MY game development journey in making a trailer for Harvest Island

I never realized how valuable and important making a trailer could be, so I made a video about my journey in making this awesome trailer that revealed my release date. It took me 4 weeks to make this and it involved a lot of planning.

As for the game development progress. Only 4 months left before the release and I feel the pressure in getting everything done.

Some of the work I have to do:
Writing 30+ minutes of more music.
Programing the ending (only 10 minutes of gameplay left)
Designing more art for end game things
Grammar fixes throughout the entire game/improve dialogue.
Translations for multiple languages
Addition of Trophies/ icon images that go along with trophies
Bug testing/balancing

The list isn't too bad but the amount of work is insane. Just for the grammar fixes and translation, that can already take me like 2-4 weeks to finish.

And pretty much that's it! The release is soon to come!

3 Years of Marketing Harvest Island

New Trailer and A Release Date!

Happy New Year! Harvest Island New Trailer is here! And the release date is just around the corner. There are so many new mysteries in this trailer it's almost like a different game! Haha, it's just a twist in the farming genre.

I'm happy to announce that the game's release date is April 14th, 2023. There's just a handful of work left to be done and I think it's the right time to reveal the date.

A new Trailer with a release date!

2023 is approaching and I'm happy to say that Harvest Island's new trailer is coming out on Jan 1st! What a great way to start the new year! This is exciting news because I'll have a confirm date for Harvest Island!!!!

Once the trailer comes out, you'll be super surprised and shocked! And also super excited to play the full game!

It's been almost 3 years since I worked on Harvest Island and I have to say, this has been a long journey I can't wait for it to end. There isn't that much work in finishing Harvest Island. All I have to do is finish programming the ending which is roughly about 20min of gameplay, make a lot of music with a together total music of 1 hour, and play test the game for bugs/balancing/polishing. Plus ironing out the lore of the game. Not that much.

There's going to be a lot more character portraits in the game! Here's a screenshot of what you can expect in the trailer! Exciting, isn't it?

Be sure to follow me on youtube because I'll be posting the trailer there! But just incase, I'll make another announcement of the release trailer!

I look forward to your reactions!!!!

What's plan B if Harvest Island doesn't work out?

Hey guys,

Wanted to give you another update. So far the progress of Harvest Island is going well. I'm at the end of my game development phase where I just need to program the game's ending and polish a few things here and there while fixing a lot of bugs. The list is small but it's still a lot of work. Once I feel comfortable that the work is so little, I'll release a date when Harvest Island will be released. With probably a brand new trailer. Or maybe a little tiktok video. Who knows.

Also, the steam festival is over and I have officially closed the extended demo. I hope you enjoyed it! There may be a few bugs here and there when I revert the demo to its the previous months, so I'll be fixing those behind the scenes and possibly update the demo with the bugs fixes later on.

As for plan B... if Harvest Island doesn't work out... well, Let's hope it doesn't come to that. I've worked really hard on this game and I know you guys will like it once it's releases.
