EA 0.8 Preview Build 3000 - Patch Notes

Hello! We have a few new fixes we wanted to get out to you before the Easter holiday weekend for the EA 0.8 preview!

A big thank you to everyone who has reported bugs! Here's what we fixed:

[h2]Changelog[/h2]
  • Fixed some issues with the HQ schedule breaking.
    • NOTE: If your HQ schedule was broken, you'll have to reassign your HQ employees to the schedule, but the issues should be resolved now!
  • Fixed issue using the scheduler autofill in factories if you have delivery drivers in the factory
  • Fixed unpurchased stackable items were stacking with the items you had already purchased
  • Fixed security guards appearing twice on Andersons recruitment dropdown
  • Fixed sitting at a barstool that was next to a cash register would force you to order, not sit
  • Fixed small JayBeeel Loudspeakers were missing from Ika Bohag
  • Fixed you could change text on the glass barrier in the US General Trucks store
  • Fixed a few colliders that were too big
  • Fixed if you open VoogleMaps from the casino, the overlays were miscolored.
  • Fixed uniforms not being reassigned after using the movers, if the new location already had assigned uniforms
  • Fixed a couple uniform options not appearing properly on employees
  • Fixed issue when trying to invest when you have $0
  • Fixed issue where your blueprint list wouldn't refresh properly after creating a new blueprint, causing some installations to fail until you restarted the game
[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
If you experience either of the first two, please let us know as much information about what happened as possible when sending a bug report
  • Occasionally, players get stuck "inside" the hand truck or flatbed geometry
  • We have two reports of being stuck in a sitting position after leaving the casino
  • Some player shoes don't appear as the correct color you chose
  • Apron uniforms intersect clothing on the female character

EA 0.8 Preview Build 2994 - Patch Notes

It's a new week, so here's a new patch for the EA 0.8 preview!

Thanks to everyone who has played and submitted feedback! Here's what we fixed:

  • Fixed Gaming Chair collider made it hard to attach to desks
  • Fixed Executive Desk colliders were too large
  • Fixed Pallet Shelf can be on vehicle dock railing
  • Fixed pier parking lots
  • Fixed buying items at your own store was charging money
  • Fixed expenses were being deducted before income, causing you to "not have enough money" even though you did a moment later
  • Fixed if you put a box of paper bags in your vehicle when you have a paper bag of other items (like food), the box of paper bags breaks
  • Fixed if you switch items on a display shelf the quantities weren't properly updated
  • Fixed Employee list showing alerts when it shouldn't
  • Fixed the logistics manager was showing all items
    • For warehouse-to-store deliveries, it now shows the default items and items for any display shelves you have set up
    • For warehouse-to-warehouse deliveries, it now shows all items that are available at the warehouse
  • Fixed if you click "cancel" from the Interior Designer mode with certain UI open, it wouldn't properly cancel
  • Improved texture flickering issue when using TAA anti-aliasing
    • Note: If textures still look blurry to you, try switching to SMAA instead!
  • Fixed 12-hour time displaying incorrectly on the scheduler
  • Fixed HQ Schedule breaking when using copy/paste, autofill, or delete on a single day
  • Fixed movers not rotating items on desks properly
  • Fixed high heels always appeared gold, regardless of your color choice
  • Fixed small speakers were missing from Ika Bohag
  • Fixed Lytte headlights and turn signals
  • Fixed eyebrows don't change color with your hair color
  • Fixed T-pose bug if you let go of a hand truck while running
  • Fixed can't see the bottom of open doors when using the wall hider
  • Fixed wrong GPS icons at:
    • 4 2nd St
    • 13 10th St
  • Fixed AI sometimes stands sideways at cash registers
  • Fixed (hopefully) AI gets stuck in doorways
    • Note: If you experience this again, please let us know!
[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
Here are a couple tricky items we haven't figured out yet! If you experience them, please submit a bug report with as much information as you can remember about what you were doing when it happened!!
  • We have a couple more reports of age resetting to 0 but still haven't found the cause.
  • A couple people have mentioned leaving the casino and still being seated when arriving back to the dock. So far we can't replicate it, so it must be something specific!
  • The Classic Loudspeaker (small) tried to sneak in Ika Bohag and replace the JayBeeel Loudspeaker (small). We decided to let it stay until the next patch, but then we're kicking it out!

EA 0.8 Preview Build 2986 - Patch Notes

[h3]Hello and many Big Ambitions to you all![/h3]

In case you missed it (or didn't believe us because it was April Fool's Day), the EA 0.8 preview is out!

A big thank you to everyone who has played already and sent feedback! We got a handful of bug reports from you all and have addressed a bunch of them for our first patch!

[h2]Changelog[/h2]
  • Fixed Office Desk (Right) couldn't attach chairs
  • Fixed Cabinet End (Left) couldn't attach larger items like grills
  • Fixed Items with capacities larger than 1 box size (like the large drinks fridge) couldn't be filled fully
  • Fixed Headhunter could find employees with "None_skills"
  • Fixed collider was too large for modular sofas and you couldn't place them near each other
  • Fixed a weird sidewalk collider between 1 and 2 pier
  • Fixed can't enter 26 1st St
  • Fixed disco pants were not visible in-game
  • Fixed Mr. Scott's Office Supplies manager was missing their computer.
  • Fixed the wrong Product Display Table was for sale at AJ Pederson
  • Fixed the shelves were showing products when they were empty
  • Fixed issue if you cancel or discard an item you were placing directly out of a hand truck
  • Fixed if you grab a box off the floor with a hand truck it becomes "closed cardboard box"
  • Fixed the missing blue dot in the Logistics Manager that indicates primary products for that store
  • Fixed autopark sometimes makes vehicles shake and bounce around
  • Added a warning if you try to use a computer when you're not in your home
  • Fixed an issue if you switch items that a display shelf is selling.
  • Updated some help files
  • Fixed some clothing glitches
  • Fixed some employee equipment demands weren't being recognized when properly fulfilled
  • Fixed an issue if you looked the rivals, then changed your appearance (changing clothes, daily aging, etc), you would take the rival's appearance
  • Fixed headlights on Lytte weren't very visibly bright
  • Partially fixed using movers to move desks is broken with our new placement system
    • You should be able to safely use the movers now!
    • Note: If you already had a move that glitched items, your missing items should be in that building's delivery spot
    • Note: Some items might be rotated the wrong way. We'll continue fixing this!
  • Fixed issue with "no cleaning shifts" demand being improperly unfulfilled, if you had previously assigned them to a cleaning station
    • Note: If your employee currently has this bug, unassign them from that station and reassign them, and it should reset!
  • Fixed a weird bug that could set your prices to "undefined" resulting in the game claiming you made $9 quintillion.
    • Note: if you experienced this, we have reset the price of the broken items, but you might need to adjust it back where you want it

[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
Here are a few more items we haven't had a chance to address yet, but we will!
  • Two players have reported their age resetting to 0 - if you experience this, please report it in-game, so we can investigate! Be sure to include as many details as you can remember!
  • When using the movers, some items on desks might be rotated the wrong way.
  • The light from the turn signals on the new Lytte bleed over to each other slightly
  • If you use TAA Anti-Aliasing it makes some textures flicker
  • Sometimes the AI stands sideways at the register. We'll ask them not to.
  • When you start a new logistics delivery, it shows you all the options currently being delivered to your warehouse

EA 0.8 - Optimization #3: Preview

Spring is in the air, so it's time for us to share our latest experimental build with you!

The team has been working hard to bring you a big new update - another optimization update packed with tons of quality-of-life upgrades, giving you more control over your business empire! Dive in and help us test and refine this new update!

The complete patch notes will be included when EA 0.8 is ready for its full release, but for now, here is a summary of the bigger changes in EA 0.8.

Box Consolidation

This was a big one! Until now, none of your employees knew how to combine boxes, which was a big problem when your shelves were full of mostly empty boxes! Well, we taught them how to fix this!

If you're already experiencing this problem in a save, we've got you! When you first load into your current savegame, it should automatically merge the partial boxes together for each store / warehouse.



Next, when you ship goods from your warehouse, it will start with the partial boxes and ship those first, making sure it doesn't leave multiple partial boxes behind.

Then, logistics deliveries and wholesale deliveries will start by filling up the display shelves. Once those are full, they will fill any partial boxes, and finally, if there any items left over, they will be stored in new boxes!

Oh, and while we were at it, we realized using a whole box for one mousepad was silly, so now you can pack multiple of the same small products into one box!

Character Generator

You know what's better than only two character heads and two shirts to choose from?

A LOT MORE OPTIONS! We agree, so we present to you the brand new character creator!

With beards and mustaches, several more hair options, more clothing, and customization of each facial feature, our artists have completely redone the character creating experience! It's time for you to look like you...or whoever you want to look like!



Auto-scheduler and Schedule UI Revamp

"Wow, HR did a great job setting up my company's schedule!!" That has probably not been your reaction to the auto-schedule feature in previous versions of the game.

Well, that's about to change! The auto-scheduler now checks employee demands and splits the shifts a lot better to keep them happy. You can even choose to only autofill one day instead of the whole schedule!

And if you want to manually control things, the scheduler UI is much more powerful now. You can copy/paste specific days and rename workstations to quickly search and find things. Plus, the new employee search filters make it much easier to find the exact employees you're looking for!



Placement and Attachment Updates

As the game has gotten more complex, we've realized we needed a whole new placement system.

Some of these big changes in EA 0.8 include:
  • General improvements to placing objects on the floors
  • A full rewrite on how you can place items on and under desks and tables
  • You can now grab and pack display shelves with items in them instead of needing to unpack them first!
  • And most exciting, you can rapidly place items directly from the delivery spot or hand truck! Much less clicking now!


Interior Wall Hider

Speaking of placing things, don't you hate when you're trying to put things on the floor, and the walls keep blocking your view? Now you can toggle between walls up, walls down, or an exterior "cut out" mode!

Keep an eye on your store better than ever!



Notification Consolidation

How many times have you missed the IRS notification because it was buried under a wall of other alerts? We fixed that too!

If you receive several notifications of the same type, they will be grouped together:

Instead of seeing 10 individual pop-ups, you'll see "10 Employees messaged you"



This will make the red alerts like the IRS more noticeable!

Additionally, if your Logistics Manager is unable to deliver product to any of its stores, you will get 1 message from that manager, with a summary of anything that was not delivered!

Turn Signals, Dirt and Car Washes

Our vehicles got a few visual updates as well!

Lots of players have requested turn signals and have noted that the reverse lights don't always work, so we fixed those! The angry drivers in the city will still ignore your signals and cut you off, but at least you can be polite!

While you're driving around the city, you'll start to notice the car getting dirty. Don't worry, you can wash it next time you're at the repair shop, or just wait until it rains and let nature help you out!



Plus, the Missam Villian vehicle has been upgraded
  • The old model has a lot of issues, so we upgraded it
  • It has been replaced with the new vehicle the Lytte L6
  • The new vehicle can be found at Manhattan Luxury Vehicles
  • If you previously owned the Villain, it has been automatically upgraded to the Lytte!


New Items and Accessories


[h2]Job Board[/h2]
Headhunters and recruiters are great, but what happened to the old-fashion walk-in?

Now you can buy a Job Board and place it in your store to attract some employees. They might not be the highest-skilled workers, but it's the easiest way to recruit!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Employees > Recruits page when these employees pop up!

[h2]Umbrellas[/h2]
We added rain, but forgot to give you an umbrella! Well we fixed that in 0.8! You can carry an umbrella and equip it in the rain to stay dry and avoid any negative happiness from being wet!



In fact - you can now sell umbrellas in your gift shops too! Be sure to pick up a Product Panel and start selling them!

[h2]Wearable Headphones and Earbuds[/h2]
Next, we've heard the requests - you want to wear headphones to listen to your music station whenever you want. Well, now you can! You can equip a pair of headphones or earbuds to your character!

[h2]Usable Items[/h2]
Next up - "I bought this outfit, now what?" Well, you should put it in your wardrobe!
  • Both the current Wardrobe and the new Wall-Mounted Wardrobe can now hold clothes
  • The new Fruit Bowl can hold your fruit (Apples, Bananas and Pears)
  • Your Decorative Bookshelf can now be loaded with books (grab a book from the shelf to read it)
  • The new Jewelry Case can protect your Jewelry
  • Use the new Umbrella Stand to hold your umbrellas
  • Your Headphone or Earbud Stands can hold headphones and earbuds
  • Plus, place your gifts and flowers around the house!


Quality of Life / Bugs


This update was filled with many little tweaks and fixes, in addition to everything listed above. Here are some more things to look out for!

[h2]General Code Optimization[/h2]
We did a lot of work with more optimization, especially when it comes to massive lists.

Deliveries, inventory, employees, businesses, store layouts - pretty much anywhere with a massive list or number of items - have all been optimized and refactored to make the game run smoother!

Launching the game has been optimized, which should hopefully help some computers that were struggling to launch!
[h2]Quality of Life[/h2]
  • Optimized the time-skip blur effect to avoid GPU spikes
  • Add permanent taxi spot to the hospital
  • You can now make multiple deliveries from each furniture store per day!
  • Gym Customers now use the showers
  • Added more information to employee complaints
  • Added ability to cancel blueprint orders
  • Replaced phone message alert with a less abrasive sound
  • Added "Unlock All Contacts" option for custom games
  • Income Updates
    • Fixed inconsistent income behavior, so all midnight expenses are charged to the current day instead of some being charged to the next day
    • Adjusted negative interest to be calculated before your Sunday income is added to avoid it being adding to the negative interest fee
    • To avoid more confusion, we changed the end-of-day pop-up to now show how much your bank account changed at midnight. You can still see your store's profitability in the EconoView page, though!
    • Note: If you already have a savegame going, the first day or two might appear to have double charges or no charges due to these changes, but it should all appear properly after that!
  • New Options
    • SFX Audio Volume Slider
    • Competitor Store Music Volume Slider
    • Enable / Disable Seasonal decorations
    • Gamma / Brightness
  • New Map Filters
    • Map now has a search filter
    • "Enable/Disable All" Toggle
    • "Rented By You" Toggle
    • "Hide Closed businesses" Toggle

EA 0.7 Build 2852 - Patch Notes

We have some quick bug fixes for you in today's patch!

[h3]Changelog Build 2852:[/h3]
Several of you noticed that there was an error with rival business prices and they were selling things higher than you could! This has been fixed, and their prices have been adjusted to the correct amounts.

Additionally, if you had matched their higher prices and weren't getting customers - your prices should now be corrected as well, but be sure to check again after midnight to see if you're getting sales and your pricing satisfaction is going back up!
  • Fix moving service failing after returning to main menu
    • Note - if you had used the moving service and it broke your business or lost items, the business should be working again. The items...have been lost to the void, unfortunately
  • Fixed some issues that could cause the player to get stuck after using BizMan
  • Fix eyedropper not pasting text color
  • Fix black screen after "using" Mr. Ternity
  • Fix HQ plans weren't updating BizMan settings after a warehouse move
  • Fix can order Purchasing Agent products without assigned warehouse
  • Fix couldn't enter Truck Garage building
  • Fix can't buy Modular Sofas at Lux Concept
  • Update Lux Concept layout to add Tall Plant 1 back in
  • Update M1 Jewelry Rustic layout to fix capacity issues
  • Update Factory Supply Depot and Hudson Wholesale layouts to fix manager desk
  • Update IKA coffee shop layout to include trash cans
