Development Branch update - v1.508

Hello Terraformers!

We've just updated a new version (v1.508) on the development branch.
To try it, see the "How to switch branches?" question in the FAQ.

This version fixes some bugs

Let us know if you experience significant performances changes or new critical bugs.

As usual, restart Steam to get the update, and backup your save before trying the dev branch.
All players must have the same version to play co-op.
If you have issues launching the game, remove all your mods before reporting bugs.


Temporary changelog :

  • Fixed issue with moss from the source planet applied to the destination planet
  • Teleporters now only list the current planet destinations
  • Set correct rocket to the travel screen checklist
  • SystemView screen : reset position when opening the menu again
  • Fixed an issue preventing planet switching after destroying an OreExtractor
  • Fixed an issue with saves colors serialization
  • Fixed growing speed for all growers
  • Fixed issue with ore veins from all planets displayed on the map UI
  • Fixed issue with some quartz not available in logistics
  • Various balancing

Unveilling our next massive free update!

Hello terraformers!

[h2]The "Moons Update" is coming up in a few weeks![/h2]


We were thrilled by the support you showed us when we released Humble DLC. Seeing all the love for our game, we decided we were going to continue support Planet Crafter for a long time.

We'll continue updating the game and making it better, expanding the fantasy of discovering interesting things in space, building amazing bases, setting up automation systems to finally terraform entire planets.


So, we worked hard to bring it to the next level with our next free update : "The Moons Update".



This update will allow you to go to two new moons, once you've finished terraforming your first planet. Once on a new moon, you'll be able to terraform it, while keeping all your blueprints, knowledge and equipment. You'll be able to exchange resources between those planets and even automating everything.


We can't tell you everything yet, but here's a teaser :

Development Branch update - v1.507

Hello Terraformers!

We've just updated a new version (v1.507) on the development branch.
To try it, see the "How to switch branches?" question in the FAQ.


We will soon announce our next free update: the "Moons" update.

This update will allows you to go to another planet once you finished terraforming a planet. Once on a new planet, you'll be able to terraform it, while keeping all your blueprints, knowledge and equipment. You'll even be able to exchange resources between those planets and set automation between planets.

We worked really hard to offer you something new and exciting.
As usual, we are giving you access to an unstable and unfinished version on the dev branch. More than ever, be sure to duplicate your save files before trying it.


We will divide this playtest into multiple Steps as we need a bit more time to finish the full update :

STEP ONE : Try the new mechanics, but only with Humble. So you can only try it if you have purchased the Humble DLC AND you need to unlock the travel rocket (after end game) on Prime or Humble.

STEP TWO : Try the new mechanics, on a new free planet. The DLC won't be required from there. This will happen in a few days / weeks.

STEP THREE : We'll reveal it later :)


Let us know if you manage to go to another planet, exchange resources, and unlock cool new stuff!

Temporary changelog :

New gameplay mechanic
Once you finished terraforming a planet, you'll be able to build an Interplanetary travel rocket that will allow you to go on another planet. You'll keep your inventory, equipement & known blueprints, but you'll need to build another travel rocket to come back. There is new machines to unlock based on a new System Terraformation Index. You'll be able to trade resources from one planet to the other.

Major changes
  • You can now build different rockets on the departure platform.
  • Some objects (mostly objects that grows things, like farms, animals farms, beehives, food growers, etc...) will now have logistics disabled for their seeds inventory. This should not change anything, as most of the time you don't want to change the seeds via logistics. Vegetables will continue to be pickable by drones.
  • Humble : the departure platform will now be unlocked automaticly when the planet is terraformed. You still can find the recipe in the world.

Quality Of Life patch

Hello terraformers!

[h2]We uploaded a new quality of life patch for Planet Crafter[/h2]

We took some time to iron some things out, answering your feedbacks as usual, just before we started working on our next big update.

Indeed, we have big things in store for all the terraformers out there! We are working hard on the next piece of content for the game, and can't wait to show it to you.

As this will be a big update, we'll take a bit more time than usual to cook it, but we aim to give you more information soon. In the meantime, be sure to join our Discord server and follow us on all platforms!

Changelog v1.410:

Gameplay
  • Improved vehicle physics, acceleration and steering
  • Vehicle now automatically discard collisions with small rocks
  • Added the ability to open the inventory from the rover
  • Logistic menu : Added the ability to remove a group by right-clicking
  • Tweaked jetpack physics
  • Added the name of containers in auto-crafters tooltips
  • Display the container name inside the container UI
  • Added an option to disable player idle animations (tool wiping)

  • Improved physicalized objects management to try to avoid situations with objects stopping while mid air
Balancing
  • Drone station, Fusion energy cell, osmium rod, genetic extractor and water life collector unlocks sooner
  • Skin displayer unlocks at a later chip unlocking tier
  • Added Access Cards to rare loot of procedural wrecks to have chance to get some spare ones
  • Added a bit more food in world containers on Humble
  • Added a beta notification to the HUD when launching the game from Steam on a non default branch
  • Reduced radius of iridium & uranium asteroids landing around the player
  • Last terraformation stage ending is now at 4 TTI
  • Increased larvae spawn time to have a bit more larvae around player
Misc.
  • Added a "back to base" button to the game settings menu allowing to respawn inside a livable module
  • Added a saving indicator to the UI
  • Added audio on vault door opening in procedural wrecks
  • Trade rockets now despawn after some time if stuck on ground
  • Fixed an issue with the construction ghost rotation not properly reset when building something with the accessibility key pressed and then opening the construction menu while the ghost is still active
  • Fixed an issue displaying the power restored notification each time something is built when using optimizers
  • Increased the number of allowed simultaneous sounds to fix issues with sounds being discarded
  • Various minor environment fixes on Prime
  • Minor terra tokens loot balancing in wreck safes
  • Fixed issues with drones not computing correctly their height
  • Aquarium T2 correctly set as next tier to aquarium T1
  • Portal generator : increased volume on open & close effect.
  • Add sound and FX on vehicle recall
