New oil painted key art

We wanted something slightly different when we needed some new key art for Somber Echoes, and were excited when the artist Tuomas Gustafsson took an interest in painting it for us.

Now we are ready and excited to reveal the finished artwork.

Feature reveal: Bow and arrow

Previously we have shown a few of the weapons and skills you will make use of in Somber Echoes - the spear as a ranged weapon and lanterns that you can use to traverse the enviroment.

Today we want to reveal the bow and arrow - a weapon that extends Adrestias capabilities in battle - espescially during intense moments where you need some crowd control.



As you can see in this video - it both has a stasis to "freeze" the enemies and is also able to destroy several at once. It can be a very useful weapon.

Evolution of a Somber Echoes boss

This mythic bird is one of the bosses you will encounter in Somber Echoes and here you can see some steps in the process in making it come alive.

Here you can see how it progressed as a 3D model.


This is the early prototype design phase:


In the next phase the model has been implemented and have been slightly animated:


In this stage you can see the boss have been implemented to the enviroment and is close to final iteration:
