Hi

This is a quick update to address an annoying error message. Also a minor improvement for anticheat protected games that will follow into next update.

UPDATES

• update: hide original game cursor in anticheat protected games.
  
• fix: now show overlay error message only upon user initiated hotkey. also moved this message to screen bottom. cliffs: its alot rarer and less annoying now :)

TODO NEXT

• improve support for anticheat protected games: support multiple bindings, support hiding cursors when game hides
  
• support replacing general windows cursors with goal of making YM universal (not game specific)
  
• make cursor overlay only over window where cursor is not whole desktop
  
• replace current hotkey system with single hotkey that shows popup menu with all the cursor options

Hi

One more maintenance update to fix+update a few things. Planning to make YM more universal in windows next patch + a few other things. This should be ready sooner than before as IRL interruptions wind down :)

UPDATES

• fix: not being able to disable "start with windows" option
  
• update: the overlay used by overlay cursors (CTRL ALT 2) is now ondemand and optional. meaning its only started upon first use of an overlay cursor, and if it fails YM will continue to work without overlay cursors.
  
• (steam) new: option to toggle running YM from steam. if disabling this, remember to shutdown YM first before updating YM in steam.

This is mostly a maintenance update to wrap a few loose ends. Following patches will be more feature focused.

A small launcher is added to improve launching YM on windows startup as well as to improve interoperability in steam.

Otherwise mostly minor updates and fixes including a few important ones for specific multimonitor/multiGPU setups.

UPDATES

• new: start yolomouse through a new launcher. this fixes several compatibility issues (steam version) and improves running ym at windows start (both versions).
  
• new: show/hide button for settings/about/activation code (regular version)
  
• fix: overlay errors seen in some multimonitor setups
  
• fix: crashing during display adapter updates or changes
  
• fix: center display messages on current monitor, instead of between all monitors.
  
• fix: cycling basic cursors no longer resets color back to blue
  
• update: improve checking if a game needs admin mode or overlay only mode (for anticheat protected games)

NOTE:
If you wish to run YM outside steam:

1. shutdown YoloMouse
   
2. run either YoloLauncher.exe -o directly (found in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\YoloMouse)
   
3. ...OR in steam: YoloMouse -> gear icon -> properties -> set launch options -> add -o then hit launch button.
   
4. ensure "Start with Windows" option is on (task bar/pink icon/options)

Now YM will start on its own instead of through steam. Starting through Steam at any time without -o option will undo this. Note that eventually Steam version of YM will require Steam for certain features such as Steam Workshop.

Huge sorry for the delay on this update. Especially @ the multimonitor folks where YM needed the most fixing. YM was given a major rework which addresses these and many other issues.

IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS UPGRADING

• Manually stop YM (go to YM taskbar icon/exit). Then allow steam to upgrade.
  
• In case of problems go to taskbar icon/settings/options, uncheck start with windows, restart PC, then let steam update.
  
• Above should only be necessary if YM is running as admin, which steam doesnt like. Will make this seamless in the future :)

UPDATES

• new: "run as admin" can now be persisted upon windows boot (edit in settings/options)
  
• update: move taskbar popup choices to gui and just show gui directly. this fixes a bug that causes YM to freeze.
  
• improve: multimonitor support
  
• remove: hiding original cursor in anticheat protected games. this is temporary until this feature is improved for stability.
  
• fix: major rework. fixes several major issues people reported... thx again for the reports :D
  
• fix: nasty memory leak seen by multimonitor folks
  
• fix: reduce memory usage by disabling depth buffer
  
• fix: inconsistent behavior when hiding cursors in some games like daoc, gw2, and ffxiv.
  
• fix: prevent potential upgrade/uninstall/restart problems by using temporary versions of injected dlls. cleaned on YM boot.
  
• fix: cycling overlay cursor colors
  
• fix: defaulting cursors (CTRL ALT 0) not saving
  
• fix: normalize size of arrow and particle overlay cursors
  
• fix: code signing problem (thx@ cr032)

Hi Everyone

After 6 years YoloMouse is out of beta. It's awesome how much YM has helped folks: From those finding game cursor visibility a nuisance to those with disabilities who simply couldn't play that game before. This is motivation enough to keep updating YM :)

This release introduces the following features:

• Code signed to allow trust and whitelisting by AntiCheat and AntiVirus vendors
  
• New 3D/overlay cursors including a flaming arrow using fluid dynamics simulation and a particle arrow affected by atmospheric physics.
  
• Multiple monitor support
  
• A GUI so you don't have to fiddle with .ini files
  
• Bunch of fixes and optimizations
