Secrets of the Gods Update

The gods have revealed Becky's past in Harvest Island's new update, Secrets of the gods. A story that intertwines the fate of Will and Samantha in escaping Harvest Island. Key items found in ambiguous places that helped Will and Samantha during their escape is explained in Becky's fight for survival. Along with Harvest Island's extended ending, escape one last time as the gods have granted you this final journey's climax!

There's so much to write and I'm excited to share my news to everyone!

It's been over a month since the launch of Harvest Island. I have been really busy fixing a lot of issues and for the most part, everything is polished. It's day and night to how Harvest Island was first launch vs how it is now. There's so much more horror moments that'll scare you. I have to hold my breath to make sure I wouldn't get jump scare when I tested my own game. And there were times I did get scared because I wasn't paying attention.

Harvest Island is such a unique game because I wanted to challenge the expectations of the farming sim genre. By making it a horror, it creates a lot of new opportunities in the farming sim that most developer wouldn't explore in making. I wanted to focus on the storytelling, the dark tones (Especially the scary music and the Sound effects), and the emphasis on exploration - that's where the fun in the game is at.

There has been a lot of patches since the game's release. Over 60! The feedback that you guys have shared helped Harvest Island a lot. I've read so many reviews on steam, lurking on twitch and youtube, and took the time to address every critique I've heard. I can't stress enough how important that was for this game and it really helped. The improvements are all across the board. All-around balancing, expanding existing ideas, and adding more eerie horror moments.

It truly is like day and night to how Harvest Island is now vs how it was since released. I can't even begin to describe the amount of changes the game underwent.

And finally, the extended ending. The journey of Harvest Island was left open ended. There wasn't an ending but a cliff hanger. Now, there is a proper ending. And as you reach that ending, you'll be extremely excited to know what the game has to offer in the future. I'll let you experience that instead of me telling you!

And! Another surprising news! I've added a story B to the game! Story A is Will and Sam which is the main story but B helps add more depth to story A. This pretty much elevates the writing a lot. Sometimes the game can be a slow start and it takes a while to get to the horror, which is the meat of the game, but with story B, it immediately starts, promising you to stick around until the very end and to experience Harvest Island's gripping story.

Lastly, I've introduced another god statue in your bedroom. This god statue gives permanent bonuses to help the game progress faster! It expands on the existing idea of God Idols and emphasizes the usage of it. This helps the game's balancing tremendously because now the game can be played in two ways. An adventure game without the farming aspect (Story Mode), or a farming sim (Normal Mode) that slowly turns into an adventure game and becomes the story mode in mid game.

I encourage everyone to try/play/revisit Harvest Island because Harvest Island is unique. It combines the extreme two genres together. And with the added new content, it elevates the writing to a new level. Harvest Island tells a compelling story that will stick with you for a very long time, even after you've finished the game. It's worth the play!
