Enjoy the beauty of chaos - erI mean, Kairos![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][h3]Get Your Break Free Pack![/h3][p]Already we've seen so much amazing looter shooter action from the community! Clearly you've all embraced the spirit of breaking free from the oppressive Timekeeper - but we want to see just how unstoppable you Vault Hunters truly are.[/p][p]From September 12 to 14, we'll be behind the scenes monitoring the unbridled carnage you're unleashing on Kairos. If Borderlands 4 players across all platforms can gather their friends and collectively cause enough Mayhem, we'll serve up a SHiFT code for the Break Free Pack, containing 1 Vault Hunter Skin usable by Vex, Rafa, Amon, and Harlowe, and 1 Legendary Ripper Shield, scales to your Vault Hunter level when redeemed (with a minimum of Lvl 25).[/p][p]Time starts now, so get out there and chip in along with the rest of the Borderlands 4 community![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Behind the Team: Anthony Nicholson, Borderlands 4 Senior Project Producer[/h3][p]Every week, we’re spotlighting one of the minds behind the mayhem. You’ll get to learn about folks from both Gearbox and 2K, and how each person who touches the game both influences and is influenced by Borderlands 4. This week, we're talking with Anthony Nicholson, Gearbox’s Senior Project Producer:[/p][p][/p][p]What’s something fans might not realize producers do behind the scenes?[/p][p]I think people may not realize how versatile producers are. The main objective is to stay on time, on budget, and keep the content creation flowing smoothly, but I have several producers on my team that are more than that. Be it importing art assets, creating VFX, debugging code, writing side missions, or creating test maps and analyzing bugs, producers are a versatile bunch with a holistic view of the product. Personally through my time here, I have designed characters and a boss fight, put on the suit for mocap acting, and, near the end of the projects, help in directing trailers and demos for the public to get excited about, to name a few. A good producer uses their passion to influence and motivate their department and their game in many big ways.[/p][p][/p][p]Can you talk about how community feedback makes its way into your team’s workflow?[/p][p]Whether it is feedback we have seen from a previous title or, for folks like myself, engaging with the community socially, we care about their thoughts and feedback because we build everything with a “player first” mentality. It is important that we are delivering on what we feel is best for the player by listening to the player, so though we may not act on every single suggestion, we weigh it and put great thought into the solution to create an experience that they will appreciate and love.[/p][p][/p][p]Outside of work, what’s a hobby or passion that helps you recharge?[/p][p]I really love cooking, coaching, and of course playing games! I think each of my hobbies taps into my core being of wanting to create, so with anything that lets me explore new ideas or make something new, I'm always excited to jump into and see what I can come up with.[/p][p]
[/p][h3]Community Creative Corner[/h3][p]Our community members aren’t just gamers—many of you are also artists. Whether it’s cosplay, digital art, or some yet-to-be-invented medium, we’re your biggest fans. Check out this week’s hand-picked fan creations:[/p][p]First, Borderlands fan and musician Anthony Garone sits down with Borderlands 4 composer Joshua Carro to talk about the making of the soundtrack. This is definitely worth a watch. [/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]On this special Launch Day issue, we’d like to celebrate the heroic Vault Hunters both in the Borderlands universe and among our community. We can’t wait to see all of the incredible fan art that comes out in the future, and we’re going to start by showcasing some past works of the characters you’ve loved so far:[/p][p][/p][p]Suchscary[/p][p][/p][p]Pirek[/p][p][/p][p]Jugumpuppet[/p][p][/p][p]Souls_699[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That’s it for this week—more updates, more chaos, and maybe a few surprises coming next Friday. Until then: keep your ECHOnet tuned and your loot luck high.[/p][p]Happy Hunting,
