Hotfix 0.07.38.08

Hi everyone

We have a quick hotfix addressing one specific issue reported by our players.

 • Fights against Blackrock bandits in the mountains went unresolved after all units died, leaving the player stuck at the board. We have fixed an issue with their jumping around, so they should stay on the board now.
 • We temporarily removed an encounter where you had to protect the local farmers, but the player units instead began to attack them. We will try to educate the Heroes not to attack civilians and bring the encounter back when it's safe.

Other reported issues that we are aware of but have still been unable to fix entirely.

 • A few had the game crash on launch, possibly due to a previous Successor save game creating a conflict. This can be solved by deleting the saveGames folder - "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Successor\Saved\SaveGames"
 • One user experienced getting stuck after pressing continue, leading to a scenario synopsis with a continue button at the bottom - this could be the same issue with a previous save game.

We also had some feedback on the general gameplay. Thanks a lot for that :)

Please do not hesitate to report bugs or issues, give us feedback in the community section, or head to our discord channel.

Best regards

Successor is Now in Early Access!

Hi Everyone

The day has finally arrived. Successor has officially entered Early Access, and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

We've been working tirelessly over the past months to get everything ready. While there are still a few rough edges to smooth out, we're committed to addressing issues quickly and shaping the game's future based on our community's feedback and experiences.

The world of Successor is vast and ambitious. Our early access approach is to roll out the planned experience in stages. This lets us make meaningful improvements and gameplay refinements as we expand the content with the community.
Early Access content and what's planned.
Today's launch introduces our first two Lords, Lord Craig and Lady Gwenn, who rise to battle the growing corruption in the realm through a handful of handcrafted story campaigns where you will meet the Greyrose Faction, the Dregg, Blackrock Bandits, and the infamous Bloodfang sisters.

It also has an early version of Adventure Mode, where you can generate custom campaigns, explore the universe, and complete challenges to unlock equipment for future adventures.

Our first major update is already on the horizon: The Plague of Bones Campaign will introduce the Grim Legion faction and the brand-new World Event Cards system to spice up your conquest.

Until then, we hope you enjoy diving into Successor, and we can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Best regards

Update 21

Hi everyone!

We hope you're as excited as we are for Successor's Early Access launch on May 29! After years of development, we can't wait for you to finally get your hands on the game and help us shape the final details, refine features, polish corners, and bring everything together for the full release.

Today, we're rolling out a significant update to the build, here is a few highlights.

Patch Notes 0.07.38.02
New Pickups on the Battle Boards
Treasure chests have started appearing across the battle boards, rewarding you with resources to upgrade your abilities, so keep an eye out, but be careful. It can be risky.
We've also added some handy new pickups:
 • Spirit Barrier – Restores endurance, perfect for those longer fights.
 • Wheel of Cheese – Instantly heals 80 HP.
 • Deadcap Mushroom – Grants 10 HP, poison immunity, and a brief Berserker buff.
 • Bear Trap – A returning classic from Wartile! Traps enemies and deals a bit of damage.
Challenge System Expanded
We've introduced a whole new set of challenges! Completing them can unlock New items for your reward pool or additional options for creating unique region and kingdom setups in Adventure Mode.
Adventure Mode Gets Deeper
Adventure Mode allows you to generate your region or kingdom, select an unlocked Faction, and apply Kickers to modify the game rules during your run.
What's a Kicker, you might ask?
A Kicker is a game modifier that changes the rules of your campaign, usually making things harder or, at the very least, different.

Kickers will challenge your strategy and force you to adapt to new conditions and unexpected events, and often unlock a powerful item for your reward pool that you'll be grateful to have in your future runs.

Here are a few examples:
 • Brambles – Thorny vines grow across the battlefield, slowing and poisoning anyone who steps through them.
 • Rigor Mortis – Random graves appear on the field. Disturb them at your own risk.
 • Dead Moon – All Unholy faction units gain +1 damage during nighttime.

In your first Adventure mode run, you can face the Blackrock Bandits a once a proud house, renowned throughout the Kingdoms until a failed coup shattered their standing and forced them into hiding in the treacherous Black Mountains.

Now scattered but bound by the cruel leadership of Rowan Blackrock, they prey on unsuspecting travelers and trade caravans, striking swiftly and vanishing without a trace.

There is a lot more, but lets save some ammunition to our next update coming soon. Until then thank you for supporting Successor and have a wonderful weekend.

Free Demo & Kickstarter

Hi Everyone

Today, we're excited to share a major update on the development of Successor.

Thanks to months of dedicated playtesting, we've received invaluable feedback that has helped us improve the game in many areas. But as we stand at a crossroads between moving directly into Early Access or buying a bit more time to polish gameplay, UI, and systems, we've decided to take a different path.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Successor now on Kickstarter
We're launching a Kickstarter campaign and invite you to join us in the final steps of development. Kickstarter gives us a rare opportunity to connect directly with players and refine the features that matter most, while also expanding and improving areas that add real value to the experience. This could also have been possible during Early Access, but we believe some features, a bit of balancing, and lots of polishing would greatly benefit the overall experience. With a few small steps (soft launches), closely with our players, we can carefully combine the remaining pieces into something special, truly lasting, and special with your support.

Now's a perfect time if you've considered entering the Successor universe. Our Kickstarter offers some great Early Bird pledge tiers, some of which grant exclusive Beta testing access starting right after the campaign and leading up to Early Access.

👉 Take me to Kickstarter – Explore the campaign, play the Demo, and consider supporting us to help bring this world to life.

And there's more: ‘we have just released our public Demo: Lord of Bones!
It features the tutorial campaign Betrayal, plus the exclusive campaign Lord of Bones, which is only available in the demo. You'll be able to experience the game firsthand and see what makes Successor such a unique blend of tactical depth and miniature fantasy.

Thanks a lot for being part of this journey
