Level Design Live Stream

Hey there racers,
Have you ever wondered how we design and create levels? Have you got ideas of your own?

Well, you’re in luck as we’ll be hosting a live stream this coming Wednesday (December 7th at 18:30 GMT) where you can find out all about Turbo Golf Racing’s level design and construction. We’ll be running through the fundamentals of level design and will create a level from scratch; you’ll be able to add your own ideas to the level via the live stream chat.

Season 2 – Aztec Run Out Now

Hey there racers,
The Turbo Golf Racing Season 2 is now live! Get logged in, get racing, and get earning all the new season rewards.

Season 2’s Aztec Run brings with it 10 new Aztec-inspired levels with environmental features that’ll help you hit the hole faster, new season rewards, shop items, game features, improvements, and bug fixes. You’ll find the full patch notes below.

New Features:
  • Ranked Leaderboards
  • Win count Leaderboards
  • 10 new Aztec-inspired levels with added waterfalls, fountains, and geysers to use to your advantage
  • 40 Season rewards including new cars, boosters, decals, finishes and avatars
  • Lots of new shop items
  • New tutorial that offers glide and magnet core training
  • Online friends indicator added to the lobby
Updated Features:
  • Improvements to the Out-Of-Bounds (OOB) system with visual indicators as the player or their ball approaches it
  • The new boost pick-up is here to stay
  • Time Trials star times have been reviewed
  • Barrier connections are smoother across all maps
  • Matchmaking rules have been improved
  • Reward screens now show players progress to their next reward
  • Online loading screens now display the player’s personal best
  • Added percentile rankings to leaderboards
  • ‘Shot of the match’ now displays the player’s power cores
  • Inactive in-game threshold has been increased
  • The magnet core is now unlocked by default
  • Small ball core now requires 15 wins to unlock
  • Game logo has been updated
  • Splash screen artwork has been updated
Bug Fixes:
  • Addressed emoji selection being covered by buttons in spectator mode
  • Addressed issue causing Xbox One X crashes
  • Previous patch notes timings have been corrected
  • Adjusted fans for better alignment
  • Experienced players are no longer limited to larger maps
  • Players are now kicked from the party when they quit the game
  • Players who have not unlocked online mode can no longer be invited to parties

Season 2 – Aztec Run Coming Nov. 17th

Hey there racers,
It’s time to set your sun discs; Turbo Golf Racing’s Season 2 is launching on November 17th. The new Season, Aztec Run, will bring with it new levels, new rewards, and new and exciting ways to get your ball beyond the bunker and into the hole.

Here’s what’s coming:
  • Ranked Leaderboards

  • 40 Season rewards including new cars, boosters, decals, finishes and avatars

We’ve also made improvements to a number of existing features in the game; full details of which will be in the patch notes available after the game updates on Thursday.

Design a Ball Community Competition

Hey there racers,
It's time to get creative. We're asking you, the community, to design another ball for Turbo Golf Racing.

You could be responsible for thousands of people smashing a juicy meatball down the fairway, chipping Jupiter out of this world, or rolling a glass eye into the hole. Your imagination is the limit.

To get involved, submit your design entries via our Discord. Four entries will be picked by the team at Hugecalf; the Discord community will vote on the overall winner.

You have one week to submit your entry; come have your say.

How to Enter:
  • Entrants can submit their idea for a new and original ball for inclusion in Turbo Golf Racing via the correct competition channel on the Turbo Golf Racing Discord
  • Entrants can either submit their idea/ideas via text and/or with images
  • Submitted ideas must be an original idea to you
  • Designs must be submitted before 23:59 (GMT) on November 10th, 2022. Any designs submitted after this date will not be considered
The Prize:
  • There is one prize: The winning entrant’s design will be created by Hugecalf Studios and added to Turbo Golf Racing in a future update
Additional information:
  • Competition closing date: 23:59 (GMT) on November 10th, 2022
  • All valid entries submitted within the competition window will be judged by Hugecalf Studios and four finalists will be chosen. A community vote will then be held to decide on the winning submission
  • The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into

Turbo Golf Racing Tricks ‘n Treats Update

Hey there racers,
A chilling mist has descended on the Turbo Golf Racing courses; supernatural forces are in play and Hell has been unleashed! Celebrate the season of shivers in Turbo Golf Racing with some Halloween-themed cosmetics that will really give your competitors a scare.

FULL PATCH NOTES CAN BE FOUND BELOW

During the time-limited Halloween Event which will run from now through to Wednesday, November 2, you’ll be able to unlock a series of creepy cosmetics by undertaking a series of missions, an exciting new addition to Turbo Golf Racing. Complete the missions and you’ll nab yourself the following items:

  • Haunted Pumpkin Avatar
  • Pumpkin Ball
  • Pumpkin and Bats decal set
  • Bats boost trail
  • Pumpkin boost trail


Alongside all of the ghoulishly good Halloween-themed cosmetics, we have added Hornet, a community-created vehicle, into the game; that will really put a sting in your tail!

For the duration of the event, you’ll find a new ‘Boost Canister’ pick-up dotted throughout the courses. When activated, players will receive a short speed boost. If the players like this new feature, it may be added to the game permanently. Remember to leave your feedback via the Discord.

We’ve also taken this update as an opportunity to add some additional community-requested features, updated some existing ones and fixed a couple of bugs too. You’ll find the patch notes below.

[h3]Patch Notes[/h3]

New Features:
  • New Missions - In addition to the Quests system, players can now complete new challenges to unlock special rewards.
  • Added cooldown punishment for players quitting the game. The cooldown increases with further rule breaks and resets with positive behaviour.
  • A cooldown sound has been added to cores.
  • Players can now select multiple server regions.
  • Players can now play music throughout the game.
  • Patch notes can be viewed by players directly in the game.

Updated Features:
  • The ‘Quick Flip’ Power Core now gives players larger speed boost and better directional control.
  • Holding boost on countdown at the beginning of a race results in players receiving regular boost.
  • The initial level cutscene now pans over cars in the game.
  • End of season timer can now be seen in Season 1.
  • Driving onto bunkers is now smoother.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug where players couldn’t re-bind the R, ctrl or shift keys
  • Addressed a camera shake issue that affected some players.

Optimisation:
  • Optimized server cost at the start and end of game which should reduce frame rate drops
