🎯 Nostalgia – Strategy Never Dies
[p]Back in the 1990s, turn-based strategy games weren’t just a genre — they were a way of thinking.
Games like Fantasy General (1996), Panzer General (1994), Heroes of Might and Magic II (1996), and X-COM: UFO Defense (1994) taught us that every decision matters, every unit has a story, and patience wins wars.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]🧠 Fun fact: Panzer General was so successful it became the first TBS game added to the Smithsonian's video game collection as a cultural icon.[/p][p][/p][p]These legendary titles laid the foundation for what we’re building in Shields of Loyalty — a modern love letter to old-school tactics, layered combat, and strategic storytelling.[/p]

[p]📢 Don't forget mthat the release is on 12th August. Mark your calenders.[/p][p]🛡️ Prepare your armies — and your curiosity.[/p][p]👉 Stay tuned. Stay tactical.[/p][p]— The Shields of Loyalty Team

Midweek Poll
[p]In Shields of Loyalty, each faction offers a distinct visual and thematic style — from their units and buildings to their battle philosophy and homeland.

Take a look at the images below, then let us know:[/p]
👉 Which faction style speaks to you the most?

⚔️ 1. Knight Faction (The Empire)
[p]A classic medieval knightly faction with a disciplined army, honour-bound leadership, and well-armoured soldiers. Their castles and cities reflect the chivalric traditions of old Europe.

[/p]
🐺 2. Warlord Faction (The Warlords)
[p]Savage, primal, and untamed. This faction is a mix of barbaric warriors and beasts, surviving the harsh barrenlands with sheer strength, rage, and unity between man and monster.

[/p]
🏯 3. Highpriest Faction (The Eastern Alliance)
[p]Inspired by the cultures of the Middle and Far East, this faction features elite units such as samurais, desert warriors, and camel riders, with a blend of Hammurabi-era discipline and mysticism.

🛡️ Tactical Tuesday – Light Cavalry's Formation Skill Explained 🐎
[p]IMPORTANT NOTE: This post was scheduled for yesterday but it is postponed because of a setting in the post schedules. Sorry for the inconvenience. Now I will share this post with today's post together. Have fun blogging.

Let’s take a closer look at one of the unique passive abilities in Shields of Loyalty — the Formation skill of Light Cavalry (Noblemen units).

🎥 \[See GIF]: In this short moment, the Light Cavalry is attacked — but instead of taking damage, it falls back by one tile and completely avoids the hit (damage does show but doesn't apply). That’s the power of Formation.
[/p]
⠀⠀⠀⠀__________________________________________________
[p]🔍 \[See Screenshot]: You’ll notice the Formation Count displayed on the unit info panel (top right of the screen). Each Light Cavalry has a limited number of these passive evasions per battle.
[/p]

🧠 How it works:
• [p]Passive trigger – No need to activate manually.[/p]
  • [p]When attacked and the Formation is available:
→ The unit falls back 1 tile
    Receives no damage[/p]
  • [p]If the Formation can’t trigger (e.g. it’s used up, no space to retreat, or the unit is heavily damaged):
→ The unit still falls back like any other,
→ But takes the full damage.[/p]
[p]💡 Use Light Cavalry wisely — they’re mobile, quick, and can slip out of danger... but not forever. Keep an eye on that Formation count!

🐐 LORE SNIPPET: “The Fall of the Goatking”

[p]Long ago, when Mantaria's forests still whispered with wild magic, the spirits of nature shaped a warrior-guardian to protect their realm. From twisted roots and ancient bones, they gave form to the Goatking — a beast with the lower body of a goat and the upper body of a hulking warrior.[/p][p]He wielded a crude sword forged from ironwood and raw ore, his wooden shield carved from sacred groves. His twisted horns bore moss, and his white fur shimmered in moonlight. For a time, he was a protector. But with each century, solitude and power turned him cruel.[/p][p]He no longer guarded the forests — he ruled them.

The Goatking’s wrath reached the walls of Castle Rifthain, where fire scorched the woods and storms howled without end. Creatures of the wild followed him, corrupted by his command. One by one, nearby villages vanished.[/p][p]But then came Aglovan, noble of the Crimson Order. With golden armour and a blade passed down through generations, he marched through the burning woods. By his side flew an eagle, watching from above.[/p][p]As he neared the gates of Rifthain, lightning cracked and the Goatking stepped forward — sword in hand, ready to crush Mantaria’s last hope.[/p][p][/p][p] The final clash was swift — steel against fury. Aglovan charged, his eagle screeching above. The Goatking roared and met him head-on, sword raised.[/p][p]Steel clashed. Sparks danced. The world seemed to hold its breath.[/p][p]Then, in a flash of blinding light, Aglovan’s blade found its mark. The Goatking staggered, eyes wide, and let out a final, thunderous cry. He fell to his knees before the castle he once cursed.

[/p][p]The skies cleared. The fires died.[/p][p]Mantaria had a new legend.
