IT'S OUT!!! My new dev log on the 'Music Lover' feature!! 🙂

Hello Neyyah adventurers!

I am very excited to showcase some of Neyyah's optional feature: 'Music Lover'. By default, this is disabled within the game, and music will only play at certain default areas of the game, while ambient sound will fill out elsewhere.

However, I do understand some gamers LOVE music within games. I have also played some similar games to Neyyah where music is more continuous throughout - even though you can always turn down volumes / mute music if you want to.

As a way to provide more music in Neyyah, I have created an optional feature within the game called 'Music Lover'.

This will start playing music in areas where usually there isn't any music, only sound. The Music Lover music consists of elements from other soundtracks composed for every environment, so it won't sound out of place; it's in keeping with the style and feel / atmosphere of the environments within the game, and from a developer's perspective, doesn't take too much time to create, as I am essentially remixing other pieces of music, and making it unique for this feature.

The Music Lover tracks add a very different atmosphere and feel to the gameplay, strengthening a replay factor for Neyyah, and also revealing HIDDEN gems within the game!

I would love to release these 'Music Lover' tracks on the Neyyah OST too!

I am currently busy with environment design, while working in Visionaire to implement new areas of the game ... I want to keep a lot of this work under wraps for now, but may find an area to create an interesting dev log somewhere! 🙂

Hey Neyyah adventurers!

I was thrilled to finally have these gorgeous pieces of artwork arrive in the mail the other day ...



So, a few moons (or portal journeys) back, I was approached by a fan of my upcoming 1st person point n click adventure game, Neyyah ... He wanted to do some artwork based on the game! I was quite shocked, yet really excited! Of course, I said yes! This is the end result!



Nick Meier is a fantastic artist, and it's been wonderful watching his journey in developing this gorgeous Neyyah painting - and also seeing what else he has created, and learning a couple of tips in the painting world from him, too, which I'm looking at putting into use at Plein Air Down Under in Mandurah later this month!



Here is the original scene from the game, which I created in Blender and edited in Adobe Photoshop, developing the entire scene back in 2020!



It's one of those many moments where I look back in awe and amazement at how far this game has come, and the effects it's already had on people, even before it's released! I've met some amazing individuals along the way through building this beautiful Neyyah world, and Nick is definitely one of them.
