The Moons Update release date announcement!

Hello terraformers!

[h2]The "Moons Update" will be released on May 19th![/h2]

We are almost ready to share with you our biggest update to date! The "Moons Update" is aimed at players that want more of the Planet Crafter experience.


This update will allow you to go to two new moons, once you've finished terraforming your first planet. Once on a new moon, you'll be able to terraform it, while keeping all your blueprints, knowledge and equipment. You'll be able to exchange resources between those planets and even automating everything.


Unlock new technologies, expand your operations, discover new moons, and terraform a whole solar system!

[h3]Frequently Asked Questions[/h3]
  • Is this update going to be free?
    Yes!

  • Do I need to start a new game to play it?
    No, you can continue with your save file and unlock the rocket to travel between planets once you have finished terraforming a planet.

  • Can I go from Prime, to Humble, to the moons?
    Yes! If you have the Humble DLC, you'll be able to travel between all those planets & moons!

  • Can I go to the moons from the Humble DLC?
    Yes! If you started your adventure on planet Humble, you will unlock the travel rocket once you terraformed Humble too.

  • If I play in co-op, can I be on one planet and my friend on another?
    No, all players will play on the same planet or moon at the same time.

  • If I'm on a moon, does my terraforming process continue on other planets?
    Yes, all terraforming, drones, ore extraction, autocrafting, etc. continues while you travel from planets to planets.

  • If I started a playthrough on Prime, and another one on Humble, will I be able to merge my save files?
    No, unfortunately, you won't be able to merge save files. So you'll have to choose from which one to start again.

Development Branch update - v1.514

Hello Terraformers!

We've just updated a new version (v1.514) on the development branch.
To try it, see the "How to switch branches?" question in the FAQ.

This is a STEP THREE of the moons update playtest : You can now go on the second moon : Aqualis! Use the travel rocket to go there, in the same way you did for Selenea.

Let us know if you experience significant performances changes or new critical bugs.

As usual, restart Steam to get the update, and backup your save before trying the dev branch.
All players must have the same version to play co-op.
If you have issues launching the game, remove all your mods before reporting bugs.


Temporary changelog :
  • New Moon : Aqualis. Discover a moon covered in water!
  • New items : T5 Jetpack, T3 Butterly farm, T2 Insects rocket
  • New "Harvesting robot" : allows to harvest organic items around it (still work in progress)
  • New T2 Informations rocket : will show organic and fish location markers on map (unlock via blue blueprint chip)
  • Fixed an issue with oxygen still consumed when reaching breathable atmospheres on moons
  • Exchange platform now takes 10 minutes to return
  • Various UI improvements
  • Various balancing

Hello Terraformers!

We've just updated a new version (v1.513) on the development branch.
To try it, see the "How to switch branches?" question in the FAQ.

This version fixes some bugs.

Let us know if you experience significant performances changes or new critical bugs.

  • Fixed issue with trade rockets not working anymore.
  • Megadome can now be deconstructed even if containing things.
  • Fixed an issue with energy update on clients making screens to stay black.
  • Fixed issues with the new rockets to have them displayed in the rocket information screen and also properly displayed for clients.

Development Branch update - v1.512

Hello Terraformers!

We've just updated a new version (v1.512) on the development branch.

This version improve existing content, adds a bit more and fixe some bugs.

Temporary changelog :

Major
  • Improve terraformating visual changes on Selenea. Small changes on terraformating levels.
  • Rocket reactor t2 is now craftable when correct Systi level is reached
  • New T2 Rockets for heat and pressure
  • Add a new fish, a new frog and a new tree seed on Selenea. Find them by exploring the world or in specific containers. Containers containing them have been reseted so you can loot them again if you have already.
  • Recycler T2 now correctly takes 45s to recycle an item.
  • Fuse cartridge & Insects fuse can now be crafted in quartz craft station
  • Removed the ability to trade items from different planets with trade rockets. With the new ability to change planets, this is not usefull anymore.
Misc.
  • Tree spreader spawn a bit less trees
  • Fixed issue with emotes sending the player to the center of the map.
  • Added a build constraint for planet specific constructibles (Only for portals generator for now)
  • Added identifier and destination on planetary exchange shuttles.
  • Enabled back display of utility rockets on the rocket screen if not on the starting planet.
  • Minables won't collide anymore with water.
  • Fixed an issue with the system view not always updating properly.
  • Interplanetary shuttle should not stay in the sky anymore
  • Fixed an issue with algaes not growing depending on the position of the generator.
  • Growth fuse now properly applied to all growers.
  • Fixed an issue with autocrafters from other planets not starting properly when starting the game.
  • Fixed an issue with drones potentially moving from one planet to another.
  • Fixed an issue with wrecks objects still consuming electricity from the player base.
  • Various balancing changes (objects, loots, constructibles, terraforming stages).
  • Various UI improvements.
  • Various environment fixes and improvements.

Temporary changelog :
  • Travel rocket recipe now require 2 energy cells & one energy fuse in addition to the old recipe. We did this to increase the cost of going back and forth between moon, to preserve the sense of adventure and to increase the value of exchange shuttles.
  • It's no longer possible to create portals on moons.
  • Fuse trade rocket can now be crafted in quartz crafter.
  • Cosmic quartz unlocks a bit later.
  • Recycler T2 won't destroy an object anymore if not enough space to retrieve all the recipe in the destination inventory.
  • Fixed issues with post-processing not being properly reset when switching planets.
  • Fixed issue with planetary depot not displayed for clients.
  • Solar system screen now properly display planets depending on their terraforming level.
  • Fixed various issues with the elevator system.
  • Improved map markers system to try to avoid getting markers from multiple planets on the same map.
  • Improved the interplanetary trade rockets to try to avoid getting them stuck in the air and not landing.
  • Various fixes and tweaks to Selenea, added back ice resources on it.
  • Improved the feedback system to send all the log files, the current save and a screenshot.
