[p]Hey everyone, in the last few days we've fixed some serious bugs and issues thanks to your feedback:[/p]
  • [p]Crash in 5th tutorial and on day start should be fixed now[/p]
  • [p]Crash when building too many walls or buildings fixed[/p]
  • [p]Trading post not unlocking with research node fixed[/p]
  • [p]Workers and units not moving on ladders correctly fixed[/p]
  • [p]Map covered in water or ground level being too low/below water fixed[/p]
  • [p]PC UI scaled up as it was too small[/p]
  • [p]Arrow movement when using keyboard locking units control and triggering top UI navigation fixed[/p]
  • [p]Golem boss not attacking units and his mini golems head color fixed[/p]
  • [p]Auto save not happening sometimes when placing a castle fixed[/p]
  • [p]Tutorial 1 enemies spawning on a cell that needs to be captured later fixed[/p]
  • [p]Tutorial is now a default game mode when starting a new game[/p]
  • [p]First sawmill requiring wood to be built fixed[/p]
  • [p]And some more minor bugs[/p]

1.0 update preview and upcoming price change

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p]1.0 release is just around the corner, and we wanted to share a small preview of what it will look like.[/p][p][/p][h3]Roads[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]They serve as an organizing tool and also look cool.[/p][p][/p][h3]Bosses[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Each is unique in its own way. Destroying an enemy tower will spawn one of the bosses the following night, so be sure you’re ready to meet them![/p][p][/p][h3]Achievements[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Yes, finally achievements are coming to Steam! Are you ready?[/p][p][/p][h3]Steam deck and full controller support[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Completely new UI for a better keyboard/mouse and controller experience![/p][p][/p][h3]New guided tutorial[/h3][p]We’ve added a completely new guided tutorial that will help new players learn how to play the game. It might not be super exciting for you if you’ve played Becastled before, but it will help your friend who was waiting for a polished Becastled experience a lot.[/p][p][/p][h3]Optimizations and bug fixes[/h3][p]Performance and stability are much better now! Since we managed to make Becastled work on Nintendo Switch (add to your wishlists here: Becastled on Switch), the PC version also got a performance boost too.[/p][p][/p][h3]Missing 1.0 content[/h3][p]There will be a few things that will not be present in 1.0 from the Early Access description on our steam page. And we would like to adress those things.[/p][p][/p][p]We wanted to add magic spells or mages into the game, but it contradicted our design idea of castle defense. If you imagine how castle defense looks, you might picture something like Lord of the Rings moments - walls filled with archers and knights at the gate. If mages were more powerful, why would we need an army? We wanted army management to be a core part of the gameplay and didn’t want to create any workarounds in that regard and we didn't want to give too much power in the hands of a single unit.[/p][p][/p][p]The same thing happened to the idea of having heroes, like in Warcraft 3 let’s say. We end up creating elite unit level tier, just cool looking and slightly better stats then regular ones. This feature is already in the game.
[/p][p]We also discussed an idea of having a story campaign, but we couldn’t find a way to make it interesting without it just being a “do the same thing” type of campaign repeated 20 times. We might rethink it after the 1.0 release and expand our tutorial into a story campaign, but we’re not 100% sure about that yet.[/p][p][/p][h3]Price change[/h3][p]As we are exiting Early Access, we will be changing the base price of Becastled from $15 to $20, with regional prices applied. Becastled 1.0 launches October 23!
