Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector News

The Tyranid unit trailer is here

In Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, you take command of the Blood Angels in an epic campaign spanning 20 missions.

However, the Blood Angels are not alone on Baalfora. Relentless, hungry, adaptable and the enemies of all life, the Tyranids are more than worthy adversaries for the Blood Angels. In this Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector trailer, we are taking a look at the full extent of their forces for the first time.

Available in both Multiplayer and Skirmish modes, you can build army lists just like you would with the Blood Angels, then play with them against the A.I. or friends. Understanding the Tyranid’s strengths and weaknesses is critical, as it is possible to face both Blood Angels and Tyranids in Multiplayer and Skirmish.  You will need to adapt quickly should you find yourself against your own kind.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is coming to the Slitherine store, GoG.com, Epic Games and Steam on July 22nd.

Warhammer 40K game Battlesector now has a release date and pre-orders are live

June 29, 2021 Battlesector has now been delayed.

The history of Warhammer games, even Warhammer 40K games, has been a bit mixed, but the future looks bright. Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, a skirmish-level turn-based strategy game, forms part of this new optimistic outlook, especially as it's from the creators of the excellent Battlestar Galactica Deadlock.

While it's not the space-based fleet clashes that the studio has become experts in, Battlesector is still shaping up to be one of the most promising Warhammer 40K strategy games of recent years. Being turn-based, it won't have the atmosphere of Dawn of War, but the way developer Black Lab Games has designed this experience really captures the essence of the tabletop game.

We were unofficially expecting it to drop sometime this month, but the release date has now been formally set for mid-July. Pre-orders are already available and you can reserve your copy for a 10% discount if you decide to jump in early. If you want to wait to see more of the game in action first, Slitherine will be showing new footage during the Home of Wargamers event later today on the company's Twitch channel.

Warhammer 40K game Battlesector has been delayed

Upcoming Warhammer 40,000 game Battlesector, from the same minds as the excellent Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, has been delayed. Luckily, it's only by a week, and in even better news the developers have confirmed that more iconic Warhammer 40K factions will be coming to the strategy game after launch.

An official FAQ posted yesterday reveals the new release date, details on the game modes, and a full unit list of Space Marine and Tyranid units that have been rendered in the game. While the main stars of the show are the Blood Angels chapter of the Space Marines, during the single-player campaign they will get access to some Sisters of Battles units, including a hero.

Battlesector is being developed by Australian studio Black Lab Games, but it's being published by Slitherine, a company that's had the Warhammer 40K license for a while. You only need to look at the company's most recent grimdark excursions - namely 4X game Gladius, and turn-based strategy game Sanctus Reach - to see what's been done before. The former got a lot of 40K's core factions via DLC, from the Astra Militarum, to the T'au, even the Eldar.
