[/h3]



Dusky Feather - Raven

Hero Type: Assassin/Magic/Melee


- Raven has one feather in each direction, with some abilities and card effects consuming these feathers. When only two feathers remain, Raven will recover all consumed feathers.
- Each feather consumed grants Raven one stack of Abyss.


After moving due to a card effect, if an enemy hero is in an adjacent position, Raven will consume the feather in that direction and attack a random enemy hero in that position.


- Gains three stacks of Abyss upon entering combat.
- If Raven’s armor penetration exceeds the target’s armor, the attack will always crit.



Death Claw(5 Energy): Consumes a feather to initiate combat with the nearest enemy hero in that direction. Combat involves Raven and all heroes in the same position, lasting three rounds.


Rapid Descent (2 Energy): Consumes a feather and moves up to three squares in that direction.


Dark Flight (0 Energy): Moves one square. After use, this card returns to the far left of the hand and costs one additional energy. If Raven participates in a kill, the extra cost is removed.





Empire Marshal - Qin Hu

Hero Type: Support/Physical/Ranged


- Qin Hu begins with one Shield Guardian charge, with a max of one. When charged: upon entering combat, Qin Hu summons a Shield Guardian (regardless of Qin Hu’s involvement). Each Guardian death consumes a charge.


- At the start, selects an enemy and applies the “Tactical Target” debuff. If this unit dies, all allies gain “Pursuit.”
- During the decisive battle, a Shield Guardian can be summoned even without charge.


Melee summoned unit with 300 + 250% of Qin Hu’s attack in max HP, 100 armor, and 6 presence.


Reorganization (0 Energy): Gains one charge every 25 turns, max of two. Discards all cards in hand, then searches for one random hero card for each ally except Qin Hu, and searches for the “Offensive Command” and “Defender’s Shield” cards.


Homefront(6 Energy): Gains one Shield Guardian charge. Grants all allies a shield equal to 100% of Qin Hu’s attack power.


Attack Order(3 Energy): All allies attack one random enemy hero within one square. If no enemies are within one square, allies advance by one square instead.

[h3]2. New Card AI[/h3]

We have reworked the AI, refining its play strategies and optimizing the structure for better performance with complex calculations.

New AI features include:
- Complex combos for card play.
- Detailed combat scenario analysis—no more reckless tower dives!
- Improved efficiency, using fewer tactical points.
- Reduced card play lag.

[h3]3. Player Potential System[/h3]

With this new system, your players are no longer generic. From D- to S+, each player will now have distinct potential ratings across various attributes. Developing players requires a broader view beyond hero pools.

[h3]4. Player Transfer System[/h3]

Players now have career goals and salary expectations, and contracts require ongoing management, including monthly salaries and performance expectations. Be mindful of contract termination fees if you breach contracts—though you can always make a choice if your budget allows.

[h3]5. Stadium System[/h3]

You’ll need to earn more to meet player salary demands, so build your own stadium to attract fans. More revenue means better players, leading to more fans, bigger stadiums, and even more revenue…

[h3]6. Player Retirement[/h3]

Even the greatest players will retire one day, so it’s crucial to plan for the future of the club beyond individual players.

[h3]7. Scouting System
[/h3]
With the scouting system, you can find new stars. Based on your specifications, scouts will regularly introduce new prospects for your team.

[h3]8. Player Personalities and Emotions[/h3]

Players now have personalities and emotions. Wins boost their morale, while losses may affect it. As a coach, you’ll need to consider both performance and mental well-being.

Once the test is live, right-click on Esports Godfather in your Steam library > select “Properties” > choose the “beta” branch under the “Test” section.[/h2]

Happy Holidays! Here's the Latest Development Update for Esports Godfather!

Hello, coaches! This is Moto from Asteroid Studio!


Time flies! It's already October! After a well-deserved holiday break, the team at the studio is back to work. Today, I’d like to provide you with the latest update on the major progress of Esports Godfather's upcoming update and share the estimated testing schedule. (Quick note: testing is expected to begin between late October and early November.)


First, let’s talk about the most anticipated feature—AI gameplay logic. The major overhaul of the AI is now almost complete, and we’re currently conducting internal testing within the studio. So far, the new AI logic is performing well, and we believe it will meet your expectations for game difficulty.


Next, regarding the scouting system. The content for the scouting system is about 80% finished, and we are wrapping up the final details. We estimate it will take about another week to configure and then it’ll be ready for testing.


Additionally, key features like simulated battles, stadium construction, player contracts, and emotions have also been mostly completed. These are in the content refinement and testing preparation stages.


To summarize, most of the new content for this major update (including parts not mentioned here) is nearing completion. In short, we’re almost done! Once we finish the internal approval process, we’ll release the update to you as soon as possible. (For specific update content, click here.)


Due to the limited testing capacity of our studio, to ensure the best experience for all coaches in the final version, we’ll first release this update on the test branch after we complete internal testing. Once everything checks out in the test branch, we will synchronize it with the official release.

Apologies for the Update Delay!

Hello everyone, this is Moto from Asteroid Studio.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the scheduled update for Esports Godfather, originally planned for September, will not be released on time. The update has been delayed.

We initially planned to release this update before the National Day holiday, so you coaches could enjoy the new content during the break. However, 1000water, our dear (annoying!) brother, originally promised to develop three new systems, but somehow it turned into seven systems! Even after disciplining 1000water, we have to face the reality—there’s no way we can complete it this month.

On the other hand, since the launch of Esports Godfather, our studio team has been working tirelessly, and everyone is physically and mentally exhausted without any time off. One member even had to postpone his wedding. This time, the team really needs to take a break during the holiday. Therefore, we won’t be able to provide timely maintenance during the National Day holiday, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience!

That being said, once the holiday is over, we promise to return with renewed energy and push forward with the update development. Our first priority will be releasing a major overhaul of the AI decision-making system. Additionally, to ensure the best experience for you coaches in the official version, we will not directly update the official version of Esports Godfather. Instead, we’ll launch the relevant tests in the beta branch of the game first. *Given the large scope of this update, we anticipate a 1-2 month beta testing period.*

We deeply apologize for the delay and understand that this may disappoint many of you who have been eagerly waiting for the update. However, after the holiday, we will work diligently to bring the overhaul to you as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support.

V1.3.25 Update

Fixes:

- Fixed an issue where the card Resource Stealing had incorrect stacking effects when played by the same player with more than two copies.
- Fixed an issue where Hero Qube's status Suspect would not be removed after the battle if the hero was killed during the fight.
- Added a limitation to the daily training activity Read Book, making it impossible to achieve a great success.
- Fixed an issue where Hero Lady Deadfire's status Dark Flame had abnormal behavior on the battlefield.
- Fixed an issue where the card Monkey Do could be played without a valid target, causing the game to freeze.
- Fixed an issue where Hero Big Foot could still apply the status Frozen Stiff to enemies after dying in battle.
- Fixed an issue where Hero Kamaitachi could record two kills after using a passive ability to attack a low-health enemy hero about to enter battlefield.
- Fixed an issue where the impact range of certain training activities did not match their descriptions.
- Fixed the completion condition for the Quick Matchs in the month plan.
- Fixed an issue where the card Interrogation could not be played in the jungle area even when in the same grid.

The August Summary and Major Revisions Reveal for Esports Godfather

Hello everyone! This is Moto from Asteroid Studio.


Thank you for your continued support. The reason for the lack of updates recently is due to our ongoing content overhaul, which involves numerous changes to the current version. Our team is limited in size, so we have had to prioritize the overhaul content. We appreciate your understanding.


The specific release date for the overhaul is expected to be late September at the earliest. We plan to launch a beta public test, which will be followed by a full release after a period of testing. For the old version of the game, we will use Steam's functionality to allow players to switch to the current version through the beta testing option.


This overhaul is divided into two main parts: **Match Battles** and **Club Development**.


[h2]Match Battles:[/h2]


In the Match Battles section, we’ve developed a new card-playing AI.


Many coaches have mentioned that the existing AI doesn't provide enough of a challenge, so we've decided to redesign the AI from the ground up. We've deepened the AI's card-playing strategies and optimized the program to handle more complex calculations. After nearly two months of work, we've completed the AI design, rebuilt the framework, and are on track to finish all feature implementations by September.


In the new card-playing AI:


- AI players will use more complex strategy combinations when playing cards.
- AI players will perform more detailed analyses of expected battle scenarios, avoiding reckless moves like underestimating their opponents.
- AI players will play cards more economically, achieving goals with minimal tactical point consumption.
- The card-playing AI will experience reduced lag during card play.


[h2]Club Development:[/h2]


On the other hand, many coaches have expressed that the Club Development aspect lacks role-playing elements and that their involvement as a coach feels limited.So, we’ve added a lot of new gameplay elements to the club management section, including a new club event system, a player potential system, and a venue construction system, among others.For more details, please click here.
