Release Weekend Update - Tutorial Fixes

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for your support during the past two days, we are glad to see that most of you are enjoying the game without major issues or bugs, and thanks for the reports on our forums and feedback that you`ve shared with us in-game! We are hard at work ironing out last of the gameplay issues and will continue updating the game every other day.

Today we have our first post-release update, the focus was on fixing the few reported issues, especially the problem with playing tutorial campaign in some languages like German or Spanish. Apologies for missing this problem. In our small team of 3 we only have English speakers and during testing.

We also plan to have another update later today or early tomorrow morning fixing other two major issues - happiness in captured town stays in the negative for way too long, and in some campaign resources counter is not updated, so it looks like your getting buildings and units for free (counter only updates on reloading the world map)

Meanwhile today`s update just went live, and once you update the game you`ll notice the in-game version will change to 1.01, and tutorial will now work correctly in all languages.

Kingdom Wars: the Plague is out now!

The Reverie World Studios team is happy to announce that Kingdom Wars: The Plague is here… After a year and a half of early access updates and revisions, we’re thrilled to release the game to the public!

Kingdom Wars: The Plague is the latest installment in the Kingdom Wars series. Set in the early renaissance period, this game is a challenging and ambitious grand strategy/RTS title. The Plague picks up on where the prequel Medieval Kingdom Wars left off. We’ve vastly expanded the world map and playable lords, created a bold and engaging campaign, improved the gameplay mechanics, and introduced dozens of new features. We hope you’ll enjoy everything KWP has to offer.

If you are new to our games, you may be surprised at our approach. We do things a little different from most studios: we spend a lot of time talking to our players and getting feedback from the community.
If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us on our forums or the in-game chat (available even in singleplayer campaign mode). Our entire development team will be on the chat around the clock, and we promise to reply to every discord and forum post. We’re looking forward to speaking with many of you over the next few days and hearing your perspectives!

[h2]Daily Updates[/h2]
While the game is in pretty good shape, and we don`t expect any major bugs or issues to crop up, we plan to work nonstop over the next few weeks to release updates, improve balancing and add content. Especially if launch will go reasonably well we plan to reinvest the funds into getting additional unique unit and building art, voice acting and music projects completed to really make the game stand out.

Please try to keep the game up to date. If you encounter a bug, let us know about it and we will fix it as soon as possible. The game is in solid shape for this launch, but small glitches are still possible, so we really appreciate your input on this matter.

[h2]Free Undead Rising DLC[/h2]
Parallel to the development of this game, we were working on The Undead Rising DLC. This DLC add Zombies to the game mechanics - where these who die from The Plague come back to life as mindless hordes, with hundreds of thousands of them roaming Europe effecting every area of gameplay. This DLC will be released for free this winter. We sincerely apologize for not releasing this DLC during Early Access, as we originally intended. It just makes sense to release additional content after the full game launch.

Kingdom Wars: The Plague to be released this Friday!

Hey everyone,

We are excited to announce that we’re set to launch Kingdom Wars: The Plague this Friday, October 22nd at 1pm EST! After many months of hard work, the game is finally ready and it’s looking better than ever.

We’re looking forward to sharing our labor of love game with you! During our time in early access, we’ve listened to community feedback and have made many changes in response to your requests. As a result, this is the best Kingdom Wars title yet! Get ready to enjoy a vastly expanded world map, hundreds of new lords, improved gameplay, and new game mechanics.

This isn’t the end of the journey, either. We will continue to update, improve, and add new content to The Plague over the coming years. These updates will also be ported to Medieval Kingdom Wars. We stand by our games and our players!

We’ll provide more information on Friday when the game is released. We’re so excited for the next evolution in Kingdom Wars and we hope you are as well!

Final Build Available Now

We have just uploaded the final build of the game, including dozens of new features that weren't part of early access, a 7 chapter tutorial campaign, and so much more. In addition all buildings, research, and upgrades are now fully implemented. We'll add some finishing touches over the next couple of days, but overall, the game is ready!

We're very excited for Friday, and looking forward to seeing you in game. The moderators and myself will be available during the launch weekend in the game chat to meet players, collect your feedback, and answer any questions you might have. We can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Update 31 - Release Plans

Hey Everyone,

And we are back with another update, as well as number of important announcements.

We are pushing forward with work on all fronts and expect to complete and release Kingdom Wars Plague later this fall. We`ll an ounce exact date later this month.

Over the past months we have been working on a number large projects which are finally very close to completion.

In a couple of weeks we are adding Tutorial Campaign. This 7 mission campaign is a historically accurate story of Genoese colonies in Crimea, including famous siege of Caffa by the Golden Horde. Campaign includes full introduction to the game and explains most of the game mechanics.

We also completing last of the game mechanics - so all the buildings and technologies will be working.

From that point on once game enters beta stage we`ll continue polish, improve and add more art and audio assets as we move towards release.

With regards to the Undead Rising DLC, we made a big mistake trying to release it before finishing and releasing the actual game:) DLCs are meant to be additional content for post-release, but we got too excited with the idea of it, and thus tried to release it before finishing the actual game...

Sincere apologies to all of you who are only interested in Kingdom Wars Plague course of the Undead Rising DLC. We will release this DLC towards the Holidays, couple of months after KWP launch. And it will be a FREE DLC.

  • Greatly improved one of the main interface problem - delay with selecting armies
  • Fixed issues with army and town selections
  • Fixed performance issues when changing tax rates on towns and hamlets
  • Update to make taxes, happiness and other things more efficient to process
  • AI sends correct number of armies from Hamlets and Towns now instead of always 1
  • Various fixes to diplomatic setup and starting towns for middle eastern nations
  • Corrected Town of Thebes not having right map for hamlet
  • Changed GUI title from Craft into Research for Chancellor screen in all languages

  • Fixed Stewards animation that looked really bad on news and tutorial popups
