The Deities Update: Volcanic | Patch #9

Hi all,

Today's update marks Part 1 of the new content updates I'll be doing: The Deities. These are space asteroids with extreme defence and knights who serve under them. This update brings the first boss, The Volcanic Deity. Read more below!

New Boss: Volcanic Deity

Introducing the Volcanic Deity, a starter boss that appears after Level 4. His unique abilities bring tough volcanic rock to shoot through, taking up to 50 bullets to destroy. At the same time, he commands an eruption of Volcanic Knights to spring into the scene. Defeating him grants you 5,000 points and 3 player levels to use to unlock cosmetics!

Serving under the Deity comes the Volcanic Knights. Similar to Mayhem Rocks, these Knights take more than just a bullet. They travel 1.5x faster than a normal asteroid and require 5 hits to destroy each one. Do you have what it takes to stand against them and defeat their king?

In future updates, I would like to add more deities, with unique abilities and even attacks later on. I can say with confidence though, the next boss to come to Rocky Mayhem is the Frozen Deity. I plan to add that and one more to complete the bosses.

Patch 8.6 - Reinforced Asteroids + Mayhem Balances

Hi all!

This mini update brings a new Mayhem-exclusive asteroid type and balances to the mode. Please keep in mind Mayhem mode is extremely new and will require balances, fixes and more to be stable enough. I'd highly recommend staying with Normal if you're focusing for achievements.

Also please note regarding the reinforced asteroid that the design of it is NOT final. An old design will be used until I decide if it's suitable for the game long term. This is to save time and resources.

Created by a mysterious entity comes the reinforced asteroids. Covered in tinted blue titanium metal, this asteroid will pose a major threat to your ship. And shooting it once won't destroy it easily either...

Patch 8.5 - Mayhem Mode + Future Plans

Hi all!

Once again, this update will be small and only rewarding to those who want a major new challenge. However, before I get to the patch notes, I'd like to say a few things.

What's Next

Obviously, thank you so much to those who have played, finished and reviewed the game. I am extremely grateful, and the game has even reached 20 concurrent players which is a major achievement to me. In terms of gameplay wise, I've added everything I want to for the current survival mode. The idea of a story mode or co-op mode is still in the air so bare with me.

One thing I want to do is achievements. Unfortunately until the game gets more reviews, Steam has capped me at 100 achievements so the ideas I have for so many new ones cannot go ahead. As soon as this changes, you can expect a patch of up to 100-250 new achievements, with some achievements related to the new statistic system I implemented. Until that is added, I cannot think of adding any new content, especially with 90% of the playerbase playing for achievements. I see it as an unproductive amount of time, if I was to make a whole new mode with no achievements for it.

So until then, expect new cosmetics, balances and more!

Mayhem mode brings survival to a whole new level. With asteroids spawning 25% faster, leeches spawning 10% faster, your bullets shooting 8% slower and your plasma field cooldown reduced by 60%, are you ready for this new chaotic mode?

Patch 8.2 - Space Leeches, Limited Edition Pride Skin

Hi all!

This update is a small one but brings in a deadly contestant. Also, until July 1st, use code "pride" to unlock the Pride 2024 skin!

[h3]New Enemy: Space Leech[/h3]
Letting one of these grab onto your ship is worse than hitting an asteroid. These critters drift in space, clinging and climbing into anything floating, including ships! Once inside, your ship suffers an insane debuff. With your rocket boosters disabled, your thrusters at half-efficiency and your gun majorly slowed down, you're doomed. However, using a shield or the incinerating beam will fry the little bug inside of your ship.
