Battle Bands Patch Notes #6

This 6th Patch moves us towards better stability and balance, with a few fun things thrown in as thanks for all the wonderful and insightful feedback. You are all helping to improve Battle Bands, immensely!

[h2]Bugs[/h2]

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • Royale bots no longer get "Patient Bridge" as often.
  • "Roasting Their Past" now bolts correctly.
  • "Comedic Lick" now bolts correctly.
  • "Classic Joke Book" gear now counts to proper target and then activates instead of going up infinitely.
  • Default Band name now remembers last band name entered always.
  • Loading a saved game should properly retain upgrades (some upgrade text descriptions may be missing from the deck view, this is a purely visual bug)
  • Card Removal purchase count is now saved so it will no longer reset with every load.
  • Fixed issue with opening moment card removals not being saved.
  • Fixed issue with reconnecting making it impossible to drive.
  • Fixed issue when band owner disconnects during vendor so players no longer get stranded.
  • Fixed issue when reconnecting where waiting for players screen is not cleared when on campaign map.
  • Fixed issue when reconnecting during a match not correctly showing cards in hand until next turn.
  • Fixed issue with moment after reconnecting with a bandmate who does not reconnect.

  • "Barely Beanie" hairstyle fixed bone weights.
  • "Shirley Temple" hairstyle less jiggly.
  • "The Riveter" hairstyle less jiggly.
  • "Patchy" mask now has shine on the nose, and white teeth.

  • "Pony Up" hairstyle mesh fixed.

  • Goo Fighters: Tour Level 2, -1 "Viscous Verse" and -1 Max hand size. Tour Level 4, -1 Card Draw, -1 Energy, -1 Max Hand Size. Tour Level 5, -1 Energy, -1 Max hand size. Tour Level 6, -1 "Belch" -1 Energy, -2 Max hand Size.
  • Scrap Titan: Tour Level 2, -2 Max Hand Size.
  • Riff Rats: Tour Level 3, -1 "Family" Tour Level 7, -1 "Family"
  • Bardbarians: Tour Level 3, -1 card draw.
  • Coin Ops: Tour Level 4, -2 Max hand size.
  • Caper Crew: Tour Level 4, -1 "Big Boss"
  • Real Good Boys: Tour Level 7, -1 Energy.


[h3]Cards & Gear[/h3]
  • "Pensive" upgrade now gives +1 extra hype on muck.
  • "Pleasant" upgrade now gives +1 more hype on draw.
  • "Repeat The Beat" now has a second upgrade "Aggressively"
  • "Well Thrown Sticks" no longer exhausts, "Speedy" upgrade replaced with "Burning"
  • "Tell The Crowd They Are The Best" now only gives 3 Protection total.
  • All "Loud" cards (Keys, beat, Riff, and Lick) now only require 4 plays to upgrade.
  • "Defensive" upgrade now gives 2 Protection and no longer lowers energy cost.
  • "Distracting Bass Lick" now only has 6 capacity.
  • "Cymbal Practice" gives 1 more hype to all "Snare Hits"
  • "Muse" now gives -1 extra Protection every turn.
  • "Stretching Break" now tier 3 instead of tier 2.
  • "Beautiful Memory" now only gives 1 energy to self on play.
  • "Reverb Pedal" requires only 3 quicks to cause draws.
  • "Magical Headphones" now have band draw 2 for every 4 louds.

  • "Finga" hairstyle added to store pool.
  • "Blacklight" van skin added to store pool.


[h3]Quality of Life Changes[/h3]
  • Moments only count human players for votes resolving disconnecting moment issues and removing band leader vote advantage.
  • Weekly Store only has Legendary and Rare Items.
  • Added an Information Button during battles that shows useful information!

Battle Bands Patch Notes #5

Players can now leave a tour mode run and come back to it later! This includes multiplayer runs with the band leader holding onto the save and able to bring the same folks back, replace them with new friends or let bots finish it out!

Player feedback has been great and has helped us find more bugs to destroy and things to create. We can't wait to hear how the new save system works for everyone and any other thoughts you have about Battle Bands and how it can continue to get better!

[h3]Save System![/h3]
You can now leave and go back to an existing tour!
The option to load a previous band is added to the band setup screen where the band leader can invite friends to join the save game or ready up with bots as with a new tour.
One save slot is available at a time so if you don't like your last run you can just start a new one and move on.

[h3]New Cosmetics![/h3]
  • "Frosted Top" Hairstyle added to the store pool.
  • "Heart U" Makeup added to the store pool.

  • Bass player can receive energy from non bots again!
  • Royale vendor Fixed to now show correct gear.

  • "Soft Sticks" costs one more energy.
  • "Star Power Chord" Now gives 1 random opposing bandmember 2 Star struck instead of all opposing band members 1, also 1 fewer hype.
  • "Celebratory Verse" no longer has "Speedy" upgrade, now has "Welcoming" upgrade.
  • "Head Slam" now has "Mean" as a possible option.

Battle Bands Patch Notes #4

More amazing feedback and more stuff for us to improve in Battle Bands! We are so grateful to everyone who is playing and hope we can keep making that experience even better!

The Fourth Patch pushes us further into our battle of destroying bugs and finding balance, with a few new looks and fun changes joining the fray. We can't wait to hear more of your thoughts about Battle Bands and the updates as we continue to grow with your help!

  • "Let's Do this!" chat command fixed spelling.
  • Upgrade Pips now visible in tutorial.
  • Improved Load In/Load Out selections for players with slower connections
  • Confusing Imitation no longer gets stuck in hand.
  • "Mimicking Hook" no longer causes last card played to get stuck in hand.
  • "Leadership Riff" no longer gets stuck in hand.
  • "Inside Joke" no longer ignores Protection.
  • "Mock Their Buddies" now fires its bolts correctly.
  • Can no longer pay off the giant in the giant bath moment if you do not have enough money.

  • "Mouth option 11" had its size tweaked to better fit the Player's face.
  • "Hen Friend" outfit no longer has an unruly armpit edge.
  • "Nose option 19" had a small adjustment to its placement, and slightly cleaned up edges.
  • "Demonic" hairstyle now has the correct masks.
  • All van skins now have the correct alpha mask.
  • "Jackal" guitar had a minor tweak to its texture to better fit the artstyle.
  • "Agent 69" glasses now display correctly in the Shop view.
  • "Big N' Round" glasses now display correctly in the Shop view.
  • "Perdy" glasses now display correctly in the Shop view.
  • "Chilled Pineapple" mask now displays correctly in the Shop view.

  • Middle Click on a bandmate to send them energy quickly!
  • Two new vendor configurations for royale to add variety to the different combinations and strategies available during any given royale.
  • Royale starts every 5 minutes, less waiting more Battling!
  • All challenges have had their Season XP reward increased!

Battle Bands Hotfix

[h2]Quick Fixes:[/h2]
  • Can now see how many times a card must be played in order to upgrade it when on the deck screen, choosing new cards, or removing cards.
  • You can now see possible upgrades and details of a card with right click while on the card removal screen.
  • "Mom And Dad" common version (gained from moments) now takes 2 plays to upgrade.
  • "Invigorating Beat" now Exhausts, no longer has the "Jacked Up" upgrade now has the "Speedy" upgrade.
  • "Pump Up Beat" has +1 Capacity.

We noticed a little bug that annoyed us enough to push a same day fix and threw in some nerfs for good measure.

Battle Bands Patch Notes #3

The continued response to Battle Bands has been amazing and the feedback invaluable, with it we have continued fixing issues and improving the game!

The third patch is focused mainly on fixing bugs and continuing the quest for balance, with a few quality of life improvements in there as well. We look forward to you playing more with Patch #3 and continuing to give us more useful feedback!

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • "Dancing To The Groove" no longer discards entire opponent hand when it should discard no cards from opponent hand.
  • "Thunderous Cacophony" description fixed.
  • "Beasts Theme" no longer dodges protection.
  • "Drumline With The Crew" description fixed.
  • "Steal" Changed to "Copy" for cards that do not destroy the original when they replicate it on your side ie. "Mimicking Hook"
  • Band names no longer overlap with skip button.
  • Moments have more time before closing after the outcome is decided.
  • Removing cards using a moment no longer raises price of card removal at shops.
  • Modifiers added during a match do not stick around in the descriptions on following screens.
  • Self discard no longer leaves duplicate unplayable cards in hand. Now all discarded and exhausted cards disappear from hand properly.

  • "Barely Beanie" clipping fix.
  • "Strands Sidepart" clipping fix.
  • "Shaggy Swoop" clipping fix.

  • Claiming Challenges no longer cause last season unlock to pop up as if it is a new unlock.
  • Main menu van defaults to last used van skin.

  • Jackal Brothers: Hype Goal base lowered by 5, Tour Level 2&3 have one more "Howling Organ" each. Tour Level 7&8 have one more energy and one fewer "Reckless Rides."
  • Goo Fighters: Tour Level 1 have -1 card draw and one fewer "Oozing Lick." Tour Level 3 have + 1 card draw and max hand size.
  • Riff Rats: Tour level 1 has -1 Energy and +1 "Family." Tour Level 6 has +1 Energy.
  • Caper Crew: Tour Level 1 has -1 Energy and +1 "Retreat Beat." Tour Level 3 has +1 "Vault Keys." Tour Level 5 has +1 energy.
  • BardBarians: Tour Level 1 has -1 Card Draw. Tour Level 4 has +1 Card Draw and Max hand size.

  • "Cymbalic Reminders" is now tier 3 from tier 2, +1 capacity and only modifies snares in hand.
  • "Steady Riff" renamed to "Steady Lick"
  • "Legendary Instructor" now exhausts.

  • Each Show in tour mode now gives $10 fewer then it did before.
  • Party Moment give $10 less for reward.
  • Contract moment gives $25 and $50 less respectively for small and big contract options.
  • Sponsorship Moment give $15 less for taking either option.
  • Time Traveling Phone Booth moment gives $15 fewer dollars.
  • Laundromat Moment card removals cost $15 and $20 more for 1 and 2 removal options respectively.
