Since early this year, we’ve been playtesting the prologue and improving every part of it based on feedback:

First off, we want to acknowledge the great response we received to our initial call for playtesters a while back. We received a large number of submissions, and we really appreciate the interest shown in Truck World: Australia.

Just confirming for those who submitted back then: you are definitely still in the running! We will be randomly selecting playtesters from that group.

However, if you missed that initial opportunity, or if you're looking for another way to secure a spot, we wanted to provide a new chance to try out the game before the public demo.

So, we're launching a new opportunity to get involved – this time, it’s a little competitive.

[h3]Development Updates – Dynamic UI for Controls[/h3]
We've improved how controls are displayed in the interface! Now, in-game prompts will show the correct button icons for your steering wheel or gamepad.



[h3]First Playtest Recap[/h3]

We’ve just wrapped up our first wave of playtests in our [Discord server], and we’re really happy with the results! Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made significant improvements across the board.

As we move forward, we’re closing the application form for new playtesters, but don’t worry—we’ll continue inviting selected participants from those who have already signed up as needed. If you applied, stay tuned for potential future invites!



[h3]What’s Improved?[/h3]

Recent updates to Truck World: Australia have brought numerous enhancements focused on realism, usability, and immersion:
✔ Controller support improvements – better detection and configuration of gamepads and steering wheels, automated binding conflict detection, and fixes for compatibility issues—especially for popular brands like Fanatec and Simucube.
✔ Refined vehicle dynamics – improved truck mass perception, better road friction at higher speeds, and fine-tuned gear mappings for automatic transmissions.
✔ Enhanced Force Feedback (FFB) – now featuring realistic engine vibrations, better simulation of road irregularities like anti-rain grids, and smoother responsiveness thanks to FFB calculations being moved to a separate thread.
✔ Gameplay fixes – resolved unintended truck movement with the handbrake engaged, corrected input sensitivity and camera settings, and added toggle bindings for retarder and splitter controls.
✔ Enhanced immersion – upgraded truck and ambient sound positioning, improved truck engine audio, and added realistic animations for doors, mudflaps, and trailer cables.
✔ Better menus and settings – numerous visual and functional improvements to make configuring your trucking experience easier and smoother.

We’re gearing up for closed testing of the full demo version of Truck World: Australia! As before, we’ll keep improving the game step by step, incorporating your feedback along the way.

[h2]🛠 Automatic Steering Wheel Configuration[/h2]
Many popular steering wheel models will now work right away upon connection—no need to manually assign every button. But if you’d like to adjust your controls, you have two convenient options:
✔ Use the configuration wizard for quick setup.
✔ Manually assign individual commands for full control over your steering.

[h2]🌍 Improved Force Feedback on Dirt Roads[/h2]
In Truck World Australia, you won’t just be driving on asphalt—you’ll also tackle dirt roads. We’ve paid special attention to how Force Feedback feels in these conditions.
Now:
✔ Terrain readability has been improved—you’ll feel bumps and loose surfaces more clearly.
✔ The truck’s handling on dirt roads is now more realistic and predictable.

We’ve gathered data from the playtest and are working on an updated demo version. It will be small, more like an extended playtest, but with a few new features we hope you’ll enjoy!
