Major features:
- Research Tree
- Now you can spend knowledge and different resources to unlock new technology or buildings
- With over 25 researches it provides a comprehensive upgrade path for your town
- The tree is split into 3 tiers, each new tier unlocks a new castle level that provides new bonuses and allows you to build higher tier building upgrades!
- New Resources
- Iron - used for some buildings and for unit upgrades, you will find ore deposits on newly generated maps
- Knowledge - produced in the new Library building, can be spent on unlocking new researches
- Horses - required by Trading Post
- Smithy and Unit upgrades - use the new Iron resource to upgrade units and siege machines equipment
- Resource trading - once you build a trading post you can exchange different resources for sunstone!
New Buildings
- New Castle levels - unlock required research for each tier to upgrade your castle
- Library - new building that produces knowledge
- Observatory - gives bonus to library production, similar to the windmill
- Iron Furnace - place it on Iron deposit cells to extract iron
- Trading Post
- Buy and send caravans for additional income
- Unlocks the ability to trade your resources
- Smithy - allows you to upgrade your soldiers and siege engines
- Butcher’s shop - gives bonus to meat food production in cell
- Vegetable field - new food producing building, unlocked via a high tier research, can be placed on any non-food resource tile
New soundtrack!
- 2 day tracks and 2 night tracks
Other changes and mechanics
- New Save system, now saves are organized by game worlds
- Workers will now go to their homes at night instead of teleporting, so make sure to provide them with a close enough home so they don’t get caught by wolves or the moon warriors on the way home!
- Updated UI
- Adjusted difficulty curve
- Now unlimited days is the default and only game mode. This is our main direction of designing and balancing the game
- Better performance
- Also we fixed some of the bugs
We planned to release a sandbox update along with Tech Tree but decided to move it’s release a bit and to spend that time on fixing navigation issues. We will make navigation work better and faster for our next update called city building.
