Remnant 2 The Awakened King is Shakespearean Cluedo with guns

Wakey wakey, rise and shine, because the multiverse just got a little bit bigger. The Awakened King DLC is the first installment in a trilogy set to expand Remnant 2's three primary worlds of Losomn, Yaesha, and N'Erud. While N'Erud's biomechanical aesthetic has a special place in my heart, this one-shot adventure takes me back to Losomn to wrap up my favorite storyline. The One True King's conspicuous absence has served as the throughline of the sundered world, leaving a power vacuum filled by all manner of would-be successors that proclaim his death. In so many words, I am assured: "He's not dead, he's just sleeping."

Trivium's Matt Heafy on his "amazing" Remnant 2 collaboration

Matt Heafy of Trivium has teamed up with Remnant 2 and Gearbox Publishing to release not one but two tracks to complement the game's The Awakened King expansion, the first of which is Wielder of the Plague, which is available to stream now. I sat down for a chat with Matt about the writing process, his work with Trivium, and his future plans to compose for multiple new games and films.

Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC release date

When is the Remnant 2 DLC release date? The Awakened King is the first DLC to arrive in Remnant 2 since launch, taking us back to fan-favorite Losomn to tie up loose ends surrounding the divided world's conspicuously vacant royal seat. PCGamesN touched base with Gunfire Games principal level designer Cindy To and principal designer Ben Cureton for an early preview of The Awakened King DLC to learn more ahead of its release date.

Ritualist Archetype Reveal Trailer

When we announced the first DLC for REMNANT II, The Awakened King, we mentioned the DLC will bring a new Archetype, the Ritualist, and haven’t shared too many details since...

Well, the time has come for us to share the new trailer revealing the Archetype and everything it’ll have to offer when the new DLC launches on November 14th!

As a master of pain and suffering, the Ritualist is an excellent archetype to challenge The Awakened King. In REMNANT II: The Awakened King, the Ritualist leverages status effects to punish their foes.

Below’s a rundown of this unique and deadly Archetype’s abilities:

Their Prime Perk, “Vile”, makes enemies more susceptible to Status Damage and spreads their statues to nearby enemies upon death.

Using “Eruption”, the Ritualist detonates nearby enemies and adds insult to injury by dealing bonus damage to those already suffering from Status Effects.

To thin the herd, unleashing “Miasma” instantly applies Bleeding, Burning, Overloaded, and Corroded to all enemies within range.

Lastly, “Deathwish” curses the Ritualist themselves. It forgoes standard healing and causes constant health drain but grants a heavy damage buff and substantial lifesteal.
