Community
The Devs Talk Llamas
[p]We've been watching the chatter around the Civ community about the Llama resource. "Why are they in the game?" "Why do they give happiness and production?" And of course, "Why are they so cute?” We're tagging in Taymoor from the Game Design team to reveal the inspiration behind the addition of Llamas. [/p][p][/p]
Firaxis Game Designer, Taymoor, says…
[p]"When we're looking for Resources to add into the game, there are a lot of things to take into account. In the 1.2.0 update to Resources, the biggest factors were biome, mechanical effect, and how well we were representing various natural resources from around the world. Llamas were suggested early and made everyone smile every time we talked about them, so they had to go in. We figured they'd be a hit with our audience too (the internet loves llamas!). Given their use as pack animals in South America, we knew some of their effects had to be production-based, but with how much joy we had in bringing them to the game, their main effect ended up focusing on Happiness." [/p][p][/p]
Player Spotlight
[p]Jordi Taeka[/p][p]“Day 103 - The Face of the Future (and Past)”[/p][p][/p][p]Shiningeek [/p][p]“Isabella players only want one thing, and it's disgusting.”[/p][p][/p]
We'll see you here next month!
[p]News aside, thank you for all your feedback, both critical and kind. Civilization 7 is testing a "harsher" option for its divisive Age Transitions

The transitions between the three major ages of a Civilization 7 match have been a hot topic ever since release. Arguably the biggest shake-up to the 4X series' formula in the new entry, the decision to pick a new civ at the start of each era has been divisive. In order to give Civ 7 players more flexibility and appease those wanting a more classic experience, Firaxis recently introduced Age Transition Impact settings - Regroup is for those that enjoy the new approach, and Continuity for those that want to carry more over to each age and keep things more stable. Well, a third, "harsher" option is now being considered, and it's called Collapse.
