NEW BH2020 SURVIVAL TOURNAMENT (STARTS JULY 4TH 2021)

We are happy to announce that survival competitions resume in July and will become a regular feature! Newly powered by our own game server, we can now run multiple competitions without erasing the existing high scores of players on Steam.

BH UNIVERSAL LEADERBOARD. The new BH database will be universal across platforms so that everyone can play in the same game or tournament! Scores will be recorded and displayed for everyone to see, AND you will be able to convert your score points into BHC (game credits) later on.
AND WHY SHOULD YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SCORE ACCOMPLISHMENTS?
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOU? Because your score is money! Starting in Q4 2021, you will be able to convert your score points into BHC credits (your BH in-game-world currency). With BHC, you can buy assets to use in the BH game-world to simply enjoy, or better your chances of success. You can also sell them back into the BH Marketplace in exchange for more BHC credits (to buy other things that you like in the game).
START EARNING NOW
Yes! Starting in July (4th) 2021, scores from all BH2020 game versions (past and present, arcade and survival competitions) will be tallied together in our new database, AND IF YOU REGISTER into your very own BH Wallet! Once you have a wallet, you'll be able to convert your score points into BHC credits. So what are you waiting for? You can start earning now!
COMPETITION CATEGORIES
ALL Competitions reset at the end of each calendar month. Player’s scores return to zero in each category, however, players stay in the category they qualified for. Once you have qualified for a category, you remain in it, unless your score drops below that category’s range. There are 4 levels of competition:
  • Beginners Competition.
  • Veterans Competition.
  • Aces Competition.
  • DeathMatch Competition.
BEGINNERS. Every player starts the game in the beginner’s category. The top X players of the month/week will go to the Veteran’s Competition. This is a starting competition, so players can't drop down in rank by failing to score above the average.

VETERANS. Top players in the Beginner’s Competitions from the previous month will qualify for the Veteran’s Competition. The top X players of the month/week will go to the Aces Competition. Players that do not qualify for the following Aces Competition will remain in the Veteran’s category to try again in the next competition. Players who score below average will go back to the Beginners Competition.

ACES. Top players in Veterans Competitions from the previous month will be in the Ace Competition. Ace players that do not qualify for the following DeathMatch Competition will remain in the category to try again in the next competition. The top X players of the month will be allowed to go into the DeathMatch Competition. Players who score below average there will go back to the Veterans Competition.

DEATHMATCH. Players will challenge each other in a one-on-one match (score vs score). The winner gets ALL the score points, including those of the losing player. The losing player will start over in the Beginner’s Competition.
NEW RULES
SURVIVAL MODE means that you play non-stop until you die (game over). It's ALL OR NOTHING and it has to be all on the same game save. Your top score gets recorded along with the waves you survived and the time used. Your total score along with your name and profile photo will show on the BH (and Steam) LeaderBoard and in your profile score tab. SURVIVAL is a "valor-skill-challenge" that will allow you to jumpstart and make your mark in the world of BeachHead. This is the first step in the evolution of the game and the start of the game economy.
  • TIMELINE. The timeline is open, players can enter anytime by clicking on the "survival" button and start playing. Every month (at the end of the month) we will tally up the best players' scores.
There are no restrictions, you can play and try to beat your top score as many times as you want. Your highest score is recorded and so you will not be set back if you had a bad run.

  • WHO WINS?: Top ten players will show up on the scoreboard at the calendar end date of every month in every category.

  • HOW TO WIN: The more you play, the better you will get, and the longer you will survive. Practice and hone your skills first, and then focus on playing your best game.

  • WHAT YOU WIN: Your score will earn you a rank with corresponding medals and decorations that grant you certain in-game privileges. The higher the scores, the higher the rank and prestige of the medal. If you die a lot that's okay, you'll receive a Purple Heart Medal regardless to honor your service.
REQUIREMENTS
• An active profile, email verification, and proof of legal purchase are required.
Anyone can participate, but only legal owners will be able to benefit from rewards and collect their prizes (proof of purchase required).
ADDITIONAL PRICES & REWARDS
RANK: Rank is of extreme importance in Beachhead because it allows exclusive access to weapons and features others cannot access. Rank determines your status and prestige in the game. Rank will be assigned on the score tally relative to all others, but the minimal score under each category will be based on your highest score of all time (total score).
MEDALS: HEROS are recognized and rewarded with medals in BeachHead. If you become a HERO in the game it is very significant because people will look up to you and your accomplishments. If you have a good reputation, it will follow you all the way to the full version of the game!
BADGES: Badges give you STATUS and assign you to a class. At the base level, everyone begins as a Citizen, after that comes Soldier, and Defender. Not everyone has to be a soldier, but everyone between the ages of 13 and 45 has to serve in the Defense Force (BDF), or in some defense capacity supporting the fighting force. Everyone is welcome to join the fight if they choose to - unless there's a disaster and everyone has to fight.

BHC CREDITS: 10,000 BHC will be rewarded to each competition's TOP-TEN WINNER and 1,000 BHC each to the rest of the top ten contenders. BHC is the in-game currency that allows you to buy in-game objects, weapons, and accessories. For the time being, the BeachHead economy is focused on game items that relate to combat. However, BHC is not only the in-game currency but the currency of the entire BeachHead universe. Once BH CITY opens, players will be able to use their money to buy property and "civilian" lifestyle items.
BH MERCHANDISE
BH MERCH: In addition to the top survival scores awarded above (once a month), BH Merch items will be awarded (raffle) among the winners. BeachHead front wear is high-quality and designed to fit well. You can buy them later, but why not take the chance to earn them now?

BH2020 SURVIVAL COMPETITION
Andrew, aka MR. REAPER is the undisputed winner of the First (February) "SURVIVAL" Competition with no less than a 773,820 point score and almost twice ahead of the runner-up. May your valor be recognized through the ages, or until someone else beats your score
From the Developer: Congratulations, Andrew, you are the best (literally). Great accomplishment, really, given that Andrew lost his score a couple of times due to a software malfunction.
EARNED REWARDS & PRICES
Rank:
SEARGENT FIRST CLASS
Medal:
BRONCE MEDAL

RULE ADJUSTMENTS
Given what we have learned from the first contest, we realized that we need a leaderboard database outside of Steam to run the contest properly. The Steam leaderboard is not flexible enough to reset the contest without wiping out the scores, and we don't want to do that. WE ARE NOW WRITING THE CODE TO DO JUST THAT, AND WE'LL BE MAKING A NEW CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT AHEAD OF TIME, MOST LIKELY IN APRIL.

UPDATE [1.1.1] Improved VR support

Hello soldiers!

After we've heard that some users were not being able to play the game at all on VR we decided to make a smaller but significant patch to fix those issues that some of you had. We are very grateful to everybody that helped us by giving more details about their issues and we hope that you enjoy the newly added Oculus Quest support.

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Added official support for Oculus Quest (and 2) using Oculus Link
  • Added official support for Oculus Quest (and 2) using Virtual Desktop
  • Fixed VR controllers not working for some users
  • Added official support for Valve Index

Known Issues:

  • When playing through Virtual Desktop it is always using the HTC Vive control scheme

BH2020 SURVIVAL COMPETITION

This is a "valor-skill" challenge that will allow you to jumpstart and make your mark in the world of BeachHead. Not just fun and games, but a true challenge of your skills and endurance. Everything from here onward is going to be connected -and consequential- in the full version of the game. This is the first step in the evolution of the game. Users can wait for the full version (late spring) or get started now and get ahead. Getting in now you pay less than half while helping us with the development. Obviously, we encourage you to participate now and help us out, but make no mistake you're not missing a beat and you'll be playing the game at full tilt.
