🚛 Dev Log - New Traffic Vehicles
Hello, truckers! 👋
Today we’d like to once again show our progress on traffic in Truck World: Australia.

We’ve replaced all the vehicle models you saw in First Haul with new ones - models that are closer to the types of cars you would actually see on Australian roads.

Here are some of them:
🚗 Compact car

🚙 SUV

🛻 Pickup

🚘 Sedan

🚐 Minivan
And here’s a small traffic jam I accidentally created while trying to take pictures of all the cars 😄
💬 Let us know in the comments what cars you would like to see on the roads of Truck World: Australia!
🚛 Dev Log - Cummins → Lock → Kimba → Port Augusta Road
Hello, truckers! 👋
Today we’d like to show you another road in southern Australia - the Cummins → Lock → Kimba → Port Augusta route.

This is a new drive through rural areas, featuring long highway stretches, open landscapes, and the distinctive atmosphere of Australia’s south. The world is gradually becoming more diverse, with new settlements and infrastructure taking shape.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

At the start of the video, I decided to wash the truck at the automatic wheel wash - because a clean truck drives faster… right? 😉

Many areas along this route will still be improved - everything shown is work in progress - but we couldn’t wait to share our progress on these new locations.

You may also notice the fuel station areas. For now, they are placeholders — we’re actively working on a full refueling system and will showcase it in more detail in an upcoming dev log.

🚛 Dev Log - Updated Traffic System & How It Works

Hello, truckers! 👋

This time we’d like to talk about the updated traffic system on the roads of Australia.

Unlike First Haul, the full version of the game features complex intersections, roundabouts, and cities, so we completely reworked the behavior of AI vehicles.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Now the AI-car analyzes the situation:
 • checks for the player and other vehicles along its driving path (red markers)
 • calculates possible trajectory intersections
 • slows down or stops to avoid collisions

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Outside the cities, the new traffic behaves faster and more confidently — vehicles drive at the speed limit, instead of crawling along the highway.

Our goal is to make traffic predictable, fast, and realistic, creating a living world without getting in the player’s way.

Next time, we’ll talk about new vehicle models for traffic 🚗

Add Truck World: Australia to your wishlist - more updates are coming soon!

🚛 Dev Log - The Coffin Bay → Cummins Road
Hello, truckers! 👋
Today we’d like to show you another road in southern Australia - the route between Coffin Bay and Cummins.

This is a new drive through coastal and rural areas, featuring long stretches of road, open landscapes, and the distinct atmosphere of Australia’s south.

🚚 And yes — the same truck from Driving School is back in the main game!
Now it comes with full steering wheel support and updated handling 😉

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

You may also notice the new traffic in the footage. It’s still a work in progress - vehicles can behave a bit rough and occasionally collide with each other. We’re actively improving this system and will share more details once it’s ready.

As in the main game, the trip starts and ends at cargo loading and unloading locations. We’re continuing to build a world centered around real routes and logistics, not just roads leading nowhere.

There’s much more ahead: new routes, cities, a variety of trailers and cargo types. We’re also getting close to showcasing the first contracts and many other core systems!

🚛 Dev Log — The Road to Cummins & Development Progress
Hello, truckers! 👋
Happy holidays to everyone! 🎉
Today we’d like to show you a small part of our current progress in location development — specifically, the road to Cummins.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In this video, you can see significantly more greenery compared to First Haul. We’re gradually moving away from purely desert landscapes and making the world more diverse.

In fact, we already have around 20 new roads and several small towns nearly ready, but we’ll show them a bit later — once they’re fully polished.
🌗 Day / Night & AI Traffic
At the same time, we’re working on a new day/night system — the previous version was poorly optimized, so we’re now building a new lighting setup for the game.

You may also notice that there are currently no cars on the roads. This is due to the active development of a new traffic AI.
With the new system, vehicles will:
 • handle complex intersections and roundabouts
 • drive confidently both in cities and outside urban areas — not too slow and not too fast
 • behave naturally and not get in the player’s way
🚧 What’s next?
Development is currently moving at the fastest pace we’ve had so far.
Next year, we’ll start showing more gameplay and more locations.
